  1. I prefer keybinding over clicking, but it's not really that important to me if people click or use keybinds as long as they're doing the job well. Sure keybinders are bit on the slow side but even the PvP here doesn't require FPS level reaction times.

    NEW idea for WZ

Everyone will be using their healer companions. Nobody dies... at all.
  3. You can start with valor 10 and still be in a lvl 55 bracket with valor 90+ opponents. Also, the whole smash thing has been around even before RotHC. Even if I start the lvl 55 bracket (when smash starts becoming "OP") at 30 valor, I'd still have to go through tons of WZ matches. To say that I haven't come across a well-geared smashmonkey in hundreds of matches is ridiculous Before I bought RotHC, I frequently duelled lvl 55 focus guardians in end-game gear and still defeat them. This is running an infil shadow in war hero gear (with the expertise already removed) I have screenies to prove it. And since I never got hit by the "well geared" smash damage, does that mean there's plenty of damage mitigation going around that smash is not that much of a threat?
  4. As someone who just got back in the game (been out for half a year), I want to pay respects to the following people I dueled/fought at warzones/encountered at the outlaw's den. Zuhara - that assassin I never defeated in a duel, I think he was running madness assassin. He's still around and I look forward to fighting him again. Wrex - I remember people in our team were intimidated by the mere presence of this marauder, but I had the honor of tagging him a few times. He was quite a force to be reckoned with, but I do not know if he's still around Arocca Sixx (?) - That healer I can never spell the name. Very awesome footwork. Nigh unkillable even when isolated. I think the only times I defeated her was with the help of another teammate. Also... she's always next to Wrex Deyvon - The juggernaut that turn entire matches around. He cut's down foes like a hot lightsaber through pre-heated butter, and takes a lot to bring him down, healer or no healer. I also had the honor of fighting/chatting with him in outlaw's den. Grim Determination - I know many people have qualms with an entirely PvP guild in our server, but to me they are one of the most challenging opponents out there, especially when they fought together. Arkneon - A guildmate of mine and an excellent duelist. I'm always looking forward to clashing blades with this guy, also, he's running full tank instead of sweep/smash but he can still keep up with the rest. Musha - Perhaps one of the most dependable healers I've met in the Republic. His great positioning and skill management makes him great at winning a war of attrition Kammy - An operative/sniper(?) that I only met once or twice in the 30-54 bracket but she's one of those healers that don't die as soon as they get focused even without anyone guarding her. I've always been an infiltration shadow since 1.2 and I never felt useless in warzones or in 1v1 combat alike. While some may argue that they were rolling FOTM classes/pocket healers I don't really care; to me they're one of those people I'll always look forward to defeating.
  5. As someone that pvp's a lot even before RotHC (lvl 55, social IV, valor 60+) I've never been hit by those 10k+ smash/sweeps in the 30-54 and lvl 55 bracket. Most damage I got was 5-6k.
  6. At lvl 30 (later parts of nar shaddaa), I started doing only pvp quests and all available space missions. I was only online for a couple of hours per day due to work but I got my xp bar moving to almost 20-30% every time. I hit lvl 50 on belsavis then worked on the remainder of the story with an augmented War Hero gear + healer companion in recruit mk2. You'll feel like an invulnerable Jedi all the way! When I got the digital expansion last sunday, I did 2 warzone dailies, all available space missions at that point, plus section x, black hole, and belsavis dailies. I didn't even bother with Illum dailies and I hit lvl 55 in less than 10 hours ( 5 hours sunday, 5 hours the next. Another advantage of mainly PvPing to level is the insane amount of rest bonus you get so if you want to switch back to pve just don that lvl 20/40 suit you can buy at coruscant/dromund kaas and do quests that are around your level.
  7. Rule of thumb is expertise takes effect whenever you're fighting another player, whether warzones/duels/open PvP. - when attacking/defending against another player - when healing someone already engaged in combat with another player - when companion is healing you while you're in combat with another player - when companion is attacking/defending against another player (they count as fighting you, not just your companion) So PvE armor is still at a disadadvantage, wazrone or no warzone
  8. naga + nostromo and g13 + g600 There's nothing wrong with getting a razer or binding a 5 mouse button, it's what works for you that counts. You can even play with a 3 dollar mouse from a4tech and there's nothing wrong with that. The OP merely asked for bindings, not what is better. He already hez teh n@g4 so it's best to make the most of it
