  1. so now we've gone from a week to 3 days notice? nice try. it is not 100% honest. they no doubt worked their butts off to meet this release date. When they realized, with all the feedback from the pts (and changes based off that), they needed more time, they told us right away. I'm sure they just came to the decision today and yesterday evening at the earliest. And yes its two months, but I'm sure that's more time than needed. better to have more time than less and delay again
  2. okay and I'm sure you weren't one of the people complaining they didn't announce it months and months ago. Since the forums were full of people angry that there wasn't a release date yet. And I advocated for them to wait, since their updates/expansions often get delayed. And here we are delayed. So how would you like it? 3 months in advance, 1 month, 1 week? either way you wouldn't be happy and the only insult is players thinking they've been taken advantage of. no one forced anyone to get a sub early
  3. I think the 2 month time frame is just so they don't have to delay again if they have to. You would rather have more time than needed, than not enough time. otherwise we're right back here
  4. i don't believe that was their intention. I do not believe they were trying to commit fraud. Did they push as hard as they could to meet that date, and then realize well we can't? Notice how it was a "hard" decision. And again the expansion wasn't due to release today... if you really want to sub for new content wait for the new content to actually drop. But again, I'm in support of BioWare doing something to make up for it.
  5. Umm that is false. They've made the announcement a week before, and even a day before. This is nothing new. especially this time with all the feedback from the PTS. And please don't call yourselves victims. And also wait for BioWare to respond. In the past they've tried to make up for it, so they may very well do so again
  6. Support what behavior? them trying as hard as possible to meet the original date? I support that. But I'm also realistic and understand the conditions we're all under. I'm sorry that you care about entertainment more than world conditions. Yes who cares if thousands of people are dying, can't go to work, can't afford food or shelter... or big worry should be Eduardo getting his video game. This is the behavior that I cannot and do not support. I'm sorry if you feel scammed but I don't believe that's what BioWare intended to do. And wait for them to respond, who knows what they will do in response, or give to players as a sorry. They have done that before
  7. how many delays have been announced for major companies the last almost 2 years now? hundreds, thousands? It is still safe to hold off on doing anything, until we are 100% sure something will actually be released or done. new or old players.
  8. i don't imagine them taking this option away. And they've cleared this up pretty well recently. if you have an existing toon (force user) that is aligned to the opposite side, you'll have the option to pick your mirror class upon log-in. For more detailed info I'd check out the dev tracker (jackie and chris' posts)
  9. scummy? no. I believe they fully intended and wanted to release it when they said. But lets see... we're in the middle of a global pandemic that has effected everything. There were a ton of complaints from pts testing. There were a lot WIP on pts that clearly were not finished... while most are working form home. So no i don't think it's scummy It's not the players fault, but it's a lesson for everyone: Don't sub early, and don't take your vacation early. It happens every expansion. People complain about subbing and taking time off work and then they have to delay and people complain. It's scientifically proven that it's safer to sub or take time off when said expansion actually releases
  10. for those complaining about subbing for the expansion... don't sub until it actually launches and is released. removes that trouble. most players know, every expansion and big update has been delayed. if i remember correctly even 6.x (something) was delayed two months.
  11. yes we assumed renown would be around for a while. However, when they introduced renown they even told us that our lvl would be reset (especially with any expansion as those usually include a lvl increase). so you've know since 6.0 to hit 999 before 7.0 hit. otherwise there was the (i would say 99.99% chance) of not getting the titles and achievements for hitting 999 and 100 with all classes. So them removing renown for 7.0 actually didn't change any requirements for you to get said achievements before it drops
  12. I honestly can't wrap my mind around your question. But I'll try. If you are a sub you have access to TWO Combat Styles. Whichever one you want to the "main" one is up to you. whether that is the first or second. I think you're confusing yourself to be honest
  13. Tech classes were never designed to be able to swap to their mirror class as force users were going to be able to. its more for a lore reason force classes can
  14. actually, that is not correct. accounts that have dark/light 5 will not be able to swap to their mirror class. they will have to use their second combat style if they want their mirror class something that i posted earlier that is relevant to think about
  15. yes you will be able to. for 1 of 2 reasons if not both. 1. you are an imperial toon, so that auto grants all imperial combat styles. or/and 2. you've unlocked dark 5
