  1. The CXP system definitely needs some tweaking, and it appears they intend to according to yesterday's stream. I actually recommend looking into crafting 228 gear. You could have each member of your family focus on crafting different things and work together to gear everyone. That actually sounds pretty fun.
  2. I don't know what your price range is, but it would be wise to steer clear of integrated graphics. I suggest something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834298770&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Gaming+Laptops-_-N82E16834298770&gclid=Cj0KEQjwjK--BRCzv-Wyu4OTosEBEiQAgFp5ODvUyH9Zfum9tKXr1gWSldNt0LjElmf9RX-Vn48GxxgaAnjn8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds Or spend a little more for a laptop with a GTX 1060 (like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834154297&cm_re=gtx_1060_laptop-_-34-154-297-_-Product and be good for a few years. You could also wait for laptops with a GTX 1050, assuming they are coming.
  3. This idea is heavily inspired by Kylo Ren's lightsaber. I would like to see an "unstable" lightsaber, similar to Kylo's but without the crossguard. Regular sized hilt and saber effects that are similar to the volatile derelict lightsaber but with the visual along the entire beam as opposed to just near the hilt like you see on the volatile derelict. The main thing is that it needs to be loud, both the hum, power-on, and strikes. Here is an how Kylo's lightsaber sounds: . It would be cool to have something truly savage sounding, and I think Kylo Ren's saber did a good job with that.
  4. I did not read the whole OP, but I will say that my view on F2P or at least preferred is that it is about where it needs to be. I would only change a couple of things, first get rid of the need for Artifact Equipment Authorization and let unify colors and hide head slot be unlocked free for preferred.
  5. As others have said, it runs fine on W10. But make sure you get the official windows troubleshooting tool that disables auto downloading and installing of drivers. Then use Display Driver Uninstaller and reinstall the latest driver manually.
  6. It's not canon until Disney says it is. Personally I don't care if it is, I love it and it will continue to be canon in my head forever.
  7. Obviously there will be after KotFE lore-wise. But I hope we never see it in-game. I'm so tired of it, I think KotFE was a nice departure from the tired story of Pub vs Imp that is ubiquitous in the Star Wars universe.
  8. Unless they have changed it recently, you can just take the hilt/barrel out of the offhand saber/blaster and use it in your mainhand. This applies to the 208 offhand only.
  9. I've been playing SWTOR for a long time now, and I don't remember it (the single player content) ever being a challenge. With the exception of my very first character, and that was because I didn't know anything about the combat mechanics at the time.
  10. I'm still baffled over why people want the story stuff to be challenging. It has never been the case, so why the change all of a sudden? Challenge exists in higher difficulty Ops and PvP. Also, as for my earlier remarks about disabling companion ABILITIES to increase your challenge, that is just what I meant. Not disabling COMPANIONS, unless you want to, as some people thought I said. Yes this would be an artificial increase in difficulty, like all increases in difficulty in video games. Just a self-imposed one, but it is something you can do now, and something people against the nerf can't do (to make them more powerful) if there is another nerf to companions. The best solution would be some kind of equip-able item that does a flat 50% nerf to a companions stats/power. Edit: I just want to add, I disable my companion's abilities, and sometimes just dismiss them all together, often so I can work on my rotation in more realistic scenarios (as in, not on a dummy).
  11. I don't understand what you are talking about... What does that have to do with what I wrote?
  12. While that would be nice to have, you can just disable some of your companions abilities. That is in-game right now, no nerf needed.
  13. You just compared this game to a job. I think that shines a light into your expectations of the game that puts you at odds with probably 98% (yeah I made that stat up, but I'd wager it's close) of the playerbase. It is perfectly ok to want something to work towards that is challenging, that is what Ops and PvP are for. If you want to do more work after the buff tomorrow you can always disable some of your comps abilities, or even put them on passive. I work to live, not live to work.
  14. Yeah that point can be heavily dependent on what class you are playing. Some are more squishy than others, so the other options I listed may work better in the case of classes that aren't.
  15. You're joking right? Cryptic? As in PWE? The studio that gave us Delta Rising? STO, which I have a lifetime sub to, treats its customers much worse than EA/Bioware ever have. I am honestly surprised that game still limps on.
  16. I see a lot of people talking about how bad it was to have OP companions. I want to give a few easy tips/options to increase your "challenge" - if you can call it that, while playing solo content, not Ops or PvP - which is where you should be going for challenge. Here are a few different things you can do to increase your "challenge": 1. Put your companion in DPS mode only. You will find, especially when doing higher level heroics on planets like Belsavis, Hoth, and Makeb that not having a healer can increase the challenge a good bit. 2. If you still find it too easy, or insist upon having a companion in healer mode, try disabling some of that companion's abilities. This can reduce the amount of healing your companion can do. 3. If the above two options don't cut it, put your companion on passive. Or dismiss them all together. These are all OPTIONS, they don't affect anyone but yourself, unlike massive nerfs to everyone's companions. It really is a win-win. I feel the next patch will be a good compromise between useless companions and OP companions, so this guide is for people who are afraid that the upcoming buff will destroy their gaming experience.
  17. I was pretty frustrated with the 4.0.2 update, but this dev post was thoughtful and it goes a long way towards my outlook of the game. I think this will be a good compromise between 4.0 and 4.0.2. companions (which were actually so bad as to be broken). Thank you for the communication, please consider doing this more often.
  18. The biggest problem I have is that there was no need to nerf the companions as much as they did. Wanted more challenge? Put your comp on passive or dismiss them. It was that simple.
  19. I think the lesson is that you actually need to test big changes on PTS before rushing them to live. And of course you need to listen to feedback from the PTS when you do that. I could have dealt with a reasonable nerf, but this nerf made companions feel like pets and nothing more. All this could have been avoided if the people who wanted challenge just put their companions on passive or dismissed them while fighting.
  20. Now that I've had the chance to try it out, I have mixed feelings. I tested a handful of H2s at varying levels with a Sorc in 216 partial DPS set bonus, lightning spec and Lana Beniko set to heals at influence 21, also legendary player presence buff. On imp side I tested H2s on Balmorra, ilum, and Belsavis. The first two were easy as pie, Belsavis however was difficult. I died on the first group, comprised of 3 elites and a few easier enemies. These enemies are in your path so absolutely no way to pass them without stealth. I think they went a little too far with the nerf, I will most definitely be playing less because of this. Also, when my sub time runs out I doubt I will re-up. Had this year not have so many great game releases it might be a different story for me, but with Fallout 4, Battlefront, and JC3 soon, I see no reason to put up with nonsense like this for the time being. If I need to scratch my MMO itch I can hit up Wildstar or GW2, even STO if I'm really desperate. Edit: The heroic on Belsavis is called Breakthrough. Just in case anyone wanted to give it a go.
  21. I'm still patching so I don't know yet. If it's as bad as people are saying... yeah I'm gone as soon as my game time runs out.
  22. No, that CPU will bottleneck that GPU. Your best bet would be to get a new motherboard, an Intel CPU and that GPU. Or at the very least get a new CPU. This one is the same socket type: AMD X4 760K. Also upgrade your power supply to a good quality 500 watt at least for that CPU + GPU combo.
