  1. To answer your question: casuals need Nightmare level gear to do well in rated PVP. Duh! Next question?
  2. This is where Alto-holics like myself laugh at people like you because I have a Level 65 toon for every.single.advanced.class.and.spec.in.the.game! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! This is PERFECT for me!
  3. Each piece we get (armor) will have set bonus so we begin to build on that from the first piece we get.
  4. I play on average 4-6 hours a day, more on the weekends. I like everything about this new gearing system except the RNG with the loot. I wish that you still got armor from raids but seeing as no one really hard core raids any more, this is a nice alternative since I have been having difficulty finding a new raid home. I only like the new ideas because I can do it all on my own or through group finder. Basically, the game is no longer intended to support group play but solo play. Good for me since I am such a loner, but bad for the game I think. #KOTFEendofGroupContent
  5. Should have posted in the PVP forum. They are the ones complaining about having to put in work. LOL
  6. "This new Command Level business means that I can't be lazy any more! Now I will have to actually put in hours of work to get the best gear in the game! This is so unfair!" This is what some of you sound like. What's next? You going to just run the first two miles of a marathon, quit, and demand to get a finisher medal too? If you put in the work, you get the credit. Nuff said! But oh yeah, that RNG for crates has got to GO! On THAT we can agree on.
  7. Expertise caused huge imbalances in Open World PVP. Too many "gankers" thinking they accomplish something by attacking someone in PVE gear running dailies. Gankers in low level PVP gear by default being able to easily destroy someone in Nightmare quality PVE gear was a joke! Ding Dong, Expertise is Dead!!! First they included level synch which destroyed higher to lower level ganking, and now this! When I found out I jumped up at my desk at work and started screaming my excitement! I run a crap ton of both PVE and PVP and this will make it more convenient for me. Thanks Bioware! PS that RNG for crates has got to GO!
  8. Dude, please start reading the info available to all of us. the BEST crates do not drop from anything. The best way to advance your LEVEL is by more challenging content. Your LEVEL determines the quality of gear not the difficulty of how you got there. It is possible to get the best gear in the game by doing solo mode flash points but it will take a very long time.
  9. Fact: you shouldn't even think about setting foot in ranked unless you have the highest level of PVP gear available, fully augmented, and have a thick skin. Not sure how people will accomplish this...that means waiting until you have Command level 100 and some how magically the RNG Gods jizzled all over you and you got the gear you needed. Likely? No!
  10. I would suggest googling SWTOR Cosplay and see what has been made out there and try contacting those who have done it to get any tips and tricks. Hope that helps!
  11. I agree with you, to a degree. Alliance Crates, however, have 40 different armor sets to try to complete with 280 different armor pieces that may generate from a single crate. With this system, there are only 14 different armor sets, if my Math is correct? Warrior/Knight: 2 DPS Sets, 1 Tank Set..................3 Inquisitor/Consular: 2 DPS Sets, 1 Tank, 1 Heal.....4 Agent/Smuggler: 2 DPS sets, 1 heal set..................3 BH/Trooper: 2 DPS Sets, 1 Tank, 1 Heal.................4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Armor Sets.....................................................14 That means that we have only a 7 in 98 chance to get a piece that our character can actually use!!! We better pray to the RNG Gods!
  12. Right now, if you are even the most highly skilled PVPer you can't just jump into Nightmare Ops with your PVP gear and vise versa. This way you can just build your GEAR and do both without hindering your teammates gear wise. I wonder what the valor level will be required for ranked? Hopefully something like 60-70.
  13. Eric Musco just said THIS: "You will still get gear from all of the normal sources pre-70. Flashpoint bosses, Mission drops, etc. The only exception is that you can no longer get gear for Commendations. The planetary vendors which sold mods for Commendations will now do so for credits instead. -eric" So we can get armor from flash points again come 5.0? Is this a dream come true? I still need to complete my Robes of Dark Delirium set from Mandalorian Raiders! Is this what you mean Eric??! I could kiss you!
  14. That would be unfortunate. I hope all gear we receive has mods, enhancements, etc, we can pull and mix and match and send around with legacy gear. If it is Green gear, or static gear (as you said) with no Mods, this will be terrible!
  15. Obviously stats will be adjusted to support this. Don't get your panties in a bunch yet, Mary! I am SO HAPPY they are getting rid of PVP gear! No more ganking while out doing PVE content while some jerk in fully augmented rated PVP gear attacks you and thinks he accomplished something by easily killing someone in DPS gear. Finally, justice!!! They should have gotten rid of PVP gear a long time ago. I practically jumped up and screamed in happiness at work when I read it at my desk!
  16. I think the Crates should have Tokens we can take to a vendor to choose which piece we need and that piece will only be as strong as the Level you were when you got the token. Also, can I send this gear around via Legacy Armor? I hope so so I can get the stuff to characters that can actually use it if I get a piece of high crit tank gear for my healing Sorc. (Not that anyone can use that crap) Just saying!
  17. So I know that Galactic Command is character specific and with each new level of Command rank you get better and better gear but am I able to put said gear into LEGACY ARMOR and send it to other toons? I have every advanced class at level 65 and I use Legacy gear to share gear between factions/characters because, well, that is why Legacy gear is there. Will my other toons be able to use this Command Gear via legacy gear or will they not be able to if those characters do not have the same Galactic Command level as the character that earned it? If not, that is going to be a major bummer that is going to be a huge down fall for me. I can see Galactic Command level armor working the way Valor armor used to work. Example: needed to be Valor 60 to wear Battlemaster Armor. Is this the case, or no?
  18. Interesting. I will need to look into this. I would have figured that all sniper/blaster rifle companions would all have the same abilities: Kaliyo, Aric, all HK Series droids, etc etc. I would never use HK-51 for anything other than DPS though. To me HK-55 is a clown version of the HK series. Would be interesting to see where he was manufactured. I own HK-55 and Z0-Om as well for anyone curious. =)
  19. if you like HK-55 so much, and are willing to sacrifice getting back any of your original companions, just play the chapter until BEFORE your final battle with Arkann on Asylum and you will be able to keep him forever. You wont be able to progress in KOTFE but you WILL be able to pick up at the beginning of KOTET so there is at least that. It is the only known work around to being able to keep this companion. I did the same thing on a couple characters so I could keep Darth Marr.
  20. My Legacy name is "Pewpewpewpewpew", my main is "Mia Goespewpewpewpew". She is a bounty hunter and with title her entire name is "Mia Goespewpewpewpew Pewpewpewpewpew, Grand Champion of the Great Hunt". Yes, I do it to get noticed. Even in PVP. I like having an annoying long name. =) If you see me on Fleet (Imperial side) on Harbinger, come say hello!
  21. I agree with this 100%! I also recall that when you would hit Level 50 (the original level cap) there would be an epic fanfare that would play that filled you with pride that you persevered and put in the work to earn an end game level character. of course, back then, it actually required true effort. It was also great to get an awesome looking, end game, armor set that distinguished you as a level 50 player. It was basic PVP gear to build on but it helped you jump into Warzones and not be a hindrance and you were also ok to run level 50 flash points/ story ops to start collecting your gear. I still have the Veteran Armor sets for a couple of my older toons. I stopped wearing them until Costume Designer came around so now I can show them off while using better gear. Bioware: BRING BACK END GAME GEAR AS REWARD FOR HITTING END GAME LEVEL.
