  1. You're one of those guys who just buys everyone gift cards for Christmas, aren't you? Just kidding. I actually think this is a decent idea. Although I do think you are one of those guys who just buys everyone gift cards.
  2. Huttball Huttball Huttball I think Bio should make a standalone MOBA for Huttball.
  3. Have you ever seen the movie, The Ring? If you wanna get rid of the curse, you gotta do what they did.
  4. <oprah>You get a rancor! And you get a rancor! And you get a rancor!...</oprah>
  5. [Ops] [Trooper 3]: omg [Ops] [Trooper 4]: Where the f*** was the inc call! Trooper 3 left the ops group. Trooper 4 left the ops group. [Obi-wan] says: lol Squad Leader left the ops group.
  6. I do share a bank account in real life. I also slice down my enemies with my lightsaber. Leaping to them from 30 meters, landing 10 meters away from them, and running the final distance as they try to slow and impede my progress towards them with an array of magic.
  7. Uninstall the game client. Remove all residual files and registry entries. And then reinstall the game client clean. That would be the first thing I would try. This issue seems far more likely to be a game client issue than a server stability issue, considering that many people are playing on all the different servers without stability issues (game crashing). And it also seems more likely to be a game client issue than a personal computer issue if you have no problems playing other games. Although, it could still be possible that you have a setup that is causing issues that the game client is not able to handle correctly. Try updating a driver one at a time and testing after each update, if the game client is still crashing after doing a clean install.
  8. It doesn't work fine. It's not terrible, but it could be improved. Mainly, I should never be flagged for PVP because I mistakenly hit a player who was flagged. If I'm not flagged for PVP, I shouldn't be allowed to attack someone who is. During the Gree event, it was extremely obvious people tried to take advantage of this. They would flag themselves for pvp and run around mobs that other players were attacking, hoping to get hit so they could retaliate. So here's an easy way to fix it. I can't attack a fellow player (who is flagged for pvp) unless I specifically flag myself for pvp by right clicking on my character's pic and toggling on the pvp flag. I think the delay in turning off the pvp flag makes sense, to prevent abuse. The only reason the delay is annoying right now is because you can get flagged accidentally.
  9. What if it only worked in PVE? That's the only place where a gap closer is needed because bosses (and champions) are immune to grapple. Which means PTs/VGs have no gap closer.
  10. I agree that PTs are in good place pvp wise. This change should only be for pve, which is why I thought grapple makes sense. If you grapple a pve enemy that's immune, it would pull you over instead. This skill is needed for raiding, like corruptor zero.
  11. I believe they fixed this. Maybe I'm mistaken but I remember reading in a patch that the second doors won't light up until the bridge is down.
  12. Your core points are extremely useful, and things everyone should be doing. Every beginner PVPer should read and learn it. I do have a difference of opinion with this section about Voidstar. I've found most people refer to left/right as the direction you drop from the spawn area. You're saying it refers to left/right on the map. This is obviously confusing. I'd rather still say east/west. If someone doesn't know if they're at east/west while they're playing, they can at least logically figure it out, since I've never seen a map have South at the top of it. And as far as zerging left or right as an attacker, I tend to dislike that strategy. Yes, you'll have a 8v7, but how long will it take you to whittle them down? With all the guarding and cross healing, the gate will open long before you have time to whittle it down to a CCable number. I tend to prefer a 4/4 split to start, because you split up the defending team's guarding and cross healing. One method for doing this is 4 in the left side of the ops group continue to go left and the 4 in the right side continue to go right. You can build a numbers advantage due to the immediate respawn for attackers vs the gate for defenders. The other way is to have people rotate on death. This creates a slow rotate, where the defense may not switch rapidly enough, because they're busy killing off the last 2 attackers with their 4 and can't rotate immediately because they don't know if the respawn will return or rotate. If the rotation seems to be working, sometimes it will be the better play to sacrifice myself by returning to the disadvantaged side, just to make sure the defenders don't rotate. The main thing is, more than 2 defenders and you're not likely to CC cap. So which is the faster way to whittle down to 2 defenders: 8v7 or 2 4v4s? And remember, attackers respawn immediately. I don't have any stats to back up if this strategy works better, but I feel like I've had higher success with it. Finally, let me add a tactic when it comes to defending in Voidstar and Civil War. Stealthers need to stealth out before the team wipes. Sometimes, this may mean you're sitting in stealth for a while while your team gets whittled away (don't stealth out too early though, since youre just leaving your team a man down if you do). But stealthing out and then interrupting cappers with mez first and then combat until reinforcements arrive can save a match.
