  1. *a horde of dead Inquisitor is magically resurrected*
  2. It can do something. You can finish enemies below a 5th of the maximum health with it.
  3. Does the original author even frequent the forums anymore?
  4. Well regardless of what Geroge's personal view of the subject is, I'm not here to argue the force. That was never my intention. Done it enough times and it is a dead end road. Just sayin' the Star Wars universe has changed since the 80's. If it didn't we wouldn't' have characters like Revan blasting away at people with the light and Darkside at the same time. Lucas doesn't really help the case any by not calling shenannigans whenever a Grey Jedi rears his head.
  5. We argued this to a great extent in "Code of the Grey Jedi" in the Star Wars General Discussion. I think the issue is a lot of the "older" fans of Star Wars have a hard time reconciling that George Lucas changed horses midway through the race. It happens. Stories change and ideas evolve. Meanwhile we have a newer generation of fans that grew up in an era where it was taken for granted that the light and dark are two sides of the same coin. There is a tension between these two schools of thought and it rubs a lot of fans the wrong way that both philosophies exist in the same universe. Some would rather it be either one way or the other rather than take the new cannon as a new cannon and dismiss what they thought Star Wars used to be about. I think the main issue at hand is acceptance. Lucas changed his mind or Is using the new themes to reach a broader audience at the expense of his older audience's perception of what they believed Star Wars to be about. At any rate, he has already irrevocably changed Star Wars fundamentally and it is up to you if you accept the changes and go with it or remain a staunch defender of the old guard.
  6. Fool, Do you realize what you've done? You've disturbed the slumber of the "cannonites"! *seeks cover*
  7. It is an unfair comparison. It is basically: The Skywalker Legacy vs. The entire history of the Jedi Order and Sith Civilization. Granted, that is an oversimplification, but a correct one at that.
  8. I think that comment is offset by the thugs/pirates that stole Tulak Hord's relic from Adronikos and the Sith Inquisitor: Main Thug (forgot his name): You're not getting the relic. I'm surrounded by some of the fiercest pirates in the galaxy! One if his flunkies: Wait a second boss. I think that guy is Sith. You can't pay me enough credits to fight no sith! One of my favorite moments in the SI story
  9. Current gen consoles have really been unforgiving to the Star Wars franchise. I don't know what they totally lost in that transition between gens that they can't make hits like KOTOR or Battlefront anymore. Even now, all we can really get anyone excited about on these boards are sequels to these titles that will never come out. No new innovating additions to the series (we'll see about 1313).
  10. I like the idea of a console version of SWTOR that would focus more on the single player PVE element of the game. Basically, take the MMO out of the RPG so it requires less maintenance and balance tinkering than its currently PVP-centric cousin on the Desktop. I would buy it because PVE on SWTOR alone is enough to keep me entertained, or throw $60 at whomever makes it one time rather than monthly subs. Though, the idea already sounds a lot like a KOTOR III already.
  11. My SI tried very hard to put "the moves " on her--to no avail, of course. When he realized it was a lost cause he dropped her like a bad habit because if he couldn't have her, no one would. I believe it made him a better Sith for that.
  12. Comparative to most storytelling not only in the game, but contemporary Star Wars media in general, it was well above average.
  13. It would make a lot of money. Especially with the current generation's console graphics and capabilities. They could do stuff that was hypothetical on a PS2/XBox. But really, to me Star Wars is like one of the biggest cash cows in the entertainment industry anyway and the fact it was canceled is just absolutely repulsive from a business perspective. Maybe next gen will see a B3. Think of how good it will be then... *poops self*
  14. I always considered Sion to be up there with Nihilus in a way. His immortality stemmed from his unwillingness to accept defeat and his unprecedented belief in his own indestructibility. Only the exile could put enough doubt in his mind to erode that because they shared the same master. Any other jedi or sith most likely would have failed. However, that is just my opinion and it is your list. So it's fine as is.
