  1. I am currently in a dilemma. I have characters on two servers: Prophecy of Five (PoF) and Jedi Covenant (JC). On JC I have my 50 Sage, 22 Guardian and 20 PT, and on PoF I have my 39 Juggernaut and 30 Gunslinger. I was wondering one thing: what does PoF look like population wise? I'm talking PvP Queue times, Group finder queue times, and ease getting into FPs/Heroics/Ops, and the like. I have done some testing PvP wise on both sides (as I have a Jugg and a Slinger) and the Juggs PvP matches seem to be mostly Imp vs Imp while Slinger gets mostly Pub vs Imp....I'm assuming there is an Imp majority? I'm still deciding on whether I want to make this my main server or not and am basing it off these facts at this point. I also need to know any major differences between it and JC population wise. Thanks!
  2. Warning: Long post ahead. Skip to bottom for TL;DR Version! First of all, let me explain. On two separate servers (Jedi Covenant and Prophecy of Five) I have characters. On JC I have my 50 Sage, 20 PT, and 20 Guardian, as well as some cool Cartel Market items but not very much in cash (but I can make more easily via 50 dailies and such) but I also have a level 9 legacy (which was a pain in the butt to get to!) On PoF, I have a 32 Gunslinger and 38 Jugg, a decent amount of cash, but nothing from the Cartel Market, but my Legacy is only level 4 there. I know there is still no server-to-server trade nor free will server transfers (as in, I can't just move some of my guys to another server on my own). My dilemma is this: which server should I stick to? I started on JC because a friend used to play with me, but he quit SWTOR and doesn't seem to have plans to return in the near future. I noticed that PvP in JC is more balanced (by that I mean I can find Pub vs Imp matches 99% of the time) versus PvP on PoF where it seems to mostly be Imp vs Imp (haven't tested Pub side thoroughly, but seems to be Pub vs Imp somewhat more). I like fighting the enemy faction more, but it is not a deal breaker. My main concern with the server is this: is there adequate population and is it more or less like JC's population? I haven't seen what planets look like (pop wise) in PoF, but I can find out with ease, but is the server (on both sides) more or less as populated as JC? Aside from the key areas in fleet (PvP dailies, GTN) it seems a bit empty, but it may be just me. My question is do I leave behind my one 50 and two 20s and trade for two 30+s (which I can get to 50/get adequate funding and such to without much hassle) and leave what ever I have there (mostly material) behind or just stick to JC? If server trasfers that allow us to transfer anywhere/more servers than the last one, I will be transfering all of them to one server, but for right now what do I do? Let me say I do quite enjoy ALL of my characters (hence the reason I have both a Guardian and Juggernaut). TL;DR Version Stuck between choosing a server: Jedi Covenant or Prophecy of Five. JC has 1 50 (Sage) and 2 20s (Guardian and PT) with cartel market stuff and level 9 legacy. PoF has lvl 32 (Gunslinger) and 38 (Juggernaut), nothing from cartel market, and level 4 legacy. Need to how much of a difference exists between PoF and JC in terms of population, PvP/Group Finder/etc. Queue times and the like. Thanks!
  3. For right now, this spec is mostly going to be used for getting myself to 50, meaning doing planetary quests, a good amount of pre-50s PvP, and some FPs/Heroics to boot. This is not meant to be a post 50s build, for which I'll probably be primarily tanking for Ops/Raids/PvP/Dailies.
  4. If you've got Cartel coins, the Valiant Jedi Armor set (1440 cartel coins) looks pretty much the exact same, if not may actually be the same thing. Looks quite nice (which is why I have it on Guardian), and since I recently re-subbed I got about 1450 coins for free, so I got the armor for free essentially. If not you're pretty much SOL for that one armor set. Hope it helped!
