  1. There are no Jedi weaknesses. The things HK says to do canonically don't work (any better than any other way). I debunked every one of his tactics before. For example... He recommends killing people to throw a Jedi off his/her game. Jedi have been in war zones. Where many MANY people die. In order to make a Jedi hesitate from killing people you have to do something like blow up an entire planet. That is the problem with HK he's simply wrong.
  2. I have this same problem with many Sith and Republic non-Sensitives in the game... Though I am pretty sure I know what is going on. The people who train these guys can't really train them to fight Sith or Jedi. There is simply no training that is sufficient. Even vaunted Mandalorian training only gets you so far and we know canonically that no military in Star Wars was ever actually able to stand up to the Jedi or the Sith... Not even the Mandalorians, though they came the most close. Even Teras Kasi, a martial art specifically built to fight Force Users, doesn't actually work that well because Force Users simply learned how to counter it, and even worse, learned how to use it and were automatically better at it. (see the Medstar series when a Jedi Healer with a passing knowledge of it takes out the Galactic Champion easily.) So what do these people do? Well they don't want their men to be scared of Force Users... So they "train them" to fight Force Users... By train them I mean blow a lot of smoke (kind of like how HK-47 gives completely not all that helpful advice) and give them a false sense of security. So what is happening is those men think they have been trained to handle Force Users but in reality... No.
  3. I am considering unsubbing but I don't know. I almost unsubbed before server transfers because it was impossible for me to play the game. Currently the game is fine, and F2P is a good idea, but I don't like WoW and this game is basically a reskin. I feel kind of ripped off. I bought this game to specifically avoid "WoW style raids" which was a major selling point for me and now the game is basically WoW style. I wish one of the devs would straight up address why they went back on their promise to the community.
  4. No. BioWare wants us all to play Sith Empire though.
  5. Remove CC first and then we can talk.
  6. 1. The Republic never knew the Sith were deceived. 2. The Republic offered the Sith numerous chances to surrender. 3. The Sith, even when they were defeated, continued to swear up and down that they would destroy the Republic. 4. Rather than surrender the Sith resorted to killing their own women and children and engaging in suicide attacks against the Republic. The Republic didn't "genocide" the Sith. The Sith genocided themselves.
  7. I'm going to say that BioWare has failed. They have faltered, yes, but they could recover. They need to exit their comfort zone though and they need to take on fresh ideas.
  8. This has been the main theme of Star Wars actually, even the 100 Years of Darkness was caused when the Dark Jedi (who later became the Sith) attacked the Republic completely unprovoked after being exiled from Tython for assaulting Jedi and trying to force Jedi to fall to the Dark Side. The Republic has never ever been the aggressor. At the most they have launched serious counter-attacks. A lot of people blame the Republic and the Jedi for the supposed "Genocide of the Sith" which didn't happen... At least not in the way Gnost Dural is trying to make it seem. What those people forget is that this was probably the last straw for the Republic. In the 100 Years of Darkness the Dark Jedi, as previously mentioned, attacked them without any provocation and plunged the galaxy into 100 Years of War with trillions on top of trillions of deaths. The Republic, when they, backed by the Jedi Order, defeated the Sith the Republic wanted to execute the Sith for war crimes. The Jedi Order argued for leniency and instead gave the Dark Jedi (who would become the Sith) a ship, food, and supplies and said, "Get out of Republic space and don't come back." Which was probably the nicest thing that could be done all things considered. The Sith supporters forget that happened. When Naga Sadow caused the Great Hyperspace War I can imagine the Republic being very angry and there was probably a conversation like this that took place: Republic Military: "Okay, that is it. I am sick of these mother-lovin' Sith in our mother-lovin' galaxy. We are gonna wipe them all out and end this once and for all." Jedi Order: "That isn't such a good idea. We should be lenient. We should give them a..." Republic Military: "Oh heck no. That is the crap you said last time. Now look what happened because of it. These guys almost destroyed 2 planetary capitals including Coruscant and that one psycho blew up an entire STAR SYSTEM with the power of his mind. Uh-uh. No. Way too dangerous. We need to go to Korriban and nuke 'em 'till they glow then shoot them in the dark." Jedi Order: "They can be contained, they can be retrained..." Republic Military: "No. Did you not understand the words that were coming out of my mouth? THAT... GUY... BLEW... UP... AN... STAR SYSTEM... WITH... THE... POWER... OF... HIS... MIND! Can you guarantee that nobody else can do that same kind of thing?" Jedi Order: "Well not but..." Republic Military: "Exactly. Now that that discussion is done.. Lets see if we can't finish these guys off..."
