  1. Man I really hope that we get transfers to Jedi Covenant, since my highest level is on the SUPER dead server of Infinity Gate, in which there were literally 2 people on the fleet-me and some other guy. Even at peak there its literally like 10 people on the fleet...PvP matches are virtually non existent. Really holding out, but my hopes are very slim...and if I have to PAY to transfer my characters, when I already paid $60 for the game, and a total of $60 for 4 months of play+1 month free with the games purchase, then that would be a VERY stupid idea.....and so my hopes would go down, but i have little hope still.
  2. Yea I understood that the trooper story does get better, but I've also heard the ending sucks, but don't know why, so I can't agree really. Companion affection wise, the only real concern is Dorne for romancing, but gifts fix everything. I appreciate the info none the less though, but how does the story go if your Darksided? Is it more interesting? I'm really looking from a story standpoint, but class will be Trooper no matter what.
  3. Let me start by saying I had a Vanguard before on my current server, but because of the....bland....story I, possibly in a fit of rage, deleted him. Now, I'm starting to think that was a mistake. He was only like 28 or so, so thats not a problem to recover as that should take me about 2 or 3 days spacebarring through stuff I've seen/done already. I found the LS story for the trooper bland, in the sense that....well it was just bland! After going through the start of the JKs story up until Nar Shaada's end as DS, I found some interesting twists and turns as a DS Jedi. I was wondering, that if I were to say re-roll my trooper (Vanguard, I'm not a fan of the Assault cannons) and this time be pure, or at leas 90%, DS would the story actually be interesting enough for me to go through it all the way? I understand that a DS trooper is like a "Renegade" who just does whatever advances/helps the republic, while the LS trooper is a by to book guy who wants to keep peace and save lives and such. Would it be a good idea to go DS just to at least keep the story interesting? Because I play the classes for the story, at least until 50 when the story concludes. TL;DR Should I re-roll my trooper DS instead of LS? Would it make the bland story a bit more interesting? I didn't hate the LS story, but it seemed bland and.....meh. Is DS good option for trooper?
  4. Well I recall when I was at that point, my sith was....Dark III really close to Dark IV and I remember seeing a LS option, but I don't recall what it said....but I didn't wanna find out what happened since I was DS....but the option appeared for me, so maybe it'll appear for you?
  5. I just love whenever he rages at something he can't do.....such as that moment on Dromund Kaas.....ahh good times.
  6. The Trooper story, I found just a bit bland, but it did have its high points. The JK story so far has been fairly good, but it does have that one repetitive theme: Go to planet X, Destroy weapon Y, Kill bad guy/overlord of weapon, repeat on next planet (more or less). The gameplay takes some getting used to, and you really have to pay attention since Sents are always on the move, which I found a welcome change from my Vanguard. Story wise, I'd have to say Sent, or you can always go Guardian which is a mirror to the Jugg you said you had, so that'd be familiar ground IF you want the same style of gameplay.
  7. Well there are differences between Troopers and IAs. Troopers use Heavy Armor and rely on Aim as the primary stat versus the IA that relies on Medium Armor and Cunning. Vanguards are like melee troopers with a decent ranged capability, and make awesome Tanks. The Commando makes a good Healer. They can both be DPS as well. If that's your thing, mostly support with heavy hitters, than go Trooper! Operatives are stealthy healers mostly, but have some decently good DPS. A lot of people do DPS from 1-50, than at 50 switch to heal, but you can always stay as a healer since they're really good (depending on your own skill of course). They are also EXTREMELY annoying if you know how to keep a stun-lock on a target. Snipers have some of the best DPS in the game, and use cover which cancels out any Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior trying to leap to you, which can be helpful. They can bring down others easily, but can be brought down pretty easily as well. Plus, the IA's story is one of the best (if not the best!) story in the game. Also, as for the "Light" and "Dark" thing you can go either way on either class. You can have a Dark Trooper or a Light IA, or vise versa. This just adds some interesting twists to the story, but thats ultimately up to you how you wanna go about that. I have only personally played a Vanguard (Tank spec) and he was awesome in PVP and PVE. Hopefully that should help you make a decision!