  5. Been playing around with a few builds, narrowed one down, would like some feedback. I want to be able to Tank, but at the same time do a decent amount of damage. That way I can protect someone, while also being able to contribute fairly well. Had some trouble deciding between Burning Purpose and Force Rush.... If anyone has any other suggestions, etc, it would be appreciated! Also, if this build has been done before, I take no credit of making it up myself. 25/16 Build http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/guardian#17dk28-2d1ie228f-0 Thanks!
  6. Thinking about starting a guardian not 100% sure though. I need some help with finding a build if i do make one. I've heard that def/vig specs are good for leveling, decent dps and off-tanking as well. I want to put out decent dps while still being able to partially tank so i can survive, but also hold my own in pve/pvp. I've heard 18/23 is the way to go but if someone could show me the specs of it or point me in the right direction that would help. Thanks for any help!
  7. Hey all, its been a few months since I last played (maybe around start of August), and I recently just started again. I got a 2 month sub for now, lets see where that goes. I still (obviously) have my characters, and don't want to delete any of them, but I was thinking of starting a new character on my current server (Jedi Covenant) since I have my legacy there as well as my highest characters as well as a good sum of cash. I've probably lost my guild on my Sage, but it is of no concern as long as I can find another one (any openings in guilds would be appreciated if you know of any). That aside, I wanted to start a new character as I said. I do have a 50 Sage, and 20 PT which I will probably play, but I also have a 25 Sent that has not been touched in some time. I found the fast maneuverability the Sent demanded was a little much for me, and playing it again, I just can't seem to keep pace with it any more. Just because I have yet to see 75% of the JK story for myself, I was considering playing a JK Guardian, but since my Sent is as high as he is, would it just be easier to deal with it and learn how to play him properly? I used to be decent, but not great. I had a Jugg on another server, and it was fun. I'm not a guy who can get a class to 50 in a week or two, it takes me a few months at least (I had just gotten my Sage to 50 prior to quitting). So, should I keep playing the Sent, try a Guardian/Jugg again, or something else entirely? Any help would be great! Sorry for the long post....not my thing but it just kinda happened. Thanks! TL;DR Should I keep playing Sent, switch to Guardian/Jugg, or something else? Also, a guild in Jedi Covenant would help me get back up and get back into the game, so if anyone knows one let me know.
  8. My first actual character was a male DS body type 3 Juggernaut. He got to about level....12? Ended up deleting him, but now going to finally restart him once more on my current server.
  9. Not sure how much you've heard about the Consular, specifically the Sage, but here's my 2 cents on it. Let me preface this by saying that since you've played the IA story line, which is one of the best in the game (if not the best but that's not the point) you might find the Consular story boring since the IA is more action orientated while Consular is more a diplomat/non-violence deal. Now then, on my opinion. I liked it. Style was rewarding as a DPS Sage, and in the 1-49 tier of PvP I did VERY well. Easily within top 5, sometimes even top or second, with 8-14 medals each game. PvE wise, content wasn't to hard for me save for certain bosses and heroics, but overall fun. Story wise, its a perspective/opinion thing. Some people I've heard just all out hated the Consular story, and voted it the worst one. I for one, even after playing the Sith Warrior story up till around the start of Act 3, still found it interesting. Its really diplomatic based, as thats what you are for Act 2 and 3-a diplomat to secure the peace. Act 1 is a good bit different, and was probably my personal favorite. Act 2 and 3 were however enjoyable, somewhat humorous, and interesting. Thats what I think at least, a lot of others would have to argue against that. Of course Gameplay wise, most people would agree as a Sage its a nice style of play, plus you can respec as a healer for Ops/FPs/WZs etc. and be able to get into groups/Ranked WZs faster. Oh and for the story, go LS. DS makes no sense what so ever (Ex. "I helped you out, and you helped me out. We both benefit as does the Republic as a whole! Now what? I KILL YOU! YOU DIE!!"=DS Consular=Wut. While LS is just that without the stupid decision to kill the person, which makes much more sense...) Just my 2 cents, hope that helped!
  10. Well as a Miraluka body type 2 consular, the voice of nolan north fits rather well for me.
  11. So basically, I could probably do fairly well on an Arsenal Merc/Pyro Merc/Whatever in the 1-49, but in the 50s, i'd be dominated? Does PT Tank work the same way, or what? Still in the middle.