  9. The saddest part? I'll straight up say it. With 6 months, a decent budget, and with the ability to deviate sharply from WoW... I could make this game the best MMORPG on the planet and I am not exaggerating.
  10. I think the problems TOR have are because they tried to be too much like WoW and lost sight of Star Wars. Let me explain... WoW is a game. It is a popular and successful, if in my opinion bad, game. The problem with comparing TOR to WoW is simple... WoW had years and years and years to develop itself to what it is now. TOR tried to clone WoW way too closely in mechanics and game play and as such started in a losing battle. Why would I play a game that is copying WoW if I don't like WoW? If I do like WoW then why would I play a game that is like WoW but with less refinement? TOR's main opportunity was to provide an MMO experience that was significantly different in playstyle, mechanics, and focus than WoW. That was the only way TOR was going to be successful. Initially they tried this. The story focus is great... But it simply isn't enough. There were no attempts to really differentiate this game from WoW. There was story that had next to no impact at all and the choices did not impact the game play significantly if at all. So there wasn't much of a focus on story. This game promised us "heroic content" and swore up and down that we wouldn't see WoW-like raids. Specifically we were told that we would NOT see big "everyone fight the boss" operations. Then we were given nothing but WoW-like raids and little to no "heroic content" defining "heroic" as they originally outlined. BioWare kept pushing the Imperial faction at every chance they got, not taking into account that most people: A) Don't actually want to play the underdog in a game that doesn't actually end. B) Don't want to play a faction that looks like it is inferior and "not as cool" very much. C) Want to be unbound by rules and want to look "awesome" and "dark" if they can. They championed the virtues of the Sith constantly but never really got into the major downsides, so much so that many posters on these very forums have gross misunderstandings of what Sith are while at the same time honestly believe the Republic and the Jedi are genocidal maniacs. This game ended up being a mediocre half-finished product. It is a watered down version of WoW with an injection of storyline and a Star Wars skin on it. What could have been great died because it was afraid to take chances. BioWare was also warned. I warned them. Many other people warned them. We saw the writing on the wall and told them... They told us we were wrong. They mocked us. They brushed us off. They have nobody to blame but themselves.
  11. Ryloth isn't in Republic space and isn't a member world of the Republic. Ryloth doesn't join the Republic until the Clone Wars and the first thing that the Republic does is send a massive military force to Ryloth to help free the people there. Actually according to BioWare you can only advance with the permission of a Sith Lord, not the civilian military, and if a Sith Lord doesn't want you to advance... You don't. It doesn't matter how good, smart, or capable you are... Sith Sith control everything. Also yes... The Sith are by and large Chaotic stupid. By the by if you want to know how the Sith put the Republic on its back heels: 1. A larger military - They were not outnumbered. The other way around actually, as far as military power goes 2. They had the element of surprise. 3. They had spent centuries planning the invasion. 4. With every advantage they still failed.
  12. I have... Many times: New Flashpoint/Operation New Content Ideas
  13. Ugh... Don't reply in quotes please... It makes it really difficult to reply to your replies: No. You wouldn't. If it was a rogue Sith Lord you, as an imperial citizen, training or not, would die. Very fast. Without inflicting any damage. Also... Rogue Force Users are absolutely not easy to contain. You also forget that they don't have to be rogue. They can be normal Sith Lords who have a bad day and thus decide to kill a bunch of non-Sensitives. They can do that by Imperial law. (This is explained in the Revan book regarding Lord Scourge who states that he could kill a civilian for looking at him in broad daylight.) There are about 6. The Sith don't care at all about non-sensitives. It is Imperial law that any Sith can kill any non-sensitive for any reason at any time... Legally. You cannot actually. You are restricted based on what your Sith Lord wants. Unless you are a Force Sensitive you are always a 2nd or 3rd class citizen. Uhm... Non Sensitives die of poverty and hunger, as well as random displeasure of any Sith... I mean... If you call living being in a place where if you accidentally bump into the wrong person on the street that you can legally be killed simply because they didn't like the speed of your apology, the color of your hair, the tone of your voice, or the fact that you bumped into them... Stop dreaming if you think living in the Sith Empire is anything less than a hellish existence filled with fear and despair.
  14. BioWare... This is your chance... With the Free to Play crowd coming in EA will give you leeway... Please... Please... PLEASE... Drop the WoW clone stuff. Please give us STAR WARS content. Give us operations that are HEROIC in the manner that YOU described HEROIC. Specifically that don't end with a giant "everyone gang up on the boss!" battle. Give us what we paid for. The Star Wars: The Old Republic that was in your original design documents.
