  1. Are you REALLY going to take time off work to download a video game? Where are your priorities? /facepalm .
  2. I am. For over a year I have watched and waited for bugs to be fixed that just got added to the Known Issues list. Then a new update gets introduced which added more content and a whole lot more bugs, followed by patch after patch, then they just dumped the rest of the bugs on the list. More updates = more bugs, and there has been no talk of anything being fixed. Sorry, but BW does not have a good enough track record that I am ready to BUY an expansion. I wonder how many of you will spend your launch day reporting bugs instead of actually being able to play the new content. How many patches will it take to make the new planet playable? Isn't it odd that it hasn't been tested on the PTS? Isn't that what the PTS is for? Good luck to all of you. I remain skeptical. .
  3. Okay, Eric. Then how do you explain the Cartel Packs that contain crystals offering +41 stat bonuses? I never found any of those dropping from PVE mobs. Any crafters out there have schematics for these BEFORE the Cartel Market?
  4. "Last spring, there was some uncertainty surrounding Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ as we were starting to lose subscribers and players were growing frustrated. In fairness, many of the complaints and worries were justified. In an effort to try to address everything, we just weren’t sufficiently focused on improving the core experience. "At the end of the summer, we announced that were going to make the game more enjoyable than ever before by working to improve three key aspects of the game: making it easier to find friends to play with (via Group Finder), increasing the cadence of our content updates (so players wouldn’t have to wait around for new stuff), and bringing back vitality to the game by reaching out to new players via a Free-to-Play option. In addition we introduced some cool new items for everyone to check out via the Cartel Market." Who decided that these three key aspects of the game were the ones needing improvement? I never had any problem finding friends to group with. I DO have a problem with the cadence of content updates because they seem to get released before all the bugs are worked out. I never felt any need to reach out to new players by offering a Free-to-Play option, in fact I was against this. Most of the F2P'ers I have encountered are children with whom I do not care to play with. In some parts of the world, roleplaying (even on a roleplay server) with a minor can subject you to criminal charges. Our guild is "adults only" and I prefer it that way. I don't know which forums the devs are reading, but when I read them I do not come to the same conclusions that these are the three key aspects that needed improvement. F2P was to lure in more subscribers, especially those who cannot obtain a credit card. The Cartel Market is all about cash flow and a way to make the F2P players and subs cough up a few more dollars. I challenge you to show me the thread where F2P was being demanded by the players (when we were all subscribers). If you really want to know where to focus your attention, try this thread called A Thousand Papercuts. http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=5023073&postcount=1 It is conveniently located in the SUGGESTION BOX in the General Discussion Forum. .
  5. I too wonder where did BW go? I was referred to this thread after filing numerous bug reports through the ticket system, because some of these issues are just bugs that need to be fixed. My "papercuts": * STOP MESSING WITH MY CAMERA! That means don't shake it. I have enough vision problems and coupled with the problems of low FPS, it is really hard to target things. Also, I prefer to have my camera sitting slightly above and behind my head so I can see what is happening around me. Yet every time the UI screen reloads (exit area, ship, speeder, elevator, or conversation) my camera gets snapped back and I have to reposition it where I want it. Sometimes I get thrown into battle immediately following a conversation and my camera is stuck behind an object and I can't see anything. Let me lock it into position. The game knows where my boots are located, and that my weapon stays at the end of my arm, so why can't it remember where I mounted my camera? Also, fix the Smart Camera setting in Preferences. It is supposed to keep my camera facing the same direction as my character. It doesn't. In battle, if I have to turn to fight a mob that is behind me, my camera stays put and I can't see what I am shooting at. This too has been broken and reported many times over the past year. * FIX THE DRUNKARD'S VOTE CANTINA! Why can't I talk to my companion in this cantina on Coruscant? Is there a reason I need to take them over to the Dealer's Den