  1. I haven't seen anyone posting this stuff yet, so I figured I would start. On my fresh level 50 SS specc'd GS I am averaging around 700 to 800. All orange gear (some crafted, some rewards, etc) with the exception of my BM saber and Champion relics. This seems REALLY low to me. Anyone else have a fresh level 50 GS to compare to? I have studied and tried different rotations, etc. This is about where I max out. Will post stats when I get home and can log into the game. So, new level 50, SS, no endgame gear- 700 to 800 dps. *EDIT* As for my rotation, I usually try to keep up Flourish Shot and the Armor debuff, then Charged Burst (with the buff when it is up), Trick Shot (Every time it is up) Speed shot, Sab charge, Aimed Shot, Flurry of Bolts (to conserve energy), then start repeating. I will also use the triple speed shot with an Aimed Shot and trick shot in the middle of the 3 speed shots. I have also tried mixing in Flyby, leaving off the debuffs, etc. I usually try to save Cool Head for when I am going to miss a Trick Shot or Proc'd Aim Shot and I know it would put me under 60%.
  2. Agreed. People need to quit ************ about gear. It's a non-issue. I hit 50 right before the patch, bought the recruit set and had enough comms for my BM weapon and relics in a day or two with what I had saved up before the patch hit. I come in the top three EVERY match win or lose. Against a lot of players who are in full BM gear. It was easy to blame gear before because of the gap (honestly, I didn't see it as THAT big of an issue on my other 50, pre-patch). Now people need to learn to play their toon and learn how to work as a team. Perfect example, I am an idiot savant on my Shadow and top the charts. Repsecc'd to Dirty Fighting on my Gunslinger and went from consistent top 5 to mid to lower group for a few days while learning the different play style. Now I am back in the top 5 consistently.
  3. More than anything, fix the server pop issues. Dual spec. A little more improvement on the interface. Specifically, movable resizable buff and debuff bars that aren't attached to the player frames and the ability to add more bars if needed. Ranked pvp, if not before then and cross-server pvp.
  4. I think the OP's point is that he spent 3000 wz comms to get 1000 merc comms and would like to trade them back at the same ratio. Hey, I would like to have done that as well. As i hit level 50 the night before the patch and had capped both merc and wz comms. But, I thought that being able to buy BM gear straight out for comms, was a good enough trade off that I am just going to suck it up and move forward. Nothing else you can do anyway. Yeah, it would really have been nice to have 4000 comms to buy BM gear with (if they had allowed me to trade them back for what I paid for them). So OP, just look at it as a trade off. Yeah, you lost some WZ comms, but you gained the ability to buy BM gear straight out. You got some cake, don't complain about not getting to eat it too. It's not worth losing sleep over. Trust me, we come out way ahead by being able to buy the BM gear without fooling with the bag system.
  5. How many people honestly think gear is the deciding factor in pvp? I just don't see it. I hit 50 the night before the patch. The next day I promptly bought the Recruit set, 2 relics and my BM weapon and off I went to level 50 pvp. I expected to get rolled by all the people with full BM gear. Didn't happen. I consistently came in the top 3 or 4 with several first place finishes in about 8 matches. Just like I did in the sub-50 pvp matches. I run a Infiltration specced Jedi Shadow. I also have a level 50 GS that I respecced to Dirty Fighting just to try it out. I jumped in with him in Centurion gear to learn my new spec, which was totally different than the SS spec I was running pre 1.2 and didn't do so hot due to learning my new spec and having to adjust to a totally different play style. That was expected. I hadn't l2p'd yet and I came in about the middle of the pack about 4 matches in a row with a top 5 finish on my last match. Tonight I will buy the Recruit set for my GS and make another run. I expect to do about the same as I did last night, which will be not as good as my Shadow (which I know inside out). The point is, if gear is everything. I should be able to get the same gear on my GS that I have on my Shadow and finish top 5 every time, just like I did pre 1.2. That's not going to happen because I have a steep learning curve since I respecced and learning my toon gives me WAY more advantage than my gear. Just my 2 cents worth. Peace.
