  1. Swtor gives great singleplayer experience which lasts for years. Experience continues thru the years, it doesnt stop like in true singleplayer games where you loose you character and need to go from scratch with every new game. For that reason alone, MMO is better for solo players than any singleplayer game around. So no, I wont be going anywhere else, this is better experience. All I need from MMO part is GTN, nothing else. Dont need social part - my social needs are met in real life, not with internet strangers of which many taking advantage of anonimity.
  2. I really dont hate any part of the game, I really dont. I just dont play parts of game I have no interest in. I just think it is content which lasts too short to justify its time/resource investment. Abandoned houses after a month from other games tell me that. That content is not repeatable like other things are which lessens its use.
  3. Why tactical Fp KDY was made for exactly? I resubbed recently and I keep wondering whats the point, is it faster queue for dps roles only or something else? No loot there, no story....
  4. Agree on this argument. Everyone should be aware that some people just dont care about being better players. And no in game rewards or fear of kick will change that. Otherwise, nice work on guide.
  5. Hm, where did I say I want to kill the story? I love story just as much as you do. Vast amounts of subbers are all here for different reasons, some for story, some for pvp, some for rp, some for all of it and some for some of it. All I said people want ToR to be something it is not and keep insisting on it on the wrong place.
  6. What can I say - In real life, Im businessman just like they are. And I want best for my company. Just like their owners want for theirs. And if they say that class stories are too expensive, I take that for granted. Why? Again, no businessman would miss a chance to make a profit. I do that in my business, they do it in theirs. About lazy and inefficient companies - sure there are companies like that, but they dont last long. Or they are just public or goverment companies with lot of birocrats sitting there. In private enterprise companies, lazy companies are an exception, in my experience ofc. If they were lazy in BW/EA, they wouldnt make in such short time to go from sinking ship to stable sub based game. Ask yourself - if there is sooo many requests for class stories, why wouldnt BW make them and make profit, win-win, right? If really there is so many requests, my company would definately do them. My opinion is there are really not so much requests like people want them to be. Here on forums we see maybe 50 people with class story requests. Ok, let it be 100. Ok, 2000 or 10000. Sadly, this is not nearly enough. Second issue with class story - longetivity. My company wouldnt do any class story if it takes few hours to finish it and months to produce. Story driven player will unsub when finished and my company sinks down because we invested a lot and got only 15$ from each player. This is all simplified ofc, but you get the picture.
  7. Someone please make SWG fansite, this is becoming ridiculous.
  8. It is all marketing talk, it is as old as human kind is. Companies will never say yes or no, it is always maybe, we will see, cant promise etc. In my company, I never say customers it cant be done or there is no goods at stock. I always say let me check, will call back later, give me some time etc. Behind all that is ofc fear of loosing customer, meaning loosing income by not selling.
  9. Laziness does not exist in business world . And BW/EA are definately business companies, not charity. If you are lazy, you are out of business very soon. You clearly dont have any idea about business when main point you mentioning is annual income. It means nothing really without mentioning staff costs, interest payments for loans, server costs and maintenance, marketing, franchise cost etc.etc.etc. And when you deduct all expenses, shareholders/owners want their share of the cake. In the end, you end up with 10-20% of income you mentioned and which you can reinvest in new content. Also, ToR was most expensive game in the history costing over 200mil $. And game almost sunk at the begining. BW wont do same mistake and invest too much in content which does not attract enough customers. As you said, they have enough money, but its market is too small to take that risk. If they clearly said they wont do more class stories, they must have good reason for that. No businessman in their right mind would miss oportunity to make profit and in this case, market is too small and costs too high. Personally, I love class stories, but also understand why there wont be any.
  10. Well said. Kotor people keep coming here and expecting to see Kotor. They want Kotor 3, not ToR. And they keep whining here. Problem is they come to wrong place, this is online forum of ToR mmorpg, not Bioware site.
