  1. For those that have played republic on Tatooine - that quest to find Raith's loved ones.
  2. Actually, I'd love that too if the map wasn't part of the normal interface. Why? Well, when exploring areas I usually have the map up since moving makes it transparent. However when I'm moving in the lower regions of the map the UI behind makes it impossible to see any details of the map and if I turn the UI off - then I have no map either.
  3. You can have an accountwide friends list without knowing the other player's every character. If I add Bubba as a friend I want him to show up as a friend on all my chars. That doesn't mean I have to have all of Bubba's chars as friends or even know about them. It's up to Bubba to see me on his friends list when he's on other chars and send me a whisper "hey, this is Bubba, add me" IF that's what he wants. Same thing and even more important with ignore. It says on the loading screen that group finder will never make you join a group with a person you have on ignore, well... that only makes sense if he shows up on ALL my ignore lists regardless of which char I'm on.
  4. There are games like the Secret world where you pick up a phone first thing and then call in to get your quest reward after finishing, no running back and forth. Great idea, loved it. However, in many MMOs I guess they send you back in case they want you to see new questgivers for the same area but it's more out of habit than actually necessary. You don't HAVE to make quests that way.
  5. This really is quite personal. I've played 8 characters to 50 more or less at the same time. Playing three planets or so, switching to another, then the next and so on. Taking turns rep/empire side. Worked fine and I'm not burned out at all got a new set of five little alts that I take turns playing, although in a slightly less structured way. (felt a little put off only when four out of five had Taris as their next planet, more for a lack of choice than being bored) For me the switching kept me from burning out. Of course I never started grinding dailies, just logged in the next alt.
  6. What people fail do understand is the difference between repeated tries and outcome once certain things have passed. If you have 5 reds and are betting on the next spin then yes, your chances are 50/50 BUT if you plan on betting on six spins in a row BEFORE knowing the outcome of the first five, then the odds of getting five reds and a black are quite small. Therefore if you start with 100 packs the chance of getting something good is suddenly 30%-ish (someone made a good calculation above). Once you have opened 99 of them the chance of the hundreth is of course back to 1%. (or whatever the odds are set to) There IS a significant difference between looking at the odds of opening 100 boxes in a row and opening every box as a single event. With every box you open the odds for the whole event changes. until you at the last box land on the same probability as for opening one box. Maybe the coin toss makes a better example. Every single toss has a 50/50 chance at ending up either result. But no one would take a bet that they could toss 100 heads in a row. That is a very small chance indeed. However, have you already tossed 99 heads then you suddenly have a 50/50 chance. Same with boxes, when you start out the chance of getting crap in every single box out of a 100 is much smaller than for opening just one box.
  7. You do not need the big red ones even if they seem to be easier to catch it from. Last time I did this quest (last week) I got it from the very first normal rakghoul I attacked. If it bugs out though I assume no rakghoul is good enough. However, if the quest works as intended any rakghoul will do.
  8. Yeah, you're right but there will always be people like the OP that gets pissed at you, thinking you stole his xp. No matter what you do someone will yell at you. Makes it kinda pointless to make these kind of posts really, there is no "right" that suits everyone. Oh well, I got to vent my frustrations a bit anyway. And as for the guy I wrote about not being able to solo an elite - it was an elite area and I most likely walked in to the last stages of a bigger pull, not going to pick on him for that. He doesn't have to be a bad player just because he lacks people skills.
  9. Yesterday I ran into an elite area in Nar Shaddaa to get a datacron and came across a guy fighting an elite mob. I stopped to make sure he'd make it since it did seem a bit close but when I was sure he'd live I ran on. Then I get a whisper sarcastically stating how nice it was of me to help instead of just staring. I simply replied that I help if people need it, not otherwise. He goes "so you have a policy of helping by not helping, how nice" I sigh and just tell him I only help if people really need it. Then he goes off on how I'm still arguing with him?!?! I'm like "excuse me? who's arguing? and am simply told I'm still arguing. At that time I told him what I thought of his behaviour, welcomed him to my ignore list and told him that if he didn't want a reply he shouldn't be sending pissed off whispers in the first place. Later in the evening I jumped in and picked a patrolling strong mob off a guy running away with little or no health after his first fight - not thinking twice about it because if people really are in trouble, that's what I do. No thanks but that doesn't really matter. At the same time I've been irritated when a sage/sorc jumps into my pack of alreday tagged mobs and blows them all over the place. Not enough to be rude, just sighing to myself. What I'm trying to say (when done venting a bit ) - you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. Can't please everyone, can only try and be as nice and helpful as you can.
  10. I find that assumption kinda rude. I mean, I don't mind / care what gender a person is and I don't assume anything. But when people send me tells like "hey man...." (actually happened yesterday) I get... well not pissed but it will get a negative reaction from me, how bad depends on my mood I guess . You can talk to people without forcing your assumption about their gender on them. And yeah, I play female toons almost exclusively, it's all about being able to relate to my character.
  11. It would work just fine with legacy if your new little alt only got the benefit from the datacrons after finishing the class quest on each planet. If you finish Tatooine and your 50 had taken all the datacrons - ta ta, you get them too. Would be absolutely great since I like getting them, I've spent over an hour on some, trying to get all the jumps right but once is enough.
  12. Heh, I was actually on Taris on Rogue Moon yesterday, Imp side with my BH but it was rather late and I was running on empty, more or less just wanting to get my class mission going before I logged. My usual problem is this - when I find a heroic mission I don't pick it up since there is little or no chance of getting it done. Then when people ask LFM or LFG this and that mission I never know if it's one I'm supposed to have come across already or if it's something in an area I haven't gotten to yet and I end up thinking "naaehh, maybe next time". Or I'm in the middle of working my way through some area and don't want to have to come back later and kill everything again. Or I'm just too tired to want to have to think about what I'm doing . Or I've just spent the last hour (read Tatooine and Nar Shaddaa here) trying to be Mario and get to some stupid datacron and just HAVE TO finish. Stubborn yeah, I know. There are lots of reasons not to, not all of them meaning I'm anti-social, usually just caught up in my story
