  1. I tried Pandaland with a trial account. I made a panda wizard (can't trial a monk because...who knows) and ran through some of the early quests. After about 15 minutes, I decided Pandaland wasn't for me. The graphics are chunky, cartoony, and vaguely juvenile, like a Facebook game. I also missed the questgiver cutscenes from SWTOR. I'll probably keep playing SWTOR until I exhaust the class stories.
  2. Probably already been said: After you kill your class boss on Dromund Kass as an inquisitor, you return later to find some servants cleaning up the mess. They ask you who killed the boss. You can just admit to it. Inquistor: "I killed him!" Servants: "Yeah...it's a shame we'll never know." Inquisitor: "But it was me...me me me me me meeeee!" Servant: "We'll never know..."
  3. Create a help ticket. State the name, level, class, and server that was the home of your deleted character. State the approximate time of deletion. Put the word "SCOOBY" as the first line in the ticket. Seriously. That's a search word used by customer service that means "character restoration request." I had a character restored about an hour after I made my ticket. And I deleted the character again a bit later. I have a graveyard of low level toons.
  4. Maybe it'll show up as a cash shop item at some point. I have a few toons I'd pay to adjust. I'd also be free to experiment with a few of the extremes in the CC. I find it odd that developers of even modern games like ME3, Skyrim, and SWTOR present you with a CC that has eleventy-seventy choices. Hooray for choice! But those choices are permanent. What's more, what you see in the CC only approximates what you'll see in the game. Later, you can change equipment, companions, and specs, but not your look, the aspect of your character that's paradoxically the most visible and the least significant. If you tire of the aberration you've created, you can put him in a helmet forever like Cobra Commander or reroll. If the latter, you're penalized by unskippable introductory material and setup again.
  5. You just complained that a new feature wasn't delayed unnecessarily.
  6. Although the VO would be easy--jawa gibberish for each player response--the companion romances may be awkward with a Jawa PC. Party Jawa is something I'd use once and then put in my cargo hold, but it's fine for a free item.
  7. I solo'd that fight with a level 50 tank-spec JKG dressed in quest gear and some pieces of the pvp recruit suit. I had a gimped T7 with me even though I knew better. Two attempts. First fight I didn't know what I was doing. He and I were down to around 25% when he finished me with some kind of execute power that did 35,000 damage or so. Cheap. Second fight I just targeted him exclusively and all but ignored the clones. I used my interrupts and buffs every time they were up. I didn't go below 50% health. He never fired off anything significant. I didn't kite or dance around pillars, I just had him pressed against the wall in his throne room while I beat him down.
  8. When I think of a wave, I don't think of a 360 degree blast, I think of an advancing line or a cone. For me, the name of the power is fine.
  9. I'd be more inclined to use the more extreme features in the CC if I knew the decision wasn't permanent. From a RP perspective, it might be fun to add scars after a chapter boss fight. I also wouldn't obsess over character names as much if I could change those as well.
  10. I'm doing that now. I don't care for end-game PvE or PvP grinds. I'll make 50s until I get bored with the game. The $15/month is inconsequential.
  11. So the guy in your group changed ACs from guardian to sentinel. So what? He'd probably play just fine after a little experimentation--it's not like you need 50 levels to learn your advanced class. And if he's a bad player, he'll be indistinguishable from Bad Player #1 and Bad Player #9 who are also in your group.
  12. A lack of phasing, GW or WoW style--when I blow up an AA gun, it should disappear entirely from the landscape. It's 2012. Lack of use of the Star Wars universe and the sci-fi setting. When do I get to fight in space (in a space suit) on the skin of a star destroyer in hyperspace? How about a fight inside an asteroid falling into a neutron star? How about a low gravity world, or one with twice the gravity, or one with a killer sunlight like Haestrom?
  13. I've found orange hats and robes that let me, effectively, toggle the hood. The dressing room item preview even shows me which robes & hats will work this way. Is there something I'm missing, given that this thread is so long?
  14. Why? What's the downside? If you grouped with, say, a guardian-turned-sentinel, how would you even know?
  15. Why is that hilarious? Appearance is a big deal in an MMO, especially for role-players. If you don't like the way your character looks, you won't play him. I rolled a female JK and a male JC. So far I've found orange gear for both of them that looks good and avoids big booty syndrome.
  16. I died twice at level 31 as a tank spec JKG. Even thought I was undergeared I was getting him down to about 15% before I ran out of interrupts and was hit by some cheap "execute" power. Anyway, I went to Fleet for upgrades, stims, etc. A lot of my gear was level 15, 20, 25, etc., since I hadn't been paying attention to it. I mentioned what was happening in guild chat, and a level 32 commando volunteered to join the 3rd run. We stomped Angral like a welcome mat. I already broke immersion by 1) getting killed, and 2) going to fleet while Angral just waited patiently for me, so I don't think I lost anything besides bragging rights and an hour of annoying deaths. So far Angral has been the toughest fight in the game for me. With Doc I just faceroll bosses now.
  17. Some people already rolled several level 50 toons. At that point, I hear there isn't much to do. I think BioWare underestimated the ability of players to consume content. I haven't run out of things to do yet, but my main is only level 31. Since I don't like OPs or FPs or whatnot, I think I'll roll up a few 50s and then retire until an expansion adds to the story. I don't see that happening in a F2P model, unfortunately.
  18. Do you really think it'll be fixed now that the game is going F2P?