  9. awsum advice. been shutting down healers more effectively, although in the end they still manage to land some of those big heals. shutting down solo healers (INNERVATE!) just got a lot better for me as well I still can't interrupt merc healers properly tho.
  10. an f2p can hit the credit cap after 1 day in belsavis since the only thing they're not getting there is the chests (they still recieve the mod rewards and the full credit rewards. They can literally buy all their recruit mk 2 items over a weekend. The rest is just good old wz comm farming
  11. give it half a day tops. heheh. I spent my first half an hour getting used to my rotation against training dummies
  12. using a logitech g600, but it's pretty much a naga with a shift key for the thumb buttons Here's what I use for the side buttons, if you hold the mouse vertically and rotated it so the thumb buttons face you. note that this is using the 0/27/14 build, which trades off clairvoyant strike for force in balance, but it's still similar to 2/31/8 first row [Force Potency]-[Deflection]-[Force in Balance] 2nd row [Battle Readines ]-[Resilience]-[Force Wave] 3rd row [Force Slow]-[Force Stun]-[Whirling Blow] 4th row [Huttball]-[wz adrenal]-[wz medpac] As you can see, I grouped together similar abilities so they're easier to remember keyboard controls stealth - e fade - f blackout - q mind snap - r 1 - double strike (clairvoyant if 2/31/8) 2 - low slash 3 - shadow strike 4 - force breach 5 - project 6 - mind maze s+1 - force speed s+2 - speeder s+3 - spinning blow s+4 - spinning kick s+5 - tumult s+6 - whirlwind That's it. mind control and mind control is bound to gshift+g9 (thumb 1 on your naga) and gshift+g12 (thumb 4). maybe you can assign that to the two buttons next to the left mouse?
  13. You don't ask for a refund because of a price change the next day.
  14. on my other account (pref status) they did refund me for the 2 quickbar slots i bought and used when they added 2 free quickbars for preferred.
  15. Most of them treat it like a single player game with chat... oh wait..
  16. Here's the only thing i can think of for an f2p An f2p player at lvl 50 can spend a day or two farming belsavis dailies upon hitting 50 so he can get recruit gear. 1-2 more dailies for buying artifact gear unlock off the gtn so about 2-4 days before he starts farming for WH Still... I wish It was better for f2p people. dropping 4.99 to switch to preferred is a must.
  17. As lvl 40-50 dps shadow. You can solo SD-0 using the similar technique, and have done it 2-3 times. The trick is getting your companion to stay in one place. Your companion wont fight back but it -anchors- 1 end of the proximity laser to him -- the only thing dangerous to you which can be negated by standing as far away from your companion as possible (without having him teleport close to you). Keep the laser green before it goes off and you're golden Also failed 20-30 times hehe. That means it's possible but impractical... makes a nice achievement tho. For high health bosses that only have melee attacks/abilities, I just force slow them and then kite enough for tharan to heal me. You'll be needing teammates against other boss-type champions of your level that has AOE/ranged attacks/abilities edit: oh you were talking about taking them at lvls 15-20... never mind me. but yeah sd-0 can be defeated with overlevelling
  18. #@$@# all this time i've been waiting for the bar to fill up before low-slashing the guy. lesson learned what's the healing donut thing?
  19. Then I guess using it in a rated... -puts on sunglasses- ..is pure madness YEAAAAAAAAH:p
  20. I don't laugh, I just shrug then keep doing whatever I was doing
  21. I know interrupting enemy heals are essential in wzs but can you tell me the names of those major healing abilities for each healer class? When disrupting 2 or more healers I often end up interrupting smaller heals only for them to cast those big heals. Class and imperial/republic counterparts will do That's pretty much all I can do against guarded healers while my teammates try to get guard off those pesky sages/ops/mercs
  22. I think he's just saying that it does but gear alone won't be a game-changer. Proper positioning + skill usage still trumps stats any day. If players have nearly similar skill/knowledge, of course the guy with better gear has the advantage, but someone in a partial WH gear alt can still have a good chance of defeating an unskilled guy in full WH
  23. The fact that you actually need to have games where people are not hitting you to outperform in dps severely limits its versatility and survivability, which renders it mediocre for PvP. It may deal more damage, but working 50% more to get 10% more results on an inconsistent basis means it's not worth the effort.

    PVP High end gear

Since I'm not always doing wzs, I'd say they should make it that buying EWH only needs it WZ slot counterpart, not the exact wz set counterpart, but that wouldn't be fair for those who had the patience to grind. For now, getting full augmented WH + EWH mainhand is enough to keep you viable
