  1. And the odds don't change shortly after you buy a stack of tokens to put in the machine.
  2. It almost seems like it would be faster to list the abilities that aren't somehow bugged than to list all the ones that are ...
  3. But you are perfectly OK with BioWare using bait and switch to pump up Cartel Coin sales, it seems. Or did you not realize that for a lot of people, that's the real issue here? You may not agree that BW did that, you may think the ToS will protect them if they did. That doesn't matter. What matters is whether SWTOR players have a colorable claim (look it up) that they were defrauded of cold hard cash. It's not my place to say if they do or not, but I believe EA's legal team needs to worry about it. The first owner of every one of these slot machine they added to the game bought it with cash they converted into Cartel Coins. That the virtual machine was bartered for other virtual object doesn't change that. That not everyone who bought a raffle ticket won a Machine doesn't matter. Someone paid cash for that slot machine. So the issue is, were they induced to part with that cash though fraud? Some people think they were. Is the case a colorable one? You would have to take it to a judge and find out, but no one here can say it isn't.
  4. Trolling is its own reward. Getting people upset is the ultimate goal. There need be no other. Seriously, this is what psych studies have found.
  5. But not in under an hour. Chuck used green 186 gear for to speed things up a little.
  6. It looks like they are trying to fix ability lag by reducing the number of players. That might be the only way to fix it they are capable of implementing.
  7. That mount is a slap in the face. No, it's THREE slaps in the face: Slap 1: It's an ugly reskin of an ugly mount you can buy for 100K. Slap 2: It's got a 90% movement speed. Slap 3: you are probably never going to get it.
  8. One possibility is that after they read people making colorable claims of fraud and bait-and-switch marketing, they circled the lawyers. So it may be that the next communication we see from BioWare about the Slot Machines, if we ever see any, won't be published until a senior partner at one of EA's outside law firms has signed off on it.
  9. He was complaining about lag, the Yavin 4 storyline, the 12x XP event, and some other things only a little while ago. Apparently he doesn't think it's OK for SWTOR to have as much lag as BioWare has put in to it. [sarcasm] It's their game Strange, they can put lag in to it whenever and however they want. So take your lag-spike induced wipes like a man and stop complaining about it. Seriously, complaining about a few hundred milliseconds of lag? What could be more ridiculous than that? [/sarcasm]
  10. They don't make it easy to find. And remember, you need to disable in-game purchases separately, or that will stay linked to your credit card.
  11. I blame Chuck Norris. Not because he was involved in any of it, but rather, because he wasn't involved.
  12. That reddit entry includes an email address for Musco. It will probably be taken down soon as an alleged minor doxxing. Posting it here is probably a violation of some obscure ToS section.
  13. I have people telling me "wait a bit, BioWare will un-nerf the Machines." Some people are holding on to that hope. But if BioWare intends to do nothing, and Eric comes out and says so, that will be that, won't it? It's just like the Ravagers exploit: when BW intends to do nothing, they say nothing, so that the people who wanted BW to do something don't get angry at them and instead hang around hoping that BW eventually will. My subscription ends Jan. 31 and is no longer on six-month auto-renew. If we hear nothing from BioWare before then, I might stay on using time cards until my wife's subscription also runs out, so we can keep raiding together, but not beyond.
  14. Just do not try to sell the exploit through fleet chat, whispers, email, or public media. Stick to voice chats. And do not do a server transfer in order to sell the exploit in a new, non-saturated market. That's what I hear is getting people banned. Nothing less. Exploit the game before it exploits you: the lesson of Rava-Slot-Gate.
  15. Plausible deniability, just in case his next potential employer asks him about all the meltdowns on his watch.
  16. Yeah, that was an epic QA fail on their part, wasn't it? But it generated a lot of SoR preorders, so the bean counters were happy.
  17. To free up money to hire another developer. The game doesn't need mouthpieces as much as it needs more competent developers and managers.
  18. No. They get paid for this. And it's beginning to look like a poor use of BioWare's personnel budget. Word from someone with a friend at BioWare is that the SWTOR development team is down to a skeleton crew of a dozen or so people. Not sure if that includes the 3 community support people or not. I would love to have BioWare come out and say, no, we have X developers working on SWTOR, where X is a 2 digit number much bigger than 12, but if it is just 9 or 12 people, the talking-head to actual-productive-worker ratio seems a bit high, and they should get rid of two of talking-heads and hire a competent programmer with the money. Don't be surprised if this post disappears. Not that it violates any Rule of Conduct provision, but if there really are only a handful of devs working on SWTOR, I suspect BioWare would rather the players not know that.
  19. People remain in your stronghold and can keep gambling after you logoff. I've done exactly that.
  20. Hang on, rethink this a little. Is it perhaps too many blue and green for each purple if you are trying to avoid gluts like the one that exists for blue mats now and avoid making in-the-field gathering irrelevant? How about 10g:3b:2p instead?
  21. Credits my butt. Every single Slot Machine began it's life as a purchase using Cartel Coins, and the vast majority of those Cartel Coins came from giving BioWare cold hard cash. Musco misled people into spending real money.
