  1. That is way too much work. It's not worth fighting the mobs in that one. Just run through them all, throw your grenade or whatever and then jump to your death. Takes 30 seconds to finish that mission
  2. I would highly recommend getting your companions influence much higher than 10. 50 is the max and is what most people run with
  3. As I and others have stated, Chris is a huge reason the game is in this state. So really we take what he says with a very small grain of salt. and no, that pool of money will mainly go to EA still and fund their other games. Don’t expect EA to start pouring more money into TOR. This move isn’t to give them more money (notice half if not more of the current devs are losing their job)
  4. You don't think we want to be positive about this change? It is incredibly hard to excited. What we can see and know about Broadsword, and the fact that half (and most likely even less than that) of the current devs are staying on... with how about new content, balancing and the thousand other issues are already happening with the current team. It raises serious doubts it can be more successful than now, and the best we can hope for is that BS does put it in maintenance mode and keeps it alive for a few years. I will grant you that there has and always will be the "sky is falling" group of players. But this time is 100% different. It is understandable that there are doom bringers because it doesn't feel great this time
  5. That adds a lot more insight into UO, thank you But I did mean Chinese unless they only support Chinese as a language. It looked like they have Chinese; English; Japanese; German; French; and Korean
  6. I wonder too how the rumors of LucasFilms being sold off is playing into this as well.
  7. Yes because you haven't assumed anything about the move... like no new content only new CM items...
  8. It's very clear that you are a fan of UO. But "reasons" is not proof of anything. And what can you show that support that UO players spend more money than TOR players? There are some whales here who spend a lot of money, and hundreds and if not thousands who probably drop small charges here and there. It's a big reason why if the store ever goes down it is fixed right away. Because that is where they get their money. And it is very hard to compare UO to TOR - they might as well be different planets. I can see that that have Chinese servers - so I could see UO pulling in money from there. They have a very different market than us and I imagine their costs for their game is far less to maintain.
  9. Sorry but Chris’ twitter does not reassure me at all. His direction and only listening to his band of nim players in their private discord is a huge reason why the game is a mess right now. When he acknowledges the fact he ruined the game for many, maybe I’ll listen more. id rather listen to the people who actually stayed on and tried to fix the miss.
  10. That or this is an inactive account that the Devs use to post positive comments for them
  11. Yes I'm sure all the Devs former and Current are reaching out to YOU personally to make you feel better about this deal... please enlighten the rest of us, as we've done the research and there is not a shred of evidence that points to optimism
  12. Thank you Keith for popping back in. But sadly we cannot take your word for it. We cannot take it on BioWare's word or EA's word. The track record is not there. This feels more like damage control, I imagine a lot of cancelled subs have scared some people and they don't want to lose any money until they can't spin it no more
  13. Sorry but there is no guarantee that 35-40 are even going to move there. I wouldn't trust any number EA tells us right now
  14. Unfortunately as others have said, this was probably done to make it easier to move it to another company. I would not expect any graphical or animation improvements. We'll be fortunate enough to get another major update of any kind
  15. We know some devs may transfer. I honestly wouldn't believe any of the numbers they reported. If they already have gotten 30-40+ devs to agree o move, I feel like this would have leaked sooner. I believe that number is what they are hoping to see happen but I wouldn't count on it. This all feels a lot like what happened with Anthem - promised continued support; showing off the cool new stuff; to then just cancel it all. I don't believe we'll see 7.4 released. They'll talk it up and then it will be canceled
  16. there has and always will be people who look to get outside of the "box" and unfortunately those few will cause further changes to happen that will be detrimental to others players and not necessarily themselves
  17. You really just made another account to post this @optotiger? Seems like you are more worried about having to pay the tax than worried about trading with your brother. And I don't believe you could get around the tax by putting an item on the GTN for 1 credit. Because it will be based off the past sales made. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong there) And large active guilds, will yes be taxed, but if they are large as you say, it won't really hurt them that bad since they should have a steady flow of credits coming in
  18. I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that Taxes are canon or in lore. They're point is that in this case the appropriate name for them is Fees, which I fully agree with
  19. It is good to have different ideas and opinions. But people will absolutely abuse this system. It is not a lot of effort especially if you just have a toon made for trades (and doesn't effect any of your main ones). Their solution is probably the best one they have. And hopefully the amount of tax paid will decrease as prices go down. Or you'll just need to limit how many items/prizes you give out
  20. You just have to pay a small fee to get smuggled to the opposite faction SH. but either way it wouldn't be a problem. although I think there are better options for new SHs than Taris
  21. LOL well that wasn't how it was planned. hopefully they'll figure something out for Guilds. But i could see a case where new guilds are made just to circumvent any Fees
  22. There have already been people talking about this and trying to find a way to get around it. So there is absolutely groups of people who would abuse this. It's much better just to cover everything
  23. If he has seen any actual exploits, it's best not to ask or share them on the forums. While I'm sure there is a small population of players who do love to "cheat" I don't think it is very common. I haven't seen any in months
  24. When steam first launched I would agree that many players switched over. But once Bioware updated their own launcher (and got rid of BitRaider) it was actually faster and I know many players stopped using Steam. So Steam does not give us the most accurate of calculations