  13. Yes, they will never achieve perfect balance, but they'll get closer to it with tweaks. With a level cap increase, though, they take a huge step back, because they've completely reset the baseline. They won't truly know how the new abilities and power levels will affect things until they release it and give it time to fester. Then they start the tweaking process all over.
  14. I dislike it for this very reason. They spend all this time tweaking things trying to achieve balance, and then toss it all out the window with the level cap increase.
  15. Not necessarily the best 3 players on the server, just ignore everyone but the best 3 that are currently queueing. Keeps your ignore list short and let's you play with whoever is currently playing. That seems like the best way to exploit this. And if it wasn't obvious, I'm not a fan of this idea because it does seem so easily exploited.
  16. If /ignore prevents players on that list from being in your group, then you'd want to ignore all the bad players, not the good ones. That way you aren't grouped with the baddies, and have a higher probability of playing against them.
  17. You can leap to an enemy. You can leap to an ally. You can pull an enemy. You can pull an ally. You can push an enemy. But you can't push an ally! Wouldn't it be fun if an AC had a friendly push? Maybe give it to sentinels or operatives, since they have no abilities which can change the position of an enemy or ally. Maybe just give it to sentinels So when would a push actually be useful, rather than just trolling your own team? Well, I'll admit, trolling your own team will be 99% of the fun. But, it could be immensely useful in moving allies out of danger, such as out of an AOE when they're stunned, or better yet, out of the fire trap in Huttball. Or maybe, push your healer out of range of that last tick on a master strike. And yes, most importantly, it will be useful in knocking group mates off the ledge on the fleet
  18. Harbinger has more people on every planet. The population status that Bioware displays has more to do with % of capacity filled. So while BC may stay in the high population state longer, it doesn't take into account that Harbinger's capacity is much higher. Everything pops faster on Harbs. If you take a look at the number of warzones going on, on Harbs, there are typically at least 6 different groups (for one faction, double it for other faction) in warzones in Harb, whereas on BC (at least before I left) it was like 1 or 2. So you end up not running into the same premade over and over again, especially if you just wait a minute instead of queueing immediately after exiting a warzone. Also, Imps are catching up to Pubs in terms of quality of play during the prime time hours. It's not anywhere near as lopsided as it was at the start of the year. So it can be an enjoyable experience on either faction. Cavy, I saw your comment on my vid. Come to Harbs! All you awesome PVPers should come to Harbs Despite what your girlfriends have told you, size matters. Bigger is always better, and Harbs is bigger.
  19. That damned autocorrect messed up the entire post.
  20. I'd like to see scoundrels and snipers drop the ball when they roll, only because roll is so broken in Huttball. At least on my computer. I see a scoundrel roll on the catwalks or ramp, his toon usually just flashes from the position where he rolled. I don't know if he's rolled off the catwalk or if he's still on. Most of the time, he appears briefly underneath the catwalk, and then pops back up on the catwalk later on. I guess I sorta know where he probably is, but his character doesn't appear normally until maybe 5 seconds later when he's trotting past the goal line. So essentially each roll is like carrying the ball while invis'd.
  21. I don't use my tongue. Face usually hits everything I need.
  22. Best PVPer thread is boring. Please, nobody cares. Who's the funniest person on the server? My vote goes to Fjdshfird. His impressions of spammers is spot on. Sometimes, I can't even tell the difference. Wait... ohh....
  23. I moved from BC to Harbinger. The population feels 3-4x larger on Harbinger. Things pop quicker. I would guess that server status indicates server load or player load per server, but does not take into account number of servers.
  24. Can I ask, why join a group if you want to just solo stuff?
