  1. Yep. I nuke the hell out of them all the time with my Powertech. They last all of about three seconds.
  2. I too am an alt-o-holic, however, I have found some benefits and drawbacks to each class. I can say as a generalization that the Sith versions of the classes are better then the Jedi side. Though they are very similar in abilities it is the minor things that make the difference. For example the way a Sith Jugg holds his weapon in one hand Vs. the Jedi Defender who holds it with two as if it was a 50 pound broadsword. Plus the force charge of the Jedi Knight looks like he is doing some kind of River Dance. These are minor things. Depending on your play style certain classes can be more to your liking. The easiest class to solo is the Bounty Hunter Powertech. Specced for damage the powertech is virtually unstoppable in PvE, especially with Mako set on healing stance. Now PvP my powertech can fight three opponents at once and usually take two of them down before kicking the bucket herself. The major advantage here is starting out with a healing companion. Also having heavy armor is a big help. The powertech absorbs damage well and specced to DPS can dish it out ranged and melee. This makes the class a good all rounder. The same can be said for the Trooper Vanguard. I soloed to 50 with a mercenary but that was before I tried the Powertech. I think the powertech is much more flexible and dangerous. I am not one for the casters and honestly I prefer the assassin and shadow. The Marauder is squishy in the medium armor and does not dish out as much DPS as the assassin in the light armor. Not too mention the assassin starts with a tank pet where the Marauder starts with a DPS pet. If played right the the Marauder can do some serious damage but is difficult to solo with. My Sith Warrior is specced for tanking and I duo with my wife's character who is a Sith Sorcerer specced for healing. The combination is quite deadly and makes it easy to fill the other two spots for flashpoints with DPS. Unless specced for DPS the warrior will leave you lacking in damage but with the added DPS in the party it is my favorite class to tank with. As for healing my favorite class is the Agent Operative. They can be a ranged or melee healer and with the stealth abilities and aggro dumps they make the task of keeping the party alive so much easier. Even specced for healing they can still pump out the DPS. Just don't try to solo with an operative specced for healing unless you like to die a lot. In a group though they make excellent healers, support and DPS.
  3. That is a great idea! I agree!
  4. My favorite in story so far is the Sniper and Bounty Hunter. My favorite for soloing is my BH. For getting cash is my BH. I went mercenary with my BH and spec'ed her for DPS. She rips through mobs like they are nothing. Even group mobs and Heroics. Though honestly I can say that so far the only class I was not crazy about is the Trooper. Otherwise I have liked all the classes.
  5. It depends on if you are using the 32 bit OS or the 64 bit OS. The 64 bit will read more then 4 gb. Your best bet is to upgrade the OS to Windows 7 64 bit.
  6. Because it is just like you said... SWTOR is new and shiny!
  7. I will have to check but I do not recall ANY of the racial 'social' abilities being a health regen. I know when my Sith Warrior slaps Vette around he does not get his health back any faster.
  8. Okay I was disappointed to see that the Twi'Lek racial dance is no different then any other dance. It just has a hot key to start it as opposed to typing /dance oh and there is a short laugh that goes with it. Now mind you I was not expecting a pole dance or something... I just kind of figured it would be more like the hologram Twi'Leks we see in the cantinas or at least more unique.
  9. Honestly I would not spend the money on the Processor. You would be better off upgrading your ram to something like 8gb and get the 1gb video card. I am assuming your motherboard is set up for PCI Express?
  10. You can say that about nearly every MMO on the market. EQ2, Rift, AoC, LoTR... Ect. They all pretty much act, look and feel the samish.
  11. Perhaps, but sometimes people want to make mistakes for themselves. It could take them in a completely different direction then WoW went. As you said these are different times. This is a different game and we are all different players then we were back in '04.
  12. Well you are comparing a game that has been out a little over a week to a game that has been out for ten years. So not a very valid comparison. WoW still sucks. Just because there are or have been a million subscribers does not necessarily mean the game is good. It could mean that a million people just don't know any better. But in a ll seriousness I think we need to give Bioware some time to learn and develop the game further now that it has launched.
  13. Oh I agree there are certain things that Bioware could learn and adapt from WoW or from many other MMOs for that matter. Things such as chat bubbles for local chat and being able to see the target of my target. These common factors of MMOs seemed to have been overlooked by Bioware.