  15. Honestly I highly doubt that you play now (or have ever played) a Jedi Sentinel. You seem to have no idea how difficult the class actually is. I imagine you play a Sorcerer or a caster class and you are tired of Sentinels scoring kills on you... Which is fine... But please... Stop trying to get the class nerfed for no reason.
  16. Stop it already. There is nothing wrong with the Jedi Knight (Sentinel or Guardian specs) or their Sith Warrior mirrors. STOP IT. It isn't the game that is making me quit. It is the whining. The constant whining about things that are non-issues.
  17. Just because you knew the other person wouldn't agree doesn't take away the fact that you offered. Considering Jabba is a crime lord I'm pretty sure we can come up with a huge list of crimes he committed. In that case kidnapping and illegal imprisonment are two of them. Sure. Irrelevant. It doesn't give Jabba the right to freeze him in carbonite (which equates to years of torture) against his will. It doesn't give Jabba the right to imprison Chewbacca. It doesn't give Jabba the right to imprison Leia. Jabba could have filed legal action against Han Solo and had his wages garnished I guess, he might have legally been in the right to impound the Millennium Falcon as well... He didn't do that though. Jabba can't hold Chewbacca responsible as he was technically only in the employ of Han Solo as far as smuggling contracts went. Jabba could have had Leia Organa taken away by the proper authorities as well after her attempted freeing of an illegally imprisoned and currently being tortured sentient being failed. Actually the sum Luke offered was the amount that Han owed. Also I didn't see Jabba try to have Luke calmly escorted out. I seem to remember something about Jabba's reaction being to dump Luke into a pit with a Rancor. Ahh you are on some sticky Star Wars legal ground. The Bounty was legal inside Hutt Space. Han Solo, however, was grabbed outside of that legal jurisdiction. Also since Tatooine wasn't Hutt space at the time, Tatooine was Imperial space, and Jabba's actions were against Imperial law he doesn't even have that leg (if he had legs) to stand on. A more accurate description would be: Jabba the Hutt was illegally imprisoning three of Luke Skywalker's friends. Luke Skywalker made an offer equal to the debt the Hutt was owed. The Hutt refused the offer and Luke, who was unarmed at the time, assured him that he was taking his friends when he left. The Hutt reacted with attempted murder. After the attempted murder failed Jabba planned to execute Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, and Han Solo. Before the crime lord could give the final order Luke Skywalker made one final forceful appeal telling Jabba to release them or he would react as though his life were threatened. The criminal gave the order and Luke Skywalker and his companions, made good on the response.
  18. It specced for it, it is a very small speed boost. So small in fact that for a long time people weren't quite sure it even worked. It claims to be a 15% speed boost if 2 points are specced into it and the person is running Ataru form. In reality it is only around a 5-7% speed boost, confirmed from numerous tests. Very hard to tell due to the issues with character placement the game already has.
  19. It all depends. In the novelization we get a look into Mace's mindset about that moment that the movie doesn't show. The Council, most likely, wouldn't have kicked him off the Council for it, but might have cautioned him about his actions. You do understand that Palpatine had just killed 3 Jedi Masters in less than a second and had revealed himself to be the Sith Lord who orchestrated the war and killed trillions of sentient beings. That has to be taken into account and the Jedi Order clearly would have.
  20. Yes. Quite sure. Thank you for trying to attack the poster in place of the argument. Allied combatants are often referred to as "peacekeeping forces" depending on the situation. I could go much further into detail on that but to do so would require me to reference real world events and nations. We are not allowed to do that on these forums. Okay... First of all... Star Wars isn't our world and the military forces have never followed the same rules so what causes someone to be a War Criminal in real life might not be the same in Star Wars. Heck, in Star Wars genocide a peaceful species who has surrendered isn't always a War Crime. As to your analogy about cops and soldiers... Sorry but no. If a cop is trying to arrest a suspect and the suspect is holding a handgun and has not put it away, and more importantly is aiming it at the Cop then the cop can and will shoot the suspect. Your example of Palpatine. Palpatine was actively firing Force Lightning at Mace Windu. That is the same as having a loaded gun in his hand. Again you resort to putting words in my mouth. That is strike two. Please keep your comments on the topic. Failure to do so will result in my discontinuation of conversation with you.