  11. Sure it was selling point, it still is. Back then, when you bought ToR, you got class stories. Now, new player dont even have to buy ToR, only download and get stories for free. I dont see where BW lied, maybe with selling, now gives for free
  12. I dont think anyone on this forum is against class stories. In fact, most of us want them. Only difference is some of us understand it is too expensive content which last very short. Also, by definition class stories belong to single player content and not MMO. ToR is most expensive game in history, and I think it is largely due to those stories with cinematics and voiceovers. And that expensive game almost sunk. Think BW dont want to repeat same mistake. Also, people were asking for class stories in WoW and Blizzard said same thing - too expensive.
  13. Sure, that would be ok if we could enlarge just buff/debuff. But they are part of whole player bar and with enlarging buffs, we also enlarge player bar with health/ energy bar which is not good. Buff/debuff window should be separate from player bar. Allso, would be great if we could reduce size of normal buffs ( willpower, crit, end) and increase size of temporary buffs/procs. I always wonder how madness sorcerers and asassins manage to track their debuffs on target, and be able to tell which debuff is theirs. This is one of things which bothers me most in ToR.
  14. Sure, I cant speak for everyone else, but for me. Im saying that just from pure logic. And I think it is logical if player plays on PVE server, he is not interested in WORLD PVP, what this thread is about. We are not talking about warzones or arenas where PVE server players go if they want to pvp.
  15. Strange, I leveled more than 10 characters on both factions and never ever saw a datacron or bump on it. Only datacron kinda easy to find in one on Hutta, on the beach, but it is still away from questing route.
  16. I dont think OP is asking this for lore reasons, being on pve server means player is not even interested if another faction even exist, let alone having to deal with them.
  17. Im interested how did people find datacrons at 1st? There were no guides back then, no quests leading to them, did people even know datacrons exist to look for, was there even some hint from BW? Or people were just bumping them by accident and word spread around? Didnt play ToR from launch , so Im really interested in this matter.
  18. Only problem I have with flagging on pve server is lack of information how to get flagged off. Im playing for about a year in total and only recently I found out (by asking in general chat) that I need to be in safe place to get rid of flag. Nowhere in game I found that info. I came from WoW and there is a rule of not doing any pvp for 5 min and flag with wear off. Having to be in safe area here was news to me.
  19. Hm, you guys must be really bored with game to do something this.
  20. Yes, I guess you are right. Playing as dps would be quicker, time efficient, but whats the rush? Im not trying to break any record here, I just want to try the game from all perspectives, playing game to spend some time, not to save it. If I dont have time, wouldnt play a game at all. Hm, might try healer/healer combo next time I played with Vette also on Mara, only drawback is running back to her to get melee mobs off her sometimes.
  21. There is no point "opening devs eyes" or such things. Class stories are just expensive to make and just dont fit in cost/benefit analysis. Even Blizzard stated same thing, it takes too much resources to make for very fast consume time. I know, from fan point of view, you just want stuff you like. But cruel reality is different, as much as I like stories, I understand they are just not viable for their production costs and benefit they get from it.
  22. Care to explain why is silly to level as healer? I did it on sorc and operative and was quite easy and never ever died, not to mention no downtime between fights and fast FP queues. Soloing Oricon bosses and H2+ no problem. Also, leveling gunslinger 46 atm with HK, it was fastest leveling so far, with blue mods on HK and GS, putting new mods every 4 levels in both gear. Finished class story at lvl 46 vs lvl 50 boss, it was a cake. Only using selfhealing every 5-6 trash pulls. In the future, I will always use HK on all alts, guy is a beast.
  23. How do you that for a fact? Did you ask every single player? I just ASSUME there is a lot more players who dont care if there is housing or not, but wont say it is a fact. On a side note - in SWG, why there were ghost towns if housing was so popular? Why people abandoned their loving houses? To me, it looks like a week or two hobby and not worth devs effort making it for few guys who maybe love it for few months.
  24. ToR is definately heavy cpu-bound. My example: had Amd 6850, bought 6870- got 3-5 fps increase Had core2duo@3ghz, bought i5 4670 - 30-40 fps increase 8gb Ram in all versions With i5, I get 105fps on planets, minimum 35 fps on fleet during prime time, 45-50 fps in wz or ops
  25. This was answered several times, but ok.. Comm caps are here to slow character progress in order to people dont get bored and unsub when they rush and buy all comms gear. Nothing more to it, devs just cant pump so much content as fast as players can consume it.