to talk? This has been broken since I started playing in February 2012 -- over a year ago. How hard can it be to set a program flag to make companion conversation possible? The area is identified as a "Rest Zone" so why isn't companion conversation automatically enabled by this flag? * FIX THE PERFORMANCE ISSUES! I do not understand why a computer system that is in full compliance with the required system specs cannot perform adequately enough to complete all missions. In space combat, there are certain missions that I cannot complete. Syvris Evacuation is a low-level mission that shows gray on my mission log. At level 50 with Grade 5+ ship upgrades, I should be able to blow right through this mission. But I can't. The FPS is so bad and the video is so choppy that I am unable to target anything and consequently fail the mission. This issue has been reported several times to Tech Support along with detailed diagnostic logs. I have done ALL of the tips and tweaks that can be found all over the internet and the issue persists. I can play WoW with three or four addons and have no problems. The issues are here in SWTOR and it is not my system (it meets all game requirements). * FIX THE KNOWN ISSUES! The Known Issues list gets longer and longer with every expansion. Many bugs were introduced when new operations and flashpoints were introduced. More were added when Legacy was added. More were added with Free-to-Play and even more with the addition of the Cartel Market. The Patch Notes show us what issues are being addressed and they are mostly Cartel Market issues. When will we see the others getting fixed? Like Gear Preview for companions so we can see what gear looks like on our companions! * ALLOW US TO VENDOR CARTEL CRAP! I understand the concept of the Cartel packs and the need to fill them with "junk" items and sprinkle in a few rares. What makes no sense is that we cannot sell the junk to a vendor. Each character only gets one ship, therefore they can only have one C2-N2 companion. So after I receive one C2-N2 customization, I should be able to get rid of any extras without dumping them on the GTN. I don't like the Covert Armor Series and think it was a dumb idea. Why can't I sell it to a vendor? And how many Imperial/Republic Banners does one player really need? Yet they are so prevalent the GTN is full of them, dropping the price to a point where it is pointless to sell them there (not that they are such a hot item to sell anyway). Vendors will buy ALL of our junk items, including Bound items -- but not Cartel Crap? Why not? Since we can't preview what gear will look like before we try it on and it becomes bound, we get more bound items that we should be able to sell to a vendor. * ALLOW US TO USE FURNITURE! I play on Roleplay servers because I enjoy roleplay. It would be nice to be able to sit on furniture. Not just in my ship, but in cantinas as well. On my ship, why can't I sleep on my bed? Even the sleep emote has no animation. I can sit, but I can't lie down? Why can't I use the cargo locker in my cabin? Instead of worrying about adding whole new planets, why not add some detail to the existing worlds? Make furniture useable. Add some random loot drops (security chests) in remote areas for those of us who enjoy exploring those dead-end valleys, caves, or climbing up on all that shelving/debris that is lying around everywhere. Maybe hide a surprise piece of cargo in a shipwreck. * CHAT EMOTE KEYBINDS. The current emote window is useless in combat. Clicking through all of those menus to get to the /help emote is ridiculous when you can just type /help. That said, it would be extremely useful to be able to keybind those emotes for use in combat, especially warzones. Allowing macros would be even better, so we could keybind or even quickslot "Incoming East" or "Stealth Detected" or something similar. I really enjoy this game and I think it has SO much potential. But until the bugs on the Known Issues list start getting addressed, I am not going to pay for any expansion packs. I don't need to level beyond 50 to roleplay and I can always start another alt. I think it is time that BioWare started addressing the players' concerns more than focusing on new ways to extract money from us. To the OP, good job on getting this thread going. We need to start advertising this thread on other forums to get the word out. Tell your guild mates and post it on your guild forums. Talk about it on Facebook and Twitter. It is the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. Let's start squeaking! .
  6. More crap to pay cash for that we can't sell to a vendor and clogs up our inventory. Meanwhile, absolutely no progress is being made at fixing the bugs on the Known Issues list, some of which have been around for over a year. Stop polluting the game with crap and start fixing it.
