  1. I don't think that's true, is it? I had a blue quality heavy armor robe for a while with the hood down, and there are several orange heavy armors that don't have a hood at all.
  2. What are current plans to increase functionality in the GTN? In my opinion, it is incredibly clunky to use both when selling and when buying items. I would LOVE to see functionality from other MMO tools such as auctionator make its way into the game. It shouldn't take 10 minutes just to post a handful of items. Making sure you're correctly pricing them is very tedious with the current interface. There are also a LOT of filters that could be added (schematic level, crafting material level, armor slot, etc.. etc..) and quite a few that aren't working at all in their current state. There are quite a few servers whose economies are suffering due to the tiny size of the GTN on one faction. Are there any plans to combine the 3 separate trade networks to increase item availability and flatten economic inconsistencies between factions/servers?
  3. And yet not a single one of them have any proof. You see, when you call something "so easy a monkey could" do it, and insult anyone who is having issues with monikers like "fail", you tend to get a lot of people on the internet to falsify claims to try to make themselves "look good", just as you are doing. Oftentimes these are kids, as their immaturity leads them to believe that making themselves look good is more important than telling the truth. It's a quite well studied psychological phenomenon that begins with a differentiation in the way children and adults delegate respect to their peers. So you'll have to forgive me in trusting my own experience instead. If in fact you WERE actually able to just tunnel the emperor and successfully solo the encounter, then you experienced the bug that prevented the clones from damaging you. Unfortunately that experience doesn't apply to the majority of people attempting the encounter.
  4. Because they're both tanks, and they were testing Protector for use in the 14/27/0 hybrid tank build.
  5. This is 100% bull&%*$. Did you video yourself doing this? Of course you didn't because it didn't happen and/or would show the other people in your group helping you finish him so easily. (It IS easy if you have at least one other player with you.) If you don't kill the clones, they hit you with thundering blast for ~700 apiece every 10 seconds. So if you only popped saber ward and ended with 70% hp, that means you did 32k damage to him in ~20 seconds... Get out of here with your completely fictional bragging.
  6. As others have said, you can't neglect Force Sweep no matter what your spec. However, the AoE radius is small, so breaking CC really isn't a big concern unless your party memebers are CCing mobs right on top of you.
  7. Just use T7 and be sure to force leap back in to stop his big damage cast every single time he knocks you away. (this means you need to NOT start the fight with force leap, otherwise it will be on cooldown for the first knockback) I actually beat it with Kira, but I had to send her in first, let her almost die before taunting, then ended up using every single cooldown and a medpack and still barely survived. MUCH easier with T7.
  8. Have you tried un-equipping her, relogging, then re-equipping her?
  9. Thanks buddy. I know I did. Don't beat yourself up too bad about being wrong, it happens to the best of us. Don't get me wrong, I actually prefer the Defense build because Focus Generation is just sooo much higher(as long as you're actually tanking) and the rotation feels a lot more satisfying to me. But that doesn't mean that it's superior in function.
  10. Were you always in Soresu form while testing? It would be amazing and probably prove that it wasn't a bug if the threat reduction didn't work in Soresu but DID work in Shien or Shii-cho. (not to mention show a tiny bit of foresight on BW's part)
  11. According to recent testing done by Paydroid and Blev, the threat reduction DOES NOT get copied to the Guardian. Is that intended? Impossible to say. Could just be a bug. But the tests are fairly conclusive. A guardian attacks an elite to get aggro. Two other players both shoot the elite a couple times to get a small amount of threat, then everyone stops attacking. Guardian uses Gleap over and over on one of the two, which should eventually force the elite to attack the third, but it never does, it stays on the guardian. Another test they let the DPS actually pull aggro and then Gleap to them, which immediately puts aggro back on the Guardian. I believe all of these tests were done in Soresu form, so maybe it functions differently in Shien or Shii-cho?
  12. Which would matter if healers were worried about running out of resources. And anyway, you're ignoring the fact that Commanding Awe is better than Shield spec and Inner Peace COMBINED. It's not a bad idea, you're just stuck on "what you know" from other games that don't apply here.
  13. It's just 5 greens, and doesn't really help with the fight in any way. Even if you completely gear T7 to the brim you still have to exploit silly LOS mechanics and get lucky to be able to solo it.
  14. Actually, you are. The only survivability talents you lose are 4% sheild chance, 4% internal/elemental damage reduction and blade barrier. You GAIN 4% endurance and 4% damage reduction that works on EVERYTHING. The 4% damage reduction from Commanding Awe is better than Inner Peace and Shield Spec combined. They're pretty much roughly equal without ever factoring in the damage reductions from Unremitting and Protector.
