  1. There is so much talk about solo players vs raiders while forgetting that a lot of us are something in between. Me and my bf raid, currently no NiM, been quite a while, but we've been there. I try to run some HM once a week for our smallish guild, and with new people, returning people, ungeared people we do have problems clearing some of the basic HMs sometimes. At least now 5-6 of us every time come fully geared and can carry the rest. This will no longer be a thing, there will be a motley crew of mostly conquest players trying to pull something together and it will not be pretty. Also, being the ones trying to make things work we have to tank, we have to heal, we have to dps, depending on what the others can pull off or refuse to do, so we need gear for all roles. The casual raiding will suffer, our occasional raiding with the NiM-crowd will be completely out of the question and to be honest I have lost all motivation to keep trying and that will be the death of another small guild. (even though it is barely twitching now at least there are some signs of life) At least when you could get BiS from other activities I could count on most people showing up in decent gear for raid-night. I could get my gear from more casual activities and then jump in with my more dedicated friends if I felt like it. All this will be gone - and why? Because the outdated notion that some people should have all the best things and the rest of us should just run a heroic and be happy litte story gamers that do not count at all as long as we pay. And outdated it is, no one "needs" BiS, especially not the best players (PvP excluded), but ironically it is the ones with lesser skill that can make the most use of it, where it can actually make a difference regarding what you can manage to do. Yet the best claim it should only be there for them to feel special. Give them bragging stuff sure, I'm not against that, but it should be things that does not change the gaming as gear does. Regardless what you may think of that as a concept it is too late to take it back. Once you let the BiS out so that everyone could have it, going back is not ever going to work. People will feel slighted, and rightly so. And what are we supposed to do? Honest question here. Once the little story we get is over and done with, we have no gearing to do that is worthwhile - what are we supposed to keep playing for? There will be no incentive, no reward to work for, nothing at all to keep us playing.... so... what on earth are you thinking?
  2. It dropped for me on Darth Malgus on May 2nd. So yes, it still drops.
  3. I did this with my bf and he paid, I did not get credit. When contacting support about it, the reply was as follows: "We have investigated the account and we would like to inform you that the reason you have not recieved the achievement is, you have not paid credits from your character. Since all the group member have to pay the credits, only then they are awarded with the achievement" So sharing the payment apparently gives you the quest, not the achievement, and it is working as intended. I have expressed my deepest disklike regarding this absolute ****-up of an achievement, it will apparentley cost you 150 million, no way around it. I would not mind having the glowy item cost 150 million, I do not want it anyway. But an achievement? That is just... so stupid I am at a loss for words.
  4. Thinking about it some more and what this does is once again discourage people to play their alts. Spread your gaming out too much and you might not get a reward at all. I would much rather have rewards every 300 levels or so without any reset. That way you won't have a time limit to race against, no lost progress, you can take your sweet time spreading the love between all your alts and eventually get rewards with all of them. Levels would still count, but without people feeling as if they are losing out. How often we get rewards would of depend on the reward of course, maybe a small one every 100 and something more substancial every 300.
  5. This seasonal reset annoys me too. If it does not matter, then why do it? It will not make me want to grind more, even if it does not matter on paper, there is a psychological effect from losing progress that is purely negative for me. It makes me want to stop trying, not the other way around.
  6. This week we made a push on imp-side to see what we could accomplish, then realized we could actually have a better shot at our chosen rep-side planet - only problem was that I and many others in the Guild had already used our "one time per legacy" goal on the imp-side so gathering points on the other side suddenly got very hard. This limitation needs to go. So what if it is repeateable? Those of us that wants to keep earning points with more characters all have the same chance then and the big guilds are already crushing us on the normal conquest weeks so if they crush us even more is irrelevant. The smaller guilds need to have a decent chance at winning if enough people work hard for it, Now you have placed a hard limit that means effort and dedication only go so far, Shouldn't the chance of winning be dependent on how much you want to work for it instead of how many people happen to be in your Guild?
  7. This makes no sense at all. If your guild of 20 have 5 people that want to compete and 15 people you cannot "get to do something" then no, those extra 15 should not help you beat 5 dedicated people with alts just by being there. And the point is moot anyway. Bottom line here is simple. By taking away the opportunity to win from smaller guilds you are killing an important part of the game. Regardless of how you think it should work in a perfect world, this game does not need to lose more activities and players. And before someone comes in to tell us small guild people "if you want to win that badly, just join a bigger guild" - no, I want something meaningful to do with my friends. Now the alternatives are lose the friends, which would make us leave the game, or lose the meaningful activity which will also make us leave. Lose/lose situation that needs to be fixed asap.