  15. I always felt scenes taking place on the Death Star were the best. The crew did a great job producing this "cold, mechanical" atmosphere whenever there was a scene on it. Silent, except for the distant beeps and bloops of computers and machinery, which still made the setting very hollow. Stormtroopers patrolling corridors and imperial officers at work managing logistics. Although I couldn't articulate it at the time, the vibe resented well with my young imagination and I remember thinking, "Yeah, that's what it has to be like on a giant space station". Order 66 was good too. Very depressing and emotional scene.
  16. Makes sense. In that case I apologize for being presumptuous.
  17. Man, I had a Sith Lord (Force using class) in KOTOR II that had a strength of 26 and a Wisdom in the mid 40's after utilizing the infinite exp. glitch. The result was a beast of sheer terror. I whooped Jedi Masters and Sith alike with my lightsaber. However, the real fun came in when I could use the Mind Trick to make boss characters like Darth Sion and Nihilus friendly for a little while. It was useless combat wise, but said a lot for a character to have that much willpower. I did get to use the mind trick to turn Kreia's 3 lightsabers against her though. That was fun. Enough about KOTOR, though. If you had the raw force power of a Jedi Sage or a Sith Sorcerer, would you, for all practical and combat purposes, use a a close range melee weapon such as a lightsaber and risk injury? Or would you opt to use your sheer command of the force instead and assault your enemy at range? I know I'd be the one force pushing or chucking debris or shooting lightning if I could. Anything to keep that dangerous lightsaber that could probably maim me, away. It is obviously the more tactical approach in a given situation. However, if the all force powers failed and someone got in my face, I'd still like to fall back on some old fashion lightsaber skills though. But I could see why, from a logical point of view, that Bioware designed the Sage/Sorcerers the way they did. Not just for the sake of game mechanics, but it just makes sense they would prefer to fight at range. Also, since when did not using your lightsaber not make you a Jedi? I always figured it was that whole,"Defender of peace and maintainer of balance throughout the galaxy" that made a force user a Jedi.
  18. Uh, KOTOR II's force wave affected everyone in a 360 degree radius of the user. I know this because it was a staple in my combat. Open up with a Force Wave to knock back and stun targets. Then follow up with a force storm to clean up.
  19. I have to admit. The sages seem to be taking the changes better (or at least in stride) than the sorcerers.
  20. How about a lightside vs Darkside thread? No, it would be more abstract than a regular character battle, but it is a classic theme and would probably stir up some good "debate". Other than that, I don't really have any character suggestions. There is just SUCH massive reservoir of characters in this almost infinite universe we call Star Wars, I shouldn't really need to make any suggestions. Just pick two and let 'em go at it. Faction/Civilization vs threads might be a good alternative too.
  21. I'm sick of going to Kashyyyk in video games because those stupid Wookies can't handle their own affairs. "Oh noes, the furry little critters are being enslaved by Czerka Corp." "Oh no, now the big scary Confederate Droids won't leave the smelly animals alone." "NO! Now the empire is launching the stupid mammals into space with the skyhook." Really, it's one thing after another with that planet, and I for one am sick of having my characters in various games being whisked away to the jungle to sort it out. On topic, I wouldn't mind visiting Katarr, Ossus, Steness (I think that is how it is spelled--darkside dragons, oh yeah), Thule, Or this Malachor III, where Darth Thanaton has so many pressing issues to attend to, apparently.
  22. Yeah, the Lightside/Neutral aligned Inq seems to have a more poetic flavor to it. I wish the Darkside Inq was as poetic, however I think the only way that it could be achieved is if the Dark Inq was to be killed at the apex of his power. Like, his plan for galactic conquest was unfolding inevitably his way. Then some unforeseen factor or hero takes a stand against him and kills him in a dramatic, yet tasteful fashion. It would be the way of many Sith, but that is why it would make it tragic and fitting.