  15. No, but the person you were replying to (Atamasama) said "We have zero abilities that generate threat outside of DPS." So I wanted to make it clear that there actually WERE abilities that generate threat but do no damage like Force Pull/Harpoon. Wasn't trying to correct you, just add to your correction of that other guy.
  16. Actually, yes it did. The loading tip is misleading. Stance has always simply raised the chance for shield to activate.
  17. Rusk's AoE dps is better than Kira's. Use Rusk to steamroll groups of multiple weak's. If there's more than one strong+, Doc is still my go-to every time.
  18. Step 1: Get Duck Helmet Step 2: Replace mods Step 3: Who cares about hoods or hair, you're a Duck!
  19. During the GCD animation, it is VERY difficult to discern which abilities are "available" for use after the GCD finishes. You CAN tell if you look incredibly closely, but it needs to be obvious, not subtle. Even worse, you can't immediately tell which abilities are "available" even after the GCD animation is finished because they fade in. There is no reason for the "fade in"... It's slowing down the pace of combat for me in a remarkable way (which is bad). For players with high latency who have to essentially queue up their next ability during the GCD in order to execute a series of abilities in a row without a long delay in between each, it slows the pace even further. Solution: It needs to be apparent at a glance which abilities are ready but just waiting on the GCD, and which will still be unavailable after the GCD.
  20. But that's not the end of the story. Sure, we know that threat from damage is based on the amount damage done and that there are multipliers that can affect that amount from Soresu Form and other tank stances. However; it't not ONLY damage that can generate threat, and damage does not always generate threat in a 1:1 ratio. Let's look at 2 examples: Grapple - Does no damage, but still generates a static amount of threat. ModifyThreat: StandardHealthPercentMin=>1.6, StandardHealthPercentMax=>1.6 Hilt Strike - Does damage, but has its own specific threat modifier. SpellDamage: SpellType=>Force, StandardHealthPercentMin=>0.141, Slot=>None, Coefficient=>1.61, StandardHealthPercentMax=>0.181, AmountModifierPercent=>0.01, ThreatPercent=>0.5, DamageType=>Kinetic Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this means that Hilt Strike does 50% more threat than the damage it inflicts, and then that should again be 50% higher because of Soresu Form.
  21. First of all, rescue has a 60 second cooldown, so this would only work once per minute right? When you get pulled away from the boss or Gleap a ranged, he's not attacking you for a few seconds anyway. So isn't calculating the full 6 seconds from that buff misleading? And although if you look at the damage per attack in a vacuum it certainly appears that you're doing more dps in the Vig hybrid, lost globals used on leaping every 15-20 seconds (or focus deprivation if you're not) even the score between the two specs pretty handily. You dismiss Blade Barrier almost completely, but let's compare it directly to Unremitting using Best case Scenarios for both. BB = ~1200 dmg every 12 seconds, or ~100 average dps mitigation UR = 20% for 4 sec every 15 seconds, or ~5% average damage mitigation So you'd have to be taking more than 2000 damage per second for an extended period of time before Unremitting pulls ahead. Or if you're able to use it against 1 large damage attack every ~15 seconds, then that one attack would have to do more than 6000 damage before UR would make you less spiky than Blade Barrier. Scaling OBVIOUSLY favors Unremitting, but it is FAR easier to hit the best case scenario for Blade Barrier on the majority of encounters. In reality, the two specs are incredibly comparable in effectiveness (for now), they just have entirely different play-styles.
  22. @Paydroid - you had 2/2 protector while doing these tests? You never stated it explicitly, just want to make sure. I'm of the opposite opinion that Bioware probably DID intend the threat reduction to apply to the Guardian as well, as it is pretty high up in a DPS tree and practically every other DPS AC has a threat dump. Without the threat dump, it's clearly a tanking talent. Why would they put a tanking talent high up in a DPS tree?
  23. That is NOT how it would turn out, and you know it. Commendations cost time and after a few times through them, they are BORING. If you had a chance to either buy the best mods on the GTN all at once or farm the same dailies day after day for them, what do you think the majority of players are going to choose? What else is there to spend creds on when you hit 50 anyway?
  24. I disagree. Players shouldn't be completely dependent on crafting just as they shouldn't be completely independent from it. The right solution is to make both an option. Let players continue to buy mods with commendations if they so choose, but also let crafters buy schematics to craft comparable mods.