  9. I posted in the other thread too and the offer still stands. I was about to list some characters to message but realized a) I play too many so finding me that way might be difficult and b) I cannot guarantee I will still have those names come Wednesday But, I am here, I will check in, you can PM me or find me under the same name in the SWtoR Discord. Can offer help on Star Forge, Darth Malgus and Tulak Hord, if not 70s everywhere for every faction, but for runs like this it will not matter much.
  10. I will be on Star Forge, Darth Malgus and Tulak Hord, I would gladly help in making some stressfree, friendly Flashpoint runs too
  11. This is so true. I am thrilled to have the best gear I have ever had for most of my alts. Sure, to get all of them to 300 is going to take forever, but the reality of the whole thing is that everything you get from CXP is a bonus that I would not have gotten otherwise. I am not losing out, I do not HAVE to grind. When I go about my business, doing what I would have been doing anyway, I get stuff for free.
  12. I have always considered myself as having too many alts... but reading about all of you makes me realize I am an amateur Before the merge I have 20 / 16 / 4 characters spread over three servers and that is how it will remain. None of my servers will merge with each other, so for me there might be a few name changes and otherwise status quo. My reasoning for having them on such different servers is simple, my main Euro server, the East Coast US one I used to play with a friend on and finally the server I go to when I feel like practicing my German. Right now I feel lucky.
  13. I just want normal furniture, more variety of it. I find it uninspiring to try and furnish my home with statues, holos and other strange things. Some of them are fine to have, but I feel there are more "special" decorations than everyday life things.
  14. You think I haven't? But a side effect of playing a lot of alts is that you do not have great gear or high ranked companions on any of them, because I am more interested in playing the stories than grinding for gear or affection. I have been in there, and I have died, and died, and died and died. I am usually quite stubborn, but the thought of doing this over and over again 18 times.... that is not fun anymore. I want to finish the stories in the best possible way, but getting stuck because of being forced to group up is not fun for me at all. Oh, and I have finished the Shroud quest on one of all these alts, the seeds on exactly one as well. I run FPs sometimes, but those I can get into through automatic queues, no spamming and waiting for that.
  15. I would love this too, being able to finish quests without spamming fleet. When I am online I want to actually play, not sit on fleet and hope that someone wants to do a Starfortress with me. And I HATE having to spam chat to form a group. I have actually stopped playing the game because I do not want to start KOTET without finishing the Voss Starfortress, Before anyone tells me to get a guild - I play 18 alts on my main server alone. I do not spend enough time on any specific character to be "active" in a guild, and I doubt any guild would want all my alts. Alternatively add the story important group content to group finder, like the Shroud and the Star fortresses.
  16. Of course I have a spreadsheet and no one that knows me would be surprised. More like all my colleagues expect me to have spreadsheets on just about everything. I have a tab for each toon, keeping track of things like class, race, level, crafting, companion affection, which planet I am on and so on. Then I have tabs for equipment, played time, builds and all that other stuff you want a collected view of. Not nerdy at all... nope, not me...
  17. Sure the game should be challenging but if I, with, max Presence buff, all heroic moment skills, all crafters maxed out and thus pretty decent gear, if I am having issues, then someone playing their first toon won't have much fun with this. Us oldtimers need to remember that if the game scales to our level the new players will have a really hard time. Besides, I wasn't saying it was bad that I ran into a challenging fight, just confirming that the silvers hit a LOT harder now and that BW might have to check the balancing of said mobs.
  18. This isn't just the below 55 content, yesterday my 59 sorc died to two 58 silver mobs. Of course I could have lived but I wasn't prepared for the amount of damage they dished out and wasn't paying full attention, it should have been an easy fight. I take out those spawns now but always approach them with more care and use more defensive abilities, before this expansion that would never have been needed for such a fight.
  19. I did make a ticket about this but a search of the forums came up empty so I figured I'd post it here too. My ticket is a couple of days old and I've gotten no reply so far. I bought the Carth Onasi armour set and unlocked it for all characters way back and transferred copies to at least two alts, could be more. Now that I look at that armour in my collection it is no longer unlocked. Anyone had similar issues? I don't really feel like I should have to buy it all over again, there are better things to do with my CCs.
