  1. (See TL;DR) As a guildless BM / part WH pyro merc I'm queuing solo for warzones. My class is very often focused for obvious reasons. I'm dying more easily than pre 1.2 (not going into class utility or discussing TTK). Most premade groups mainly focus on healing their guildies first (which is understandable). Maybe I'm imagining things, but something changed with the matchmaking / grouping calculations - because of the influx of new lvl 50s since 1.2, it seems solo BM / WH geared players are mostly queued with at least 3 or 4 recruit geared players (maybe to even out the team composition? I really have no idea how it is calculated, so just speculating), causing big imbalances in some wzs. I'm not flaming new lvl 50s at all, everyone started from scratch. I would however like to be part of a more equal geared setup for both sides more often than currently. TL;DR: - Attempting to survive on my own as a ranged dps is pointless unless I queue with guard / healer friends. - Is the matchmaking / grouping system working as intended?
  2. Personally I am not in a guild and only pug warzones, but thinking of joining a pvp guild because of server imbalance. On my realm imps outnumber reps by far, and normally we (imps) end up fighting each other 8 out of 10 times. That said, losing streaks happen, although i heard some folks have really had it bad (20+ losing streak). Another comment that I tend to agree with in general is that 1.2 put a bit of a dampener on pug wz'ing. Because of the TTK decrease people tend to group up more with healers / guards which left the solo puggers out in the cold a bit.
  3. Well, tbh you won't be doing much "running" after being leaped and force-choked and melee'ed because of the stupendous amount of slows / snares in this game - you'll more likely be crawling away from the melee. That's when you use your single beloved knockback (if you're a pyro merc) and pray for a heal. And to the guys who say you should "turn and run": that's pro advice to turn your back on a melee... rather strafe I'd say, while still pew-pewing him and slowing him also.
  4. Pyro merc here. For me 1.2 killed solo queuing to the point of me not caring to log in for the last week. Most classes with full BM die way too fast. There are numerous threads discussing TTK, nerfs for certain classes, buffs for other classes etc. It's a mess atm.
  5. I know pvp is not based around 1v1, but I'm still a bit curious how the rest of the community feels when facing a certain class in a 1v1 situation. (Imagine they are normal-skilled) 1. Which class do you play? 2. Which class do you generally find easy to beat? 3. Which class do you generally find hard to beat? I'll go first: I play a pyro merc. DPS sages / sorcs are normally quite easy to beat, especially when their bubble and sprint is on cd. I hate bodyguard mercs (healing). I can't seem to get them down solo most of the time.

    Centurion Gear

This. Centurion gear is useless. Get Recruit gear instead.

  8. On server A, (Hidden Beks) I win a full warzone as a Rep sage (gear = recruit). Medals: 4 WC: 88 After that I log on to Server B (Frostclaw) and I win a full warzone as an Imp Merc (gear = BM) Medals: 9 WC: 42 Why did I get more WC when I had fewer medals - are there patch software missing on servers, or could someone explain the calculation to me. I play on EU realms.
  9. I'm a BM pyro merc and I'm being eaten by maras / sents post 1.2 In a 1 v 1 against a normal skilled sent / mara I lose quite comfortably now.
  10. Agree with this poster. There are plenty of abilities which were copied from wow classes. Really disappointed. Force pull / Rescue is same as a priest's lifegrip / leap of faith, but also lowers threat.
  11. I play solo on two EU realms: Rep on Hidden Beks - Rep pugs lose 80% of the time. Worst losing streak - 13 wzs in a row. It took me two weeks to complete a weekly, so I re-rolled... Imp on Frostclaw - Imps win quite frequently here in PUGS. It takes me about 2 and a half hours to complete the dailies. I normally complete the 3 victories in 5 games. Best winning streak: 14 wins out of 17 matches (all pugs). This happened between last Wednesday and Thursday evening. But it does fluctuate quite often. The last two evenings on my imp has been quite rough - only winning 7 out of 20 games. Just hang in there, or re-roll
  12. Yep, to sum up: it's worth squat doing pvp for relatively fresh 50s at the moment, unless getting stomped on in warzones is your way of having 'fun'. [irony] But please keep paying your monthly sub while you sit and do nothing. Thanks for your support! [/irony]