  12. As for Act 1, I can tell you this much-your Act 1 Boss will be obvious by around, maybe Nar Shaada or Tatooine, but you have no real reason to despise him....other than making you go heal some random master on every planet. I found it somewhat interesting, although it was obvious for me around Nar Shaada. Act 2, is more diplomacy based, which may be boring if you don't like that stuff. I found it alright, but still kinda meh. Act 3 so far has been almost a repeat of Act 2, but adding in an aspect gathering troops for an army. Also, the villain of Act 3 is (at least so far on Voss) unknown. You know his "Callsign" if you will, but not who he is. I have found it to be enjoyable, since I like to fight mysterious enemies. Of course, since you say you've done the Knight/SW stories, this will probably be less enjoyable, since compared to those its weak. I started with the Consular, so I have a different opinion.
  13. So does anyone have any opinions on how good a Tank Hybrid build might go? Like maybe Tank/AP? or maybe even a pure Tank? Tank/AP something like this: http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/bounty_hunter/powertech/#::e2fe3fe2f2efe4f3e5f5ef3e2fef20: Tank Pure something like this: http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/bounty_hunter/powertech/#::e2fe3fe5fe5fefe3f11ef5ef16: Any thoughts would be appreciated! Also, on a side note, I went back to my old server, and found my old level 11 Merc. I started him up, went into a Huttball match, and came out number 2 in damage, second only to a 43 Slinger and even beat the 2 sents and the mara....this was an isolated incident, but can this event speak for anything that might happen as a Merc for me in the future, or was it just one of those rare events?
  14. Well I only got to the end of Act 1, and it was repetitive, but when you get to kill Skavak, it made it all worth it. Never got to Act 2, but I feel like the "Epicness" of the story was gone, since Act 1 made me feel like a Smuggler should-Going for the Riches and the Girls! Act 2 just seemed to be missions, which seem kinda boring. I'm contemplating replaying it, simply because I am currently in Republic mode...Os Act 2 and 3 any better? Because what I've heard here doesn't suggest it.
  15. Well my BH is now level 10, but I'm having trouble deciding between PT or Merc. I wanted to tank, but I've heard the tank tree for PTs (Ironfist build IIRC) was recently nerfed and is no longer viable. But I heard Mercs are not in good condition in PvP. I want to Tank, but if its not viable then.... Still leaning for PT Tank Hybrid (Shield Tech/AP or Shield/Pyro) if that will work, but DPS Merc looks interesting....on PT i'd go Tank hybrid, on Merc prob pure DPS (Arsenal IIRC). Need some help here! I do PvP and PvE about 50/50 equally, so I wanna be able to do at least decent in both. Help is very appreciated! Thanks!
  16. I would love to see some more use to the old glowstick, but as I understand it the Sage is a master of the force, and as such uses the force as his weapon, the lightsaber more as a shield. Although, if we had at least a Saber Throw and maybe Force Push (seeing as how we would like to keep our enemies at a distance) it'd be pretty sweet.
  17. I've heard the SW story is one of the best in the game, but I was wondering, which story is more interesting? As I understand it, the Darkside warrior is a pure Sith- Get what you need to know, then get rid of them. The Lightside warrior seems much more complex-He wants do what is right, only kills when absolutely necessary, all while hiding his true self from his masters/The Emperor. Both have their strengths, but which one really keeps you hooked on all the way through? Wanted to try LS but don't really know how well it'll really work out in the end for me. Also, and this is a side note, which AC makes more "sense" during the story-Jugg or Mara? I'm leaning towards making a Mara, but it could go either way. Not looking at PvP or end game ops right now (although I will be eventually, so I want something that will make those easy while making the story enjoyable). Thanks!