  7. I agree. I really won't care about new content until they start fixing the bugs that have been on the Known Issues list for over a year now. I mean really. How freakin' hard can it be to set a program flag so you can talk to your companion in the Drunkard's Vote Cantina on Coruscant? What about some of the other bugs that were introduced with the other new content: F2P, Cartel Market, etc. Which just makes me wonder how many new bugs will be introduced with this new content and will it just get dumped on the Known Issues, or will BW actually try to fix stuff with as much effort as the Cartel Market updates seem to get?
  8. Today I received the "fixed" version of some broken gear I had. Fortunately the "Classic" version is not bound and the appearance was put back to the way it was when I used to wear it. So now that I have the new corrected version, why can't I vendor the old broken crap? I understand that it is bound, so I can't sell it on GTN. But I should be able to sell it to a vendor. Seriously, this is ridiculous putting a bunch of junk items as filler into these Cartel Packs and then the only way to get rid of them is on the GTN. The GTN is full of this worthless crap and we need a way to empty some of our inventory space. Let us sell to a vendor already. There are a bunch of people asking for this and give many good reasons why it should happen. The Cartel Packs are no longer an attractive buy because I have no more room to store the junk. It's like the PvP vendor rewards for the under-50 dailies: they never reward anything good, the stuff we get we can build better ourselves with mods. But at least we can sell it to a vendor. We are just stuck with Cartel crap.
  9. Oh goody, more stuff we didn't ask for. Any bug fixes in this patch? Since you will be introducing new content, how many more bugs will be introduced with it? How many patches will be needed to fix those, or will they just get added to the Known Issues page like all the others? As you can tell, I am still against any new content until you fix the old bugs that have been around for almost a year.
  10. Oh boy! More stuff we DIDN'T ask for. Yay! Now when are you going to fix the stuff you broke seventeen patches ago? I'm not impressed.
  11. As usual, lots of discussion about what's new to be added to the game, but nothing about what will be fixed. The KNOWN ISSUES list continues to grow with every update as the devs break more code than they fix. I do not feel that SGR should be any kind of priority in a video game that focuses more on PvP than on RP. "The game is incredibly healthy with an ever increasing number of players who are actively playing (the servers are rocking!)." This is because you eliminated a bunch of servers and crammed players into select servers resulting in HEAVY populations on the servers that remained. Adding the F2P players added even more to the populations, (and then we get those gold-sellers that we all knew would follow). HEAVY server populations result in F2P people needing to wait in queues to get in-game, but it shortened the queues for PvP zones. And now there is only one RP-PvP server left. This speaks volumes about the game's priorities. When will you guys stop with the nonsense and start FIXING the things you broke? When will I be able to speak to my companion in the Drunkard's Vote Cantina on Coruscant? Is this really that hard to fix? When will Kira Carson stop carrying her lightsaber on her chest? When will we stop seeing lightsaber leftovers floating around where a companion once stood? When will you fix the taxis so they will stop flickering in flight? The list goes on and on, and with each update there are VERY few if any fixes. I'm voting with my wallet. I won't be paying for any expansion until you start fixing things that are on the Known Issues list.
  12. I'm in total agreement. I'm not going to buy any new content until they fix a large portion of the bugs listed on the Known Issues page. Most of those bugs have been around through many, many patches without a fix. If they won't fix what they broke and just keep adding new broken content, I'll take my money elsewhere.
  13. I remember playing Daggerfall and going on a murder rampage killing innocent citizens. Eventually your reputation drops to where you are hated by everyone and city guards will attack you on sight. It was great!
