  1. The patch is coming up sometime in July, so chill. The devs are fixing minor bugs and stuff in their weekly patching but all major changes to the game wait until the major patch, otherwise we'll have what happened in RIFT when one day of every week was unplayable because they rushed to get stuff out then promptly screwed it up and had to spend all day trying to fix it. BW is sending out major patches every couple of months. It takes time to get everything ready and all those people that are leaving just don't realize that, hey, wait it out. This game has huge potential and BW is getting it on its fit finally. With 1.3 and 1.4 we should see major changes that will fix most issues. These patches are coming out in just the right amount of time in my opinion.
  2. BioWare never said they where never doing Cross Server, though I hope they never do. Their hope is that, with the transfers and LFGs that ques will pop, once the populations settle, since the transfers are gonna screw things around for a couple weeks. After that, they even said they would monitor LFG results and, if ques aren't popping like intended, then they would reconsider Cross Server. They even came right out and said that they don't want cross server because it removes the prohibitions that players have about being "jerks" to each other since there is almost no possibility that they will ever be grouped together again.
  3. Odds are you won't be able to leave Fatman because they don't want the population to dwindle from their top population server.
  4. As far as the buff bar is concerned. We would, one, be able to move it. Secondly, we can adjust the size and how we view their duration.
  5. Sorry, I actually don't play any Imperial classes. So the agent wasn't on my mind. By speaking of the giggle, I of course, in no way, am saying that the the agent should be left out, that just wouldn't be right.
  6. bump, since people see this and instantly click out of it.
  7. Yes. BioWare is taking the smart and safe route with this. They are gauging the players reactions then start closing down servers. This will take a lot of time since there are so many people on lower pop servers to move. It may be months before they start bringing down servers.
  8. Yes, this has been posted a hundred times before and I've been trying to get it back on peoples minds with 1.3 coming up. The solution that the players all found acceptable is a toggle to turn it on and off and to not let other people hear it. simple. The giggle adds a great uniqueness and depth of character to my smuggler that I sorely miss. I also want Corso's harpoon back. For several reasons as I have stated in other threads. After all, if you want a melee tank, use Bowdaar. But that's off-topic.
  9. If this is the solution it''s just another example of BWs quick fix solutions. Just like when they took away the smuggler giggle, instead of making it a toggle. Here they just made the action look more immediate to match the Inquisitor. Why not keep the more powerful looking animation but make the damage be done instantly but give us the animation that we love.
  10. They tried to balance shadows with the heavy armor classes by reducing their armor. By making their armor less, the healing would make up the difference. However, what happened is they made the armor equal, or a little under equal, and the healing put them above the others. WE have to see exactly how this works out and have a little faith that if they royally screw up then it will be fixed.
  11. First of, an introduction. BioWare it seems that while you are creating a very unique and interesting, fun-to-play game, you're missing out on what some people are saying. My goal here is to hope you actually read this thread, which will be posted on both the General Discussion and Suggestion Box forums and it seems that your Dev Tracker Forum never has any suggestion box quotes. For all others reading this please feel free to add to the content listed below, this is not simply a suggestion checklist with reasons explained, but a cry to BioWare to not forget that what is truly important is that in the making of a great game you don't ignore the player. I'll also note that on many forum threads people seem to want immediate action without understanding that most of the changes they are clamoring for will not occur until the next update or update after that. It is hard to be patient, I know, but with a game as full of possibilities as SWTOR I feel that a little patience from the player and careful forum monitoring and feedback by the devs are needed to truly create a game that everyone will love. Getting on with the actual post now: BioWare has confirmed for us the following in 1.3, an LFG Tool, Server Transfers, and certain tanking changes. As well as a level cap increase, a new world, story, Cathar, and companions. These last features are not specifically said to be in 1.3 (or at least not anywhere I can find) but promised by the end of the year. So it is important to note, that players might want to calm down a little and realize that fighting the known 1.3 changes is futile in the short term and know that BioWare will monitor the changes and make sure they are being well received by the players. We don't know the complete method by which BioWare is giving us some of these features and we may come to actually like what we originally opposed. What everyone can expect once 1.3 is initiated are new game play experiences like population fluxes (good and bad), tanking fixes, and dps balancing. Further advances in 1.3 will be the field respeccing and Legacy upgrades, as well as Adaptive gear. The specifics of all these changes and advances are not completely known to the masses as it should be. What I would personally like to see with Adaptive gear, for example, is Gear Set Bonuses attached to the modifcations of the armor and not the armor it self so I can look the way I want and not have to sacrifice these bonuses. Has then been outright said by the devs? I can't find any mention specifically, but who knows what they have in store. Some of the details regarding tanking fixes and dps balancing has been released but not all of it, we'll just have to wait and see. The field respec issue is hopefully free and unlimited to solve the want of dual specs and multi-role FP and OP possibilities. There are a lot of threads regarding the Server Transfer versus Server Merge. BioWare is being smart. They are taking a process that is complicated and time consuming and dong it step by step. Just like what they're doing with the LFG tool by doing it single server first. They said they'd reconsider cross-server if que's didn't "pop" as frequently as wanted. Same ere with server transfers. They are doing the smart thing and consciously allowing populations to merge together in a controlled way to avoid server ques and general over-population. The concern for naming, both legacy and toon names is, of course, a major issue and one huge reason against merging servers. By offering transfers, players