  20. 1: Once you stop getting xp the difficulty is trivial and hence the game no longer is fun to play. One or two levels is ok, anything above that makes the game too easy. 2: And here comes the big IF - if you just skip content - which is what most of us complaining about this don't want to do. I for one is running out of things to do and I want my content to last. And don't tell me to go make an alt, I have all 16 ACs, 3 at 55, another 5 at 50 (those are my salvation now when double xp weekend comes back since you can't overlevel that much 50-55) and 8 lower levels (18-45) that I don't want to play during these weekends. Leveling is crazy fast as it is and I can play a planet in one evening if I like. If I'm supposed to skip content to keep it non-trivial and only do class quests I'll finish three planets in one evening. I'd run out of things to do real fast. And once again no, not everyone want to do the pointless operation gear grind so I can get the gear to grind for yet some more gear. 3: You'll be fine at 2-3 levels above if you don't do flashpoints, heroics and warzones, normal quests keeps you at an acceptable level. 4: I don't give a damn about the gear aspect, with crafters of all kinds and planetary comms it's one problem I don't have. I've written this in several posts but people don't really want to read and try to understand. They come to these posts to post over and over again how they don't have any problems and they can't understand and thus no one else can have any issues *sigh*. What is even more fascinating is their need to come tell us how absolutely wrong we are for not wanting to play the game exactly like they do... Oh, and their favourite - "don't play". Well, I pay to play this game and to be told to just shut up and don't play the game is not much of a solution. As for the "easy fix" it could be. I wouldn't mind jumping to fleet to interact with an NPC or object to remove the double xp or rather give me a 50% xp debuff for the day. Heck, I'd go there once per hour if I had to and the people loving the double xp wouldn't even notice. Short version: Double xp means you either have to skip content or play trivial content. Some people just don't want that - how hard can that be to understand?
  21. I really disliked the first double xp weekends, this time it's not that bad. I still have five 50s to get to 55 and in that short span you can't overlevel that much But yeah, my lower level alts will have to take a break but I can live with that for just a weekend or two or whatever they end up doing. I can't say I get the reasoning behind having more of them besides catering to the crowd begging for them. It's like someone posted above "hurry, skip the content and run out of things to do..." That is, I get why the players want them but not why BW would give it to them.
  22. Posted in the bug thread but thought I should here too. I put a secondary colour in my Genteel dress top and my Tionese legs got the colouring just fine. That is they turned from their original brownish colour to the pure white from the Genteel top and the purple from the secondary colour. That means that it's not as simple as the system being completely broken in one single way, some exceptions actually work. My gloves turned almost all purple and my shoes I can barely see and can't check from here but if one piece of the Tionese set works as intended it's possible the rest do too. (sage set btw)
  23. Yep, I filed a bug about this too. Either they need to change the text to reflect that it is only strong mobs that count and in that case reduce the numbers to more reasonable levels in comparison to the Justicars or they need to change it so we really do get credit for all mobs. As it is now the text states one thing and the achievement works another way.
  24. Maybe I'll change the colour of my assassin's eyes. For some reason I made them a golden brown that doesn't fit the family tree at all. Then again, maybe I won't. My sentinel would look better with a slightly less Kermit-green hue and if they offer new hairstyles she might get one, otherwise I'm quite happy with the way my chars look. Hm, maybe my sniper could use a cooler hairstyle too but it sorta fits him and I'm getting used to it. A lot of it will depend on just how much it will cost and if I have to pay CCs for everything or if I can get away with credits for changing between existing "old" options.
  25. I figured something out about him when I tried to kill him the other night. If you run around long enough without actually killing him just focusing on staying alive and keeping your companion alive while trying to find the generators and kill an occasional refueling droid - he actually runs out of droids. I'm not sure if they planned it that way or just set a high finite number thinking no idiot would make the fight last that long. Either way that's how it is. I was hiding behind my pillar and suddenly realizing not much was going on, peeked out and saw him just standing there all alone. He was quite easy to take down after that. Did it at level 54 as a sorc btw, a whole 6k xp from level 55, kicked myself a bit about that part, you do get some useful upgrades to your skills at 55.
