  1. Not intended as you were not supposed to be able to do that, especially after they attempted to fix this bug before. I hardly think a warning is needed or required in this case.
  2. No, servers are online, and we already started playing. But the forums are down and can't be reached right now.
  3. Exactly, they are out to spread misinformation to destroy the game. You should have been there at the least meeting, they are advancing the latest plan to get the devs fired, evil evil people!
  4. Oh that was a joke, you see it is very funny to promise for the 10th time to do so but not actually do it.
  5. Crit no longer competes with Power, crit was changed to a tertiary stat. Mods now only have Power.
  6. It goes away after a while, even when you know they are replying to you for example it becomes a chore to press the button.
  7. Another piece of information, they can also see your posts on the forums. Ignoring them here only makes their posts automatically hidden.
  8. This thread has a special place in my heart, it is a monument to the naivety of anyone who ever believed a word the devs uttered.
  9. Almost every WB under the level of 40 can be 3-manned, seriously easy.
  10. They had no issues nerfing the slot machine from the CM couple of months ago, I doubt this is the reason.
  11. For your second point, I think at one point there were plans of actually removing the stats, no idea what happened to that.
  12. But that's not why WoW lost that many subscribers, copying other games should be encouraged especially when the stuff you are copying is a good design.
  13. Do you mind sharing your complete analysis for review?
  14. Considering how much they changed in the game with 4.0, I think many of us (including me) had doubts on the state of playability of the game post-expansion launch. We all remember SoR's launch and the buggy/broken state the expansion was released in, and how long it stayed like that. So with that in mind some of us had doubts (and I would say rightfully so) on BW's ability to release something of this magnitude relatively bug-free (yes there are bugs to address, but nothing like SoR). So I would say kudos, consider me impressed!
  15. I totally get you! The devs were at a complete lost, they didn't have any way to measure any sort of player content with the expansion. They have to base every single decision on the number of threads for, and number of threads against, they also like to do spooky math where they weight each thread by the number of posts. The entire marketing and PR team do not have the tools to actually measure these things, poor guys I am very serious! Source: I know a guy who knows a guy, who's cousin's roommate works at the offices near BW, totally legit!
  16. Let me explain to you what I believe is not correctly calculated. There are several points but I'll start with this, I am not sure if you are privy to more in-depth theocrafting, but the damage of ability is calculated this way: Why am I talking about this? The point I want to get across is that "AmountModifierPercent " and "Coefficient" are two parameters that change from ability to ability, MainHandMin/Max are dependent on weapon type and rating of the barrel/hilt inside of it, so they don't change when you min-maxing your gear. This leaves us with DamageBonus, which is a linear function of Mastery and Power and the only variable that changes when you are min-maxing. The issue is that the ability that you chose above has a high (relative to other abilities) value of the parameter "Coefficient", which means for this ability the damage will scale better with power when compared to an ability with a lower value. This means that the balance point (when ignoring extra critical damage/chance buffs and alacrity) among Power/Crit/Alacrity will lean in favor of Power vs the other two stats. Your result of finding that power was better for Assassinate is hardly surprising considering that the Coefficient value is high, but that's only what your results show, unbuffed (I will get to this later on) Assassinate scales better with power, but that doesn't mean your entire burst rotation will. The problem is when you extrapolate your findings to the whole rotation because Assassinate can't be spammed and other abilities have different values of "Coefficient", thus shifting the balance among Power/Crit/Alacrity in a different direction. Any ability with any innate buff to critical chance or critical damage will shift the balance among the stats in the direction of Crit, raising its optimal value. Simply, the way you gear yourself should be the average of each ability's balance weighted by its contribution to the total damage, and by ignoring every ability except Assassinate your analysis is incomplete and heavily biased toward Power. Now to another point, while I understand taking tooltip damage and doing the calculations, but by doing so you are neglecting two factors in your analysis, Relics and Buffs. Since Alacrity and Critical are multiplicative factors to your damage, then when the relics trigger they increase your base damage (as they increase Bonus Damage) they actually increase the important of crit\alacrity and considering the fact that even for Assassinate the difference in damage between your two scenarios is ~3%, then the difference is going to be smaller when the ability is relic-buffed. Additionally, when there is a buff to critical damage/chance in the discipline for one ability what this does is also tip the balance among the stats in favor of crit as opposed the scenario where the buff doesn't exist. For Assassins, critical hits by Force attacks buffs the critical chance of Melee attacks by 5% for 10 seconds (Passive talent called: Exploitive Strikes). So, when you did your calculations you didn't take into account this buff as well which again will tip the balance in favor of Crit. Now of course "Exploitive Strikes" and the Relics' buffs are not always ON which means they need to be averaged in order to find the actual optimal stat distribution. With all of this taken into account, I highly doubt that "Power" is optimal for PvP burst from a pure numbers point of view. There are other arguments that can be made in favor of "Power", but they are not based on numbers (more on reliability).
  17. To be fair this one precisely is not what is wrong with his conclusions (Just confusing ratio and %). There are several flaws with the methodology, but it doesn't seem he is around to talk about this.
  18. Search for Nvidiainspector and swtor, there are some things you can do to improve how the game looks like visually without sacrificing too much performance.
  19. To be fair there was a post recently from Eric about external tools (like Unleashed and I think sweetfx), but that was about modifying game assets. The ini files are created for the users to play with, that's the whole purpose of them existing in the first place.
  20. Not really, anything of actual importance is hardcoded. There was a post not long ago on reddit detailing all possible variables, you could search for it, but as I said there isn't much. However, if you have a Nvidia card, you can look into forcing the game to use a different types and levels of AA, plus some lod bias they can improve how the game looks like.
  21. Again: "Blindingly reading into something that doesn't mean what you think it means won't win you any arguments here. " That rule is about modifying game assets, not settings files (the only thing you are allowed to change). But suit yourself, believe whatever you want to believe, I will no longer reply.
  22. Blindingly reading into something that doesn't mean what you think it means won't win you any arguments here. Changing the resolution of the game is not a bannable offense, that's literally one of the things that you are "allowed to do". Seriously try to understand what these settings are (these are made for you to change), modifying game files doesn't mean changing the one file that you are supposed to tailor to your own need.