  14. Add to that the extreme complexity in making the Drunkard's Vote Cantina a place where you can actually speak to your companion the way it was intended. I am sick and tired of all the new bugs that get introduced with each patch and get added to the "Known Issues" list where they go without a fix. The taxis still flicker, Kira Carson still carries her lightsaber on her chest, not to mention the floating lightsabers that get left behind after the companion leaves. War Zone kills are not credited properly, my camera still won't stay where I put it, and the list goes on and on. I think there was one item from the list fixed in Patch 1.6. That is ridiculous! I have been a paying subscriber since February 2012. I agree that subscribers should have gotten a better anniversary gift than these worthless fireworks as a thank you. But I am more upset at the apparent lack of movement in the bug-fixing department. I don't give a damn about new content. By the time I get to 50, the cap will be 55. By the time I get there and start gearing up, the cap will get moved again. I'm glad that there will be new stuff for me when I get there, but FIX THE OLD BUGS FIRST. Many posters on this forum believe that BW / EA are more focused on money than customer complaints. If that is true, then we need to get their attention by affecting their profits. I am calling for a boycott of all new content until the old bugs are fixed. I will not support any new content until the old bugs are fixed, or at least a substantial amount of them are fixed. I will not buy Cartel Coins and I will not buy any Expansion Packs until the bugs are fixed. When the game becomes too boring because I can't play any further without paying, there are a lot of other games with quality content.
  15. ^^ I agree. At the very least this patch did fix a couple of issues that I was aware of. But why did those issues move to the top of the fix list? Drunkard's Vote Cantina on Coruscant still doesn't work when you need to speak to a companion (this has been reported after every single patch since launch). Our taxis still flicker like mad ever since you broke it a couple patches ago. The scenery in game is beautiful, but because of lag, latency and other issues I can't ever set my settings above extremely low, low or off. So making pretty grass that I won't see due is at the bottom of my priority list. Why not make the game FUNCTIONAL so we can use some of the higher graphics settings. For all you haters that will point to all the various posts and articles about tweaks to make my game run faster, I have read them all and have implemented all of them that apply to my machine and OS. It works great if I don't need to see pretty grass. My machine is not the problem I am talking about. My rant here is about all of the bugs that have gone unresolved since launch, and all of the bugs that have been introduced because BW decided it is more important to bring in new content versus fixing the old. FIX IT FIRST, then give us pretty shiny new content.
  16. Yes. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Now I'm stuck on a red screen telling me the launcher is updating. I've emailed support... no response yet. I have cancelled my subscription and if things don't get better REAL fast I won't renew. I had to delete a trooper character because the previous patch bugged the storyline so bad they couldn't fix it. They sent me 20,000 credits and told me to reroll. I don't know *** is going on at BioWare but they need to pull their heads out and quick. I'm voting with my wallet. No play = no pay. /ragecancel
  17. I agree that it is a step in the right direction, but what about the "bugs" that have existed since game launch that go reported over and over? When will these issues be addressed? For example: * LOCK THE CAMERA. I shouldn't need to keep readjusting my camera every time the screen refreshes (after a conversation, space flight, elevator ride, speeder/taxi ride). This is very annoying, especially when leaving a storyline conversation which immediately erupts into battle and you can't see your enemies because the freakin' camera adjusted to someplace behind a piece of wreckage. LOCK THE CAMERA WHERE I PUT IT. The system can remember where to put my weapon, why can't it keep my camera where I put it? * STOP AUTO-TARGETING FRIENDLIES. The Auto-target Nearest Enemy doesn't work. Never has. It does not Target Nearest Enemy, but instead targets some random character including my companion or members of my Group, regardless of actual distance from me. It should ONLY TARGET ENEMIES, and the next one to be targeted should be the NEAREST to me. Additionally, there should be an option in Preferences to make the Companion unselectable. I never have a reason to target my companion unless I need to speak to them, and then I can click on their portrait without "targeting" them. * DRUNKARD'S VOTE CANTINA. If you are on Coruscant, and your companion needs to speak to you in private, you cannot speak with them at the Drunkard's Vote Cantina. This has been broke since game launch and has been reported numerous times. Instead, you must travel over to the Dealer's Den Cantina, or someplace else. The Drunkard's Vote won't work.
