  1. The problem with this is that the Free to Pay system is so obtuse and restrictive that it actually negatively impacts me as a paying customer. What if I want for a friend to try the game with me? Two or three plants in i'm like 3-4 levels higher than him because I am earning xp at an accelerated rate. He/She can either try to make up the different in extra activites (Which is unlikely since she/he's limited to a few a week) or...Well, that's pretty much it really. The biggest problem here is that it negatively affects my ability to play the game with a friend without paying into a system designed to squeeze blood from a stone. At this point it isn't just a freebie problem, it's my problem as a -paying customer- and that's just not okay. Edit: In another note, another problem with this system is it leaves free players with little to do and consiquently they are less likely to stick around for an extended period. This may seem fine so long as new people are constantly comming in to try the game...Except the game has been out for three years already and the supply of curious people looking for something new is not infinite. Player retention even amongst Free players is just as important because it helps keep the server population up.
  2. Except it's free stuff I don't want that just clutters up the mailbox each and every time I make a new toon. I wish people would stop acting like I'm obligated to be thankful or grateful for being given some little toy in a game I pay 15 a month to play. Because the time they spent making that stupid pet or whatever it is they end up giving me is time they could have spent making new content. So in short i'd rather they just not give me anything.
  3. Honestly I thought it was completely dumb. The whole "Hunter is a woman!" thing strikes me as something they threw in there because they had to have a twist ending but they weren't creative enough to think of something else. I mean it was never even foreshadowed or anything like that. They just pulled it out of their rear at the last second.
  4. How about just make gear not count? This whole argument that "No I earned my gear" is completely moot. Your gear is going to outlive it's usefulness eventually anyway should they release more gear to continue the progression system. More to the point, why do people in the 1-49 brackets automatically level up? Shouldn't they have to EARN those levels in order to compete with me on an even footing? Who cares if separating the game into 5 level incremental brackets would do terrible things to queue times? They need to earn those levels in warzones, right?! Hear that? That's your argument slowly but surely crumbling.
  5. Hey now, Being a contrarian is my thing, tell that..that...THAT FIEND to back right off!
  6. This right here is exactly what MMO PVP should be. I applaud those guys at Rift and hope it works out for them.
  7. Well it's not the only tree in poor shape, I sometimes get the feeling the devs didn't really think things through in some places (Shiv and Backstab are redundant abilities, the concealment talent "Waylay" could just apply bonus backstab damage to shiv, removing the need for an entire ability and likely making the rotation smoother as a result) I would totally switch out right now actually but alas I am in loooove with non channeled force choke. <3 I guess i'll just have to wait and see.
  8. Isn't Cryptic owned by those Korean Perfect World types?
  9. Alternatively you could just remove the impact gear has entirely by standardizing stats across the board, making gear completely meaningless in fights, shifting the emphasis entirely to skill. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that PvPers don't really care about grinding for gear. So why even make gear a factor, just let'em wear what they want and have everyone have the same stats so fights aren't decided by "Who's geared and who's not" It should instead by decided by "Who has the better internet connection" like it was meant to be.
  10. Actually it doesn't. Resilience was a half assed solution to a problem because other solutions were beyond the technical limits of the time. But in this day and age? Let me ask you something: Would it not make more sense to scrap pvp gear all together and in warzones just completely standardize stats across the board for each specialization right down to the health point? Completely removing the impact gear would have on a fight, shifting the emphasis completely to player skill? A fresh fifty and a vet in full raid gear of identical specialization would have the exact same stats, their gear being completely irrelevant. To this, I point to the above comment.
  11. Well I can't say I would know anything about that, but thanks for letting me know it's not really worth altering skill rotation to make use of the AoE component.
  12. Well if their problem with it was too much damage, maybe an alternative would be to have the ability refund some rage points at five stacks?
  13. Okay so I was excited to get Crushing blow, but after seeing the aoe in action I feel kinda dissapointed, only once in a blue moon will it actually hit someone other than my main target because mobs just aren't close enough for it to be a reliable source of extra damage. Could this effect maybe use a wider area of effect?
  14. Really? We can't dispute it? Because i'm pretty sure people have BEEN disputing it since you first typed it out. You see, nothing you said is actually factual information, it's all just one long mean spirited opinion, and opinions by definition cannot be right or wrong..So yeah.
  15. Concealment could use some love to..If only to get rid of that *********** obnoxious clunky excuse for a "Rotation".