  18. I do a good amount of PvP but its probably a 50/50 split between the two. Are Commando's bad in PvP? Because I've seen some boss commandos owning at pvp (granted they were like 30+ but still)
  19. Well I was thinking of making a Trooper. I come from a Sage, which is why commando sprung to mind-stays in place with 2 or 3 decent self heals (when specced into the DPS tree). I have had a Vanguard, and raised one up to about 28, and enjoyed it, but I feel Commando is more my thing. I feel like Commando and Sage are the same in style (since as a Balance Sage, I stay in place, and heal when needed with 2 heals, and feel like Commando would be the same, so ease of play). With that in mind, would it be better for me to go Vanguard or Trooper? I would go Tank specced on Vanguard and DPS spec with Commando.
  20. Seriously doubt this will happen soon, but there's one ability I'd love to see. A Saber Throw for Sages/Sorcs. Make that Saber actually worth something more than a glowing stick. Maybe that Balanced Saber thing someone mentioned before?
  21. I'm probably going to go with that build mentioned above, so thanks for that, guess sever force is worth it! Also, does anyone have an answer to my question about PvP Level 40 Armor set on which one to get?
  22. Not saying they suck at healing, saying that I suck at healing people. I know Ops make some good healers, but I just suck at it personally. so based on that, and the fact that other than Guild Ops, I'd be mostly PUGing it with exception of I get into a guild that doesn't mind a DPS Op, that can Off Heal, would Op still be good? It looks interesting, but I don't wanna re roll a Sniper because I end up not liking it, but still wanna try Op....would it still be a good idea based on that info?
  23. I made an IA and got him to level 10, but I cannot decide between Operative and Sniper.... I want to go DPS, and I know Snipers have great DPS while Op DPS is "lackluster" and unwanted at end game. I'm pretty bad at healing (On my sage, the only healing medal I can get is the 2.5k Single Heal, but he's DPS specced anyways). I can heal myself just fine, other people are my problem....Even at end game, I'd suck at it. I know Ops DPS is unwanted, especially on end game Ops and Ranked PVP but the only thing about Snipers I don't like is being rooted to one spot all the time, even my Sage can be a bit more mobile! I know Lethality specc is less cover reliant, but thats only good at end game, and the better "level up" specc is MM which is cover dependent. So, should I go Concealment Op or MM Sniper? I come from a Balance Sage if its any help, and just want to do well in PvP while being able to go through the story relatively quick. TL;DR Can't decide between Op Concealment and Sniper MM, dislike being rooted down as a Sniper but heard Op DPS is not viable and unwanted end game, and suck at group healing. Thanks!
  24. Well as I fast approach the top of the Balance tree at 36, I am only 2 tiers away from the top skill-Sever Force. I have heard mixed reviews of this skill-some like it, some don't. I was wondering this myself, and have some questions. This is my current build for reference: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600crcRsMkrZZb.2 1. Should I get Sever Force? If so, where do the rest of my points go into-Seer or TK tree? 2. If I don't get Sever Force (aka, if the answer to the above question is No), where should I begin allocating my skills to-Seer or TK tree? 3. If the answer to the above question is Yes, should I go up one more tier in the Balance tree or invest in a new tree entirely? On a side note, PvP armor at 40- I'm not really sure what set to get! I am currently a Balance Sage, and do not wish to re-spec to Heal anytime soon. I have the level 40 gear with Alacrity, but I'm not a healer, so what gear would be best? Thanks!
  25. Thanks for the help guys, but I've got two last questions- first off, builds. I've heard that the Shield Spec (Tank spec) is apparently really bad? I remember on my old Vanguard it was like, among the top builds? Guessing something bad happened in 1.3? I enjoy Tanking, so is playing as a Tank Specced PT still viable and able to do decent damage output? I'm scared to start one only to find out that its the least wanted build....or I fall apart in a WZ. secondly, crew skills-I want to take Armortech, but would Armstech be a smarter choice? I like that I could augment stuff as Armortech, so I could also sell Aug kits off at higher levels for easy cash, but is it a good choice? Or is arms better? Feel like armor would be but not sure.