at least can choose if they want to change their name, or re-roll. Instead of forcing them to by merging. A sacrifice of names, to me, is a small price to pay for the freedom and enjoyment of future gaming. When RIFT offered server transfers I spent a week surveying new servers before choosing one. BioWare hasn't yet, specifically said that you can only choose from one server, you may yet have a choice, and you'll just have to wait and see. Regarding the features that probably aren't in 1.3, but will be introduced in 1.4 or beyond. The level cap, new planet, story, and companion will probably not be seen until 1.4, or maybe even 1.5. These features, as well as even Cathar, may not be seen until the end of the year. And again, BioWare hasn't released a lot of information regarding how these changes are implemented, so worrying and trying to imagine what the devs have in mind, in the long run is futile. Lets wait a little longer, get some new information, then actually voice our concerns. Now, addressing BioWare. There are a few practices which are disturbing to me as a player that I feel need to be addressed. The first thing on my mind id the obvious favoritism of Empire over Republic. I'm not getting into class specifics but over all treatment of faction. I think this becomes most apparent in terms of Tier Gear. The designs for the Empire Tier Gear are much better than Republic. It seems like you just kinda blew off the Republic and spent all your time working on the Empire. After 1.2 was released there was one major topic I saw explode all over the suggestion box forums. This is in regards to Corso's Harpoon and the upper Hand Laughter. The sum up of these arguments can be found in these threads, again, on the suggestion box forum and thus, apparently ignored by the Devs in favor of General Discussion. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=411041 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=414473 Regarding two other requests I keep seeing on the forums. One is Guild Banks. Please, can we allow the Guild Master to give permissions to members to use the guild bank and thus eliminate the need for him/her to be playing, and allow "officers" to fulfill more active roles. This of course will be at the discretion of each, individual guild. The second topic is in regards to UI customization. I am thrilled with what was done regarding this. There are only two things I wish was added, and have seen others, many others actually, clamor for the same things. These are the ability to add more action bars, and to give buffs their own customizable bar. From here I leave it to you, the Devs, and you, the players to start acting together in the pursuit of a great MMO that this game has the potential of becoming. I charge the Devs with listening and informing the players more and the players to not over react and realize that all the facts have yet to be given.

  13. Then use Bowdaar, as has been said over and over again. I never had any of the problems you're mentioning.
  14. I suggest these threads. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=414473 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=411041 There was a Huge uproar from smugglers when 1.2 came out about both of these. EDIT Smugglers voicing there support, even now. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=470898&page=2 EDIT
  15. Here is a post from the Smuggler Thread. I feel, that with 1.3 coming up it is time to revisit two issues that BW did in 1.2. 1) Give Corso back his harpoon. Bowdaar is the melee tank so give us back the harpoon that let us preserve our cc's, and be able to use back blast, dirty kick, and blaster whip, as well as our interrupts, while still being able to keep our distance as a range class should. 2) Bring back the Giggles. Some people complained about the laughing when Upper Hand was granted and BW just up and removed it. Instead, they should give us a toggle and make it so only the player can hear it, and not everyone around them. After 1.2 was released there was a huge uproar on the Suggestion Box forum regarding these changes and it's time for BW to make amends.
  16. I like the idea of character re-customization. I to take time in making my characters how I want them before officially creating them. However, there are times when I start to feel like I want to change them up a little. So here's may say: Make it so you can change things like, hair, make up, tattoos, etc... But not skin color, height, or weight. My thinking behind the restrictions isn't relatable to all and I expect resistance to this.
  17. I like the old animation better than this. It was more visually appealing. Instead of taking this quick fix of making it hit the target faster, why not actually make it work EXACTLY like the Sorcerer's ability and even out the playing field a little. I mean, is it me, or does BW seem to favor Imps and not give two ****s about Republic characters and players?
  18. Here's the things. The E3 announcement said 'coming this year". Not in 1.3. So we may not even see the level raise until fall or even the Holidays.
  19. Good idea, or we can let more than just the leader access the guild bank. Let the leaders give specific members the privilege.
  20. Thank you all for your help. After gearing Nadia and using her as a dps I have been greatly put at ease. I think the reason I was so put off when I first used her had to do with presence and gear. Playing with her is also SO much different from Qyzen. You can be lazy with Qyzen, but with Nadia you have to pay attention, with interrupts and shields, etc.. I actually like that we have to be more on guard with Nadia, I find that leveling is more fun when you actually have to pay attention to fights. I do have another question though, should I go with Crit on her or power?
  21. This could be interesting and might be one of those ground breaking moves that this game has the potential of making.
  22. I agree. It's been something I've thought needed to be done since my first toon was around 25. I would also like to see commendations tradable between legacy. Making one commendation for all would make it more like credits, and so end game items that cost comms would cost hundreds to thousands of comms, and you'd be getting 20+ comms for completing missions. The comm system is fine, but they need to be convertible, and even tradable.
  23. Probably the most amiable solution to this issue is to keep the stating amount of slots at 8. At a certain legacy level and a level 50 open up a ninth. For every 50 after that another one is opened, up to 16. This way you can play both factions, many races, and even go through the same classes story doing both dark and light side options. Because BW has given us so many customization (in therms of game experience) options it seems, that atm, we need to delete some character once all 8 are filled to experience something new. I think the above proposed system could work, but 16 would be it. Any more would just be getting a little silly.