  8. My thoughts: Male JK: 8/10. I can see why people say he uses a monotone for LS, but it actually helps get across the whole "Impartial Jedi trying to save the galaxy" feel, like a hero. Male SW: 9/10. I love this guy, he's so sadistic and evil. Although sometimes when I was killing people he felt to bland or out of place about it. Although there were particular lines, such as when you make fun of Baras, that really sell the humor bit about him. Male Smuggler: 7/10. I really liked his sense of humor, but it felt bland and poorly done at times...IMO I think Nolan North (Male Counselor) should have done the Smuggler and turned on the Nathan Drake/Desmond Miles style of humor, and that would have made it a 10. Male Trooper: 10/10. Superb, especially his helmet voice. Really made me feel like a soldier tangled up with a battle much greater than himself, really sold me on this one. Male IA: 8/10. I could here the BA James Bond guy, but sometimes the "I don't wanna be here I'm so bored" guy took over, but overall pretty good. Male JC: 2/10. Really, really terrible as Baron Deathmark would say!. I heard it was Nolan North, and I got all excited because I loved him as Nathan Drake and Desmond Miles, and was really expecting a lot. Ended up being horribly disappointed.....as I said before he really should have done the Smuggler's voice or even the IA's voice.
  9. Well I've begun working on my DS knight and I gotta say to story (at least to me) actually makes some sense but I'm only just leaving Tython thanks everyone for the help! Also, there are no longer restrictions on color crystals right? I don't wanna get to level 50 to get my Blue-Black or Cyan crystal and find out I can't even use it due my DS points....also anyone know what level Artifice is required to make a Cyan crystal? If someone in Jedi Covenant could make one for me that'd be awesome lol.
  10. Well thats a relief to hear....but i can understand the death by lightsaber thing since jedi don't technically have choke/lightning/etc. Did the story make sense to you a lot? I know for whatever reason its easier to earn DS than it is LS doing missions...but ill see what happens
  11. I might wanna try it out for a bit and just do essless/diplomacy to fix it later but most likely to go LS if DS doesnt make sense.....but at the end i know what happens basically and that you get the "Master" title as LS, but as DS apparently you don't? I'm going for the Master title as my ending title, but won't do much good if I can't even attain it. Is this true or do you get it anyways?
  12. Well upon creating my new Sentinel to be JK, I was thinking of story choices. Usually I always do LS for Republic and DS for Empire. However, how does a DS JK play out? I know LS is basically just save someone, destroy something to save millions, let someone live, etc. and is basically KOTOR3. But DS seems interesting, but sometimes its just a repetitive motion-kill, kill, kill, steal, kill, lie, kill, steal, kill. Still seems interesting, but how does it play story wise? Does it impact the story greatly or just a bit? I know companion affection gain would be difficult, especially for T7 but i'm sure there are other ways to max out affection so that's not to important. Any input in this matter would be great, since it seems DS is way easier to gain than LS.... TL;DR LS or DS for JK story? Can't decide! Want to try DS but don't know how story would play out and how some choices would go as well as difficulty in companion affection gaining! Help! Thanks! Thanks!
  13. Yea I think I got the combat specs down for it more or less, and companion wise is there a better one between T7 and kira? I kno that the end fight for JKs u have to use T7 but i just wanna use whichever can help me more and help me run through planets faster.
  14. Well I decided to make a Sentinel after much debating between Sent and Guard. This was mainly because I heard at 1.3 we'd be getting Character transfers so I could just transfer my Juggernaut (Guardian equivalent) over. I know that Sents are easy to learn/hard to master type class, and the DPS output is amazing as for I've seen. However, I know they are fairly squishy as well...I come from my Vanguard so I'm not really used to frequent deaths but I know that a good Sent could prevent that. Sorry if I sound a bit to nooby, but I could really use help as I'm kinda overwhelmed with sents. I already know my build for quite some time (going up the Watchman tree until its maxed out then I'll see what happens) but I'm confused on the whole centering thing. I know that centering builds when you used moves that spend/generate focus but beyond that I've got no clue. Any real general info on this would be a great help, and also would it be wiser to use T7 or Kira until I get Doc? I plan on romancing Kira if it makes a difference, but I'd prefer living/faster killing to romance until I get the hang of it all. Any and all help would be great on this! Thanks!
  15. I'm assuming its like a level 50 thing right? And any help on sent stuff/info would be great
  16. Is the schematic for cyan crystal gotten from like GTN/other crew skills like UWT or Slicing or can it be learned from the vendor at some level?