  18. My trooper couldn't finish The Ambush so continued to Mannet Point. Now both quests are stuck and can't finish either one. Entering the Command Center there are two Aric Jordans standing there now. Totally stuck now. Can't go anywhere else until I get a Shuttle Pass. Someone else posted that we could just play an alt. True. Unless you don't have an alt. Then you could create seven of them and play them all up to Level 7 and have 8 characters all stuck in their storylines with nowhere to go. This is ridiculous. If a Hotfix isn't doable, then roll back the servers to pre-patch and fix it later.
  19. Not only does the Target Nearest Enemy choose a random enemy, not the nearest, I will sometimes end up targeting my companion. When is my companion the Nearest Enemy? We need an option in Preferences to "Never Target Companion". The only time I would ever need to target a companion is if they want to speak to me, or if in the future I am actually able to heal my companion. Other than that, I don't need to target my companion.
  20. I agree. My only PvP experience is World PvP while PvEing. I have rolled a new character to explore this aspect of the game. But most of the advice I see posted is what to do at Level 50, or maybe 40. I'd like to see a guide similar to a crafting leveling guide that explains: Level 10 - 19 do this. Tips and secrets to success at this level are: teamwork, medpacs, stims, etc. Level 20 - 40: Same as above but play more Huttball instead of Civil War, etc. If any of that matters. As a complete PvP noob, where do I start at level 10? What do I need to know to be successful? What do I need to do to be great when I get to Level 50? ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  21. 1. I agree with the travel. I don't mind the cut-scenes when travelling between planets. But when I just want to go aboard my ship to talk to a companion, access my locker, or logout for the night, why does my ship need to leave the planet? Can't I do these things while it is parked? It is very annoying to go through the whole "take-off and fly to orbit" scene when I had no intentions of leaving the planet yet. 2. I would love it if I never had to go to Fleet! I'm not into PvP, warzones, flashpoints, or any of that. I primarily PvE and roleplay. It might be different when I get into the higher levels and start thinking about end-game. For now, I'm still focused on getting Legacy and my (level 25) speeder. 3. I'm a gatherer, so I don't care about crafting much, but that could change. 4. I would like to be able to gather more, but I understand the limitations imposed. I don't want to see people dumping 100,000 blue crystals on the market. Keep them hard to get and we get a better price. 5. The suggestion on crafting quality makes sense. I agree. 6. I would add that there are two other things that really annoy me: 1. Stop making me target my companion! I can't heal him, so there is absolutely no reason I would ever target him in combat, or just wandering around. If he doesn't want to talk to me, I will not need to click on him... ever. Make it a Preferences setting: Companion Unselectable. and 2. Stop moving my camera around! It is very annoying needing to reset my camera position on every screen reload. The position of my camera should remain locked in place just like my boots are locked in position. We have been complaining about this since I started playing (about 3 months after launch). With all the patches and updates we have had, these could have been addressed by now. I would rather stop all new content production and just fix stuff for at least the next six months. It is THAT annoying. __________________________________________________________________________________________
  22. I have been crying about this since I first started playing. With all of the patches and updates we have had so far, why is this one thing constantly ignored? The location position of our camera should be as constant and the location of our boots! Once we adjust it, it should stay put until we adjust it somewhere else.
  23. I was confused as well. During the Character Creation, when you select Twi'lek, the racial ability is listed as "a unique cultural dance". So my question is: How do we access the unique dance instead of the regular dance that humans have?
  24. I do have it set that way in preferences, so I agree that it should work that way. But does not always target an enemy.
  25. I agree, especially the use of chairs. We have the sit animation now (X key), but we can't use the furniture. Those of us into RP enjoy hanging out in Cantinas, sitting at the bar or in a booth and chatting with friends. I have tried climbing up on the chair then using sit, but the position is more of a recline you would do on the ground. It really doesn't work on furniture. There is lots of furniture in the game. Let us use it.
