  1. After reading this, you're probably better off starting your own group
  2. This Would be nice to have a player-friendly model in place but it's EA, so we already know the score
  3. This is what it says when you selected a PvP server And the popup says "This server is a player-vs-player server. This means that you may engage with and be attacked by other players frequently while adventuring. Are you sure?" If you can read those and then say it doesn't give you a clue what to expect then your getting there and being shellshocked and leaving is deserving of a Darwin award, and you want to talk about dooming humanity. Let's rejoice that you're in the minority here "This server is a player-vs-player server. This means that you may engage with and be attacked by other players frequently while adventuring. Are you sure?" I don't think nearly as many people as you think would read this "This server is a player-vs-player server. This means that you may engage with and be attacked by other players frequently while adventuring. Are you sure?" and conclude they wouldn't be ganked You and your friends are special cases, indeed Given the tone of your above text-wall, you should probably stop talking about butts But what I quoted here is as hypocritical as it gets, seeing as after I provided threads where hundreds of players said they were leaving due to things BW did (Cancelling ranked in 1.2), and then threads correlating the two (Servers dead following said patch), experiences from people who you know, were actually there, your response was refusal to accept it But hey, let's talk about who's spouting more BS between us, okay? Tell me more about separating instances being the best thing BW has ever done or how much weight you put into experiences of people who were there when it suits you vs when it doesn't. I'll wait.......... (Or not)
  4. Prior to the 90cc transfers they were still pretty dead, as many threads prior to June 23rd 2015 will illustrate PvPers were leaving the game, not just any certain server, due to their interests not being supported very well. This would be felt hardest on designated PvP servers and create a domino effect where when enough people leave, suddenly transferring is a better option. Similar thing is currently happening with PVE. Shadowlands, as an example, now is not nearly what it was prior to 4.0, and that's largely due to many of the endgame raiding guilds flat out quitting for lack of new content. They didn't migrate servers, they just stopped playing.
  5. That's nice, but judging from some of your posts in this thread you should probably be wiping those stains off your nose to get rid of the smell On a more related note, the things you highlighted are interesting. Players leave servers for a reason. PvPers left the game in droves for a reason. Raider left for a reason. These groups leaving in droves at very specific points in time point to the fact that they left because of something that occured at that time, the fact there are numerous threads specifying such reasons proves the correlation. For PvPer's , it was around update 1.2, which the thread i linked vividly illustrates. This guy also references such in his OP about his own server post-1.2, and there's no shortage of threads you can link that say similar things This is your statement from an earlier post: "PvP servers have never been as populated as the PVE servers on average and Bioware relegating world PVP to a separate instance was the best thing they ever did" The second point of yours is 100% nonsense (Where's your evidence for this fact, amirite?) and the first I'm actually interested to see your data for. I seem to recall many of the PVP servers being the highest populated for quite a while (Fatman being the largest overall US server of any type) Suggesting that players are leaving PVP servers due to being ganked, when upon selecting such a server it says in a pop-up what you're getting yourself into, is silly. Obviously, no large part of a PvP servers population would leave for somethingthey agreed to do upon joining the server. That assumes too many of them don't know what they want or just don't read, and while that may apply to you, don't attempt to claim it as a chief cause of a PvP servers decline
  6. Players are not the root cause of the death of any servers. Players are only doing what's in their best interests, as they should, as the devs have actively and repeatedly gone against such interests to every group of player at least once but some far more often and egregiously than others PvP servers were not always dead. In fact, early on, the PvP servers had great populations. What drove a great many of these players to leave was Bioware's fumblings with Ranked PvP seasons and other shortcomings (Remember this? Hyped this to the skies until cancelling it the day before the update). This is a common trend. Players don't leave PvP servers due to being ganked. They joined such servers FOR OWPVP. PvPers left the servers because PvPers left the game due to BW neglecting them. Obviously, PvP servers get hit hardest by a dwindling population of PvPer's so logically they migrate to the servers that can best give them what they want. Want to see this happening all over again? Look no further than the ignored and declining GSF community Similar thing for raiders. Broken promises, lies, severe content droughts and so on have whittled down the raiding community. Wondering why that top raiding guild from your server transferred to Harb or Red Eclipse? Largely because due to these servers being more populated, recruiting is less of a pain in the *** because more people will WANT to play there and DO play there. If this was not the case there would be a larger spread of top tier PVE guilds on different servers (POT5 actually had a couple of the top guilds in the world, for example. How about now?) TLDR this wouldn't be the glaring issue it s now if there were regular content releases and not so many broken promises. What we have now is a result of the direction the game has taken. Whether you worship BW or despise them, ignoring their part in how these servers are dying is foolish

  11. Population is really good. Not as large as Harbinger but honestly, it won't negatively impact anything you want to do. PvP pops are pretty consistent. Ranked less so but I havent noticed any issues q'ing for it If you're coming from a server like BC, Pot5, Bastion or Jung Ma, the populaton and activity difference is like night and day. So it'll be a big upgrade eiher way