  17. Well once I get around to unlocking Legacy on my Trooper I was thinking of starting up a JK. However, I'm not quite sure of which class and on story options. [For the short version, skip the next 2 paragraphs] Class wise, I've played both a Guardian and Sentinel till just around the start of Taris. I found the Sent's damage output crazy good, but survivability was not to good. Guardian wise, Tanking was awesome but I killed way slow. I also know that Sents require a lot more focus and more "skilled gameplay" to be good. This, I'm not to good at. I can understand basic rotations, but am kinda stumped on building up those stacks of stuff like Zen or Transcendence. It really looks interesting, but how good is it in PvP and in PvE? Usually I have a trend to PvP until my Valor rank matches my level (so at level 10, I'd PvP until I had 10 valor, and so on). Also some of the Guardian armors look cooler, like the level 40 Guardian PvP set... I wanted to try out something new, and I've seen Sents doing some nice numbers and such, but they're pretty high leveled (in the 40s usually). Are they good in PvP/PvE at lower levels? Any guides on how to be "good" as a Sent for beginners would be great! Also, the next concern is the Story. As far as I've seen, the LS story for JKs is essentially KOTOR 3. Which is good and all, but sometimes I feel like, "Ugh, gotta save that guy, and run around keeping those guys alive while being the good guy!" How would it be if I were to make a Dark Knight (no pun intended)? Is it more interesting? It seems that way, but I don't know how the story plays out then, and if someone (with as little spoilers as possible) can tell me how it works out, that'd be good. TL;DR Version Guardian or Sent? Kinda wanna try Sent but not sure on difficulty of gameplay, PvP/PvE viability etc. Story wise: DS or LS? How does DS play out and is it "funner" than LS? LS gets boring sometimes but idk what a Dark (Jedi) Knight would be like. And on a side note, where can I get a Cyan crystal for weapons? I really want a Cyan saber, but can never find the crystal! Thanks!
  18. Alright i'll try that out thats probably the issue i try to weave in some hammer shots but usually takes a backseat to my other abilities...thanks guys i'll try that out!
  19. Well recently on my 23 Shield Specc'd Vanguard I've found myself running low on Ammo. This usually happens especially in Warzones, Heroics, or FPs. I can usually prevent it in regular PvE, but sometimes it happens there if there's to many enemies. What can I do to fix this? Still pretty new to this Vanguard, so any help would be great! Thanks!
  20. Ah, I see! Should have known when it said "Defense" next to it lol. Would my current plan of going up the middle tree until Gut then up the Tank tree till Storm be good or would it just be easier to go all into tank tree? I'm just about to hit Taris so I'll be getting my healer soon, and just want the fastest leveling possible lol. Also, I've made a build that is my current plan for my build to use. Let me know what you guys think! http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801RRGrzorRkMZMsMro.1
  21. Sorry if I sound noobish but which tree is the tank spec? I assume middle but not sure. And any builds using said tank spec would be awesome. Oh and currently my plan was to go up the middle tree until i got gut then go up the left tree and get storm. dunno how viable this is though.
  22. Well I'm going to be making a Vanguard soon. I'm used to playing Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior classes mostly, but have also played a Gunslinger and wanted to try out Vanguard since I'm currently playing on the Republic side. What is the most recommended build currently for Vanguards? I believe its Assault or something but not to sure. Any help here would be awesome. Also, story wise, I've always stuck with my factions ways. If I was playing on the Empire side, I always chose DS options, and on the Republic side I always chose LS options. Would this be the best way just to go pure LS? I like being the bad guy only when I really am the bad guy, and in games like Mass Effect I'm always the good guy. It does get a bit boring, but the DS just seems like mindless killing (which is good for the Empire classes) so would it be good just to stick to it and make exclusively LS choices? Thanks!
  23. Ever since Taris (starting at 32) I've been using Quinn, and even a bit before that. Even now, 2 planets later on Hoth, still using him. Jaesa is also great, but only if you can survive without heals on your own.
  24. Well I haven't actually played in game today to have tested this, but how does this build look? The table I found (from somewhere in the forum from some guy who linked it, so I take NO credit for finding this!) seems to be updated, at least for Juggs since torhead doesn't have the updated table yet, so it should be correct. If any corrections needed, let me know! Here it is: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/juggernaut#21j11ek-d1j2882f-0 How does it look? Any tweaks? Anyone who has played have anything to say about a similar build they may have? Thanks!