  16. Thanks for the update Jackie and Chris. I think for us existing players, something just popped into my head. Yes, newer players will get the added benefit of swapping to their mirror class without taking up their second combat style. But let's remember that the light/dark toggle is going away. See new players don't have the option to pick their mirror force class as they won't have dark/light 5 yet. And without that toggle (veteran players should remember), it takes a considerable effort to achieve that. Especially if they aren't doing all the exploration missions it could be well after chapter 3. We have the benefit of having all mirror classes unlocked (granted that we have dark/light 5, which with the current system is insanely easy and fast). And if they decide they want their original back, it's not like they can swap again, they'll have to use their second combat style. And again, I was all for being allowed to change our original combat style as intended. But I can imagine the technical difficulty. Do you remember when they tried to add everything possible to the Cartel Market, but there were cases where they were unable since some items were so tied to the pack they couldn't separate them? And that is something that would have gotten them money, but due to technical issues, they couldn't. So i could see where the issues might arise when trying to strip away an existing toon of their original combat style as they were never intended to be removed. Let's just look forward to being able to choose more combat styles in the future, with brand new combat styles. Sorry I'm trying to be positive, tired of being negative. Just want me some SW
  17. That is for new/er players. They have a small window of opportunity to SWAP their primary style to the mirror class (as long as they haven't unlocked light/dark 5 for their legacy or finished chapter 3 yet) For most everyone else we have to burn our 2nd combat style on our desired style (only limitation is tech-to-tech and force-to-force)
  18. well there will be no delay for that. all existing toons will have their primary combat style locked(1). The plan was we could choose 2 new ones but now we cannot. And no, there is no fix in sight to correct that. And I honestly don't remember when an expansion was released on the original date. I would expect it to be a 1 week late at least (1) new/er players will have an opportunity to swap to their mirror class on 1 imp toon and 1 pub toon as long as they don't already have dark/light 5 and haven't finished chapter 3
  19. can you please stop saying you're playing on Master difficulty. That toggle is for KOTFE/KOTET. Otherwise the remaining story missions are all the same difficulty (which they've set to make it so most players can make it through the story, which is very important to <safe to assume?> at least 50% of the players). If you want more difficulty, don't lvl up your comp, dont upgrade your gear, and don't use a healer comp And I'm not sure who said lvl sync ruined the 1-50 experience. I would say with how fast we lvl up, it did the exact opposite. Because before lvl sync if you were higher lvl than the planet you could literally walk by enemies without stealth. Sneeze and wipe out the entire map and solo the world bosses. so no lvl sync actually helped with making the game more difficult
  20. that is false. if you have ligh/dark 5 legacy achievements unlocked, you can pick your mirror class as the second style. he is not forced to only choose dark side
  21. I would not say penalized, but yes what you said is correct. and new players will have the opportunity to do it once on 1 imp and 1 pub toon. and even then they'll have to be very careful not to make them ineligible. So yes you'll need to use your second combat style if you want your mirror class (or another force style).
  22. I asked Chris if the technical issues can be changed at a later date and allow existing toons to have the option to change their original combat style as planned. His response: So I believe our best hope is having the ability to choose more than two combat styles in the future, which I feel like they will have to do if they really are going to add new combat styles (which has been implied in the live stream and Chris)
  23. thinking about all the requirements and restrictions, at most a new player can only do this twice. Once on an imperial toon and one on republic (and yes obviously only force user class). and they have to be super careful not to hit dark 5 or light 5 on a nonforce user class if they want to do the swap instead of using their second combat style. Because as soon as they hit light/dark 5 that automatically takes away their ability to do it again. And Chris did say in a private message, that due to tech restrictions it's doubtful that existing toons will ever be able to switch (beyond what we already talked about). he said never say never, but don't expect it. So we'll just have to wait for more combat style slots (which we should get once they start introducing new styles) it is a disappointment and yes we should have known sooner. but id rather have the two weeks to decide what to do than wait for 7.0 to hit Interpretations can be wrong. and that Post was stating very clearly (along with the interviews and livestreams) and confirmed by Jackie and Chris, that the article was telling us that we could switch our first combat style on our existing toons. So yes we can use that for our argument without rebuttal due to the stated facts above. Now we know that the article is incorrect and has been updated to reflect that. so i really hope you can be happy with - we were all right in our ways. You had the notion of how the system works now, while we were right with how we thought it was going to work. So let's be happy with we were both right, instead of finding ways on how only you were. this will be my last reply to you (on this subject) because I don't think there is any reason to fight or argue our points any further.
  24. Honestly, I don't know what to say anymore. yes it seems like they've known for months. but i feel like if i say anymore I'll just be banned. but i feel you and i'm sad too
  25. although to be fair, we were also right in our thinking. the plan was for us to change our original combat style. and all signs pointed to that being the case, until I asked Jackie to jump into the thread. So I guess congrats you were "right", but so were we and they'll still receive backlash, even though it's the official channel, I can't even begin to describe how many times I've had to tell people to go red the dev tracker for updates. but they refuse... having the ability to at least swap our force users on our first combat style makes this better overall than having to have your mirror class as second style.