  6. I hit 50 the night before the patch hit. After the patch, I bought my BM weapon and relics and purchased the blue "recruit" set and was off to my first level 50 wz's. I did notice that some matches I was getting 50 comms and some matches I got around 100. Now, a lot of the 50's I was competing against were full BM, but I was still able to stay competitive. I never finished lower that 5th and even grabbed a couple of first place finishes in about 6 to 8 matches. I was a little disappointed to not consistently get close to 100 comms every match, but I will just have to see how it plays out. It doesn't bug me too much being the first day of pvp under 1.2 and because I know gear isn't everything. Like I said, I bought the recruit set, which anyone else can do as well. That being said, I can understand your pain. You feel like you are getting cheated out of comms. I understand why you feel like that, as I was expecting way more comms than I got when I did well but my team lost. I want my gear too, just like you, but I love pvp and I am going to keep doing it. The gear will come when it comes and I will be even better. But again, gear isn't everything.
  7. "Against two geared dps going down on one person, person is just dead. Nothing you can do about it." Not understanding what is wrong with that.... I know it is not always the case. 2v1, you can't win them all. If I kill one of them, I did my job. If I kill one and get away, even better. If I die, well it WAS 2v1. If there is a class that can consistently win when they are outnumbered 2 to 1, what is it so I can roll one? Now, do you die as well after the tank? I'm just trying to wrap my head around this because that's the point of focus-firing in pvp. You focus-fire so the damage is unhealable, then move to someone else when that person dies. As they should. As for the rest of your post, I can see your logic in it.
  8. Glad I'm not on your server......But hey, if you can motivate idiots to try your strat, you will at least have a bunch of motivated idiots. Preferred (not prefered, there is a spell check tool on this forum) doesn't mean better. It just means someone would rather do what you suggest rather than have to think for themselves....
  9. I also hate when you get in a pug and someone takes charge telling everyone the WRONG thing to do. The worst on my server is "Half of you go left and half go right".... Really??? Yeah, let's do that so we have twice as far to run when a node needs help....don't know if any of you have that issue on your server. But there is consistently someone who suggests that on mine.
  10. I don't remember who said it on this thread, but there are no true "tanks" in pvp. I assume you are meaning what would be a typical tank class and spec. I see tank classes doing double my damage all the time. I see dps classes doing more damage than me as well. They typically rank below me when the WZ ends. I run a Jedi Shadow with a dps spec, in dps gear and roll wz's in tank stance and I consistently come in the top 3 at the end of the day. PVP is not all about damage or kills. It's about winning. If that means I don't get as many kills or I don't get my assassin medal because I throw a shield on the guy running the ball in Huttball and follow him instead of chasing someone half across the map to finish a kill, I did my job. Protect the ball carrier, harass the healers and ranged when needed, don't leave your node unguarded to go chasing someone down. Those things are not as spectacular as chasing people everywhere in my Shadow Technique and owning face with massive crits, but they win the WZ. Don't worry so much about damage. Just focus on what your class brings to the table to help your group win and have fun knowing that you are doing the best thing your class to do to help win. The rest will fall in place.
  11. I want to know the same. I have 1000 saved up. If I can't use them for Battlemaster I think I will buy the mount. You can buy a Battlemaster comm with 1000 warzone and 1000 merc comms. Not a very good trade off when they are coming out with new pvp armor too.
  12. "Unlike the scoundrel/operative they have no heals, vanish or run speed escape basically no way to escape multiple targets focus fire and with weak armor and almost NO defensive skills one stun is the end of them." Yes, we do. We have dodge and defensive screen, also my gs is so talented at kicking you in the nards that he gets a run speed increase afterwards..... 0.o But seriously, ANY class that gets focus-fired is toast. It's just a question of how quickly the toast gets burned... "I'm not saying that the class is seriously underpowered by any means but they pale in comparsion to most other classes." I don't think we are underpowered, just harder to play. You have quite a few tools in your tool box, but you have to know when to use them and use them ALL.... Seriously, I like to play my GS, because it holds my constant attention when I pvp. If I use all my tools I usually top the charts. I come out on top in 1 vs. 1 a little better than 50% of the time, or I run away....lol. I very rarely can kill a good healer. That is how it should be, imo. If I don't use the tools I was given, I am usually toast. I don't want a class I can bind half my attacks to one side of the keyboard and half to the other side then roll my face back and forth across the keyboard and come out on top in a fight.
  13. I think the changes are a definite improvement, however....allowing a customizable UI is the only thing that is going to stop all the complaints. At that point, anyone who doesn't like their UI has no one to blame but themselves. The existing UI is playable for leveling so far. That being said I haven't reached any end-game content and having come from a world-ranked raiding guild in WoW, I know I am going to hate the UI when I have to use it for that. Simple things like being able to move and re-size the frames, chat box, etc are going to be a huge improvement. I know you guys have plans for doing so, so no complaints here yet.