  21. Sith Warrior: The Sith Warrior continues to follow the instructions from the Emperor. Starting with assassinating a Sith Lord who is plotting against the Emperor. Then another Sith Lord who is likewise the same. This repeats a couple of times. Eventually, however, one of the Sith Warrior's companions picks up on a pattern... All the Sith assassinated were the rivals of another Sith Lord. Investigation leads to a horrible truth... The Sith Warrior has been doing the bidding, not of the Emperor, but of a usurper who is masquerading as the Emperor. It is revealed that the Sith Emperor truly is dead and this pretender has been taking his name in vain. The Sith Warrior doesn't like being used and is now ready to unleash the Emperor's wrath one final time as he takes on this would-be Emperor. Following the destruction of the pretender the Sith Warrior is visited by the spirits of powerful Sith past... Including the Sith Emperor's... The Sith Warrior is told that there are Sith who are undeserving of the name and they have wormed their way into positions of power. In the name of the true Sith the Warrior is tasked to do what he must to assume the position of Emperor and crush the Republic once and for all. Jedi Knight: Rumors persist of the Emperor's continued existence. The Jedi Knight is tasked with learning the truth, and if the Emperor is found alive to bring him before the Jedi Council. The Jedi Knight goes planet to planet following leads. The Emperor is indeed found alive, but weakened, and is rebuilding strength to retake control of the Empire. The Jedi Council informs the Knight that he is to remain away from the Emperor for now. They inform him that there will be a time for him to strike, but that time is not yet. Instead they order him to instead track down the Emperor's true body while they make plans. Finally the Jedi Order gives the word to move once the Emperor's true body is found. On a hidden cloaked station the Jedi Knight confronts the Emperor's body. The Emperor's spirit resettles in the body and a terrible battle is waged. Just as the Jedi Knight is about to strike down the Emperor the Emperor boasts about how he will survive in another body, how he is immortal... He closes his eyes but then opens them wide with terror... Something has gone wrong, he looks up with his mouth agape as the Jedi Knight ends the Emperor's threat once and for all. The Jedi Counselor: The threat of the still living Emperor is too great to ignore. The Jedi Council has learned that the Sith Emperor is still alive. The Jedi Counselor has been given a mission of high importance. The Jedi Counselor must travel and find the last descendent of the Sunrider bloodline and learn the secret to the Wall of Light. Once they learn the secret the Jedi Counselor will have to travel to the Emperor's secret hidden base and be prepared to act. The Jedi Council informs the Counselor that the Emperor will return to his body soon... When he does the Counselor must trap the Sith Emperor's spirit within the Wall of Light and prevent it from ever leaving its body again... Only then can the Jedi Knight, who is destined to destroy the Emperor, truly succeed. Once at the base the Counselor must fight through the Emperor's most powerful Sith Sorcerers and then be prepared to use the Wall of Light. Once this is done the Emperor becomes trapped within his own body and can finally be defeated once and for all. Edit: Basically the JK and JC story lines take place before the SW does in my examples.
  22. Just because I know how to deal with something doesn't mean it isn't overpowered and unfair. Funny, when your side of the debate attacked Guarded by the Force which is one of the most easily countered and avoided abilities in the entire game yet is constantly yelled at for being "OP'ed" by many. The problem is Orbital Strike has no weaknesses as an ability. It: 1. It on a class that has an instant ability that grants it the power to not be able to be interrupted. 2. It is on a class that has another ability that lets it become completely immune to all forms of CC. 3. It is on a class that is already very strong against melee, and shuts off all melee gap closers, and can call this down onto targets who are in melee range. This ability shouldn't be on a class with all of that without some way for other classes to counter it. Look at Guarded by the Force: 1. It takes 50% of our HP to use it. 2. We can be stunned, which makes us unable to do anything in the time it is active. 3. We can be rooted, which more or less makes us unable to do anything in the time it is active. 4. We can be knocked back, which more or less makes us unable to do anything in the time it is active. 5. We can be snared and the person we were attacking can run, which... See above. 6. We can be pacified/blinded which more or less makes us unable to do anything in the time it is active. 7. We can be mezzed, which makes us unable to anything in the time that it is active. I can name 8 counters to that one ability. Against this ability most melee can... "Leave the area, thus preventing us from attacking, while we can still be attacked." Or, if you are a Sentinel it is possible to ride it out with reduced damage from the talent and popping a Cooldown, but you still take HEAVY damage doing that. The ability does need a weakness that intelligent opponents can exploit just like Guarded by the Force does.
  23. That explains a lot. Respeccing mid-tournament seems a bit... Unfair... To me though.
  24. The Marauder didn't Rebuke, he didn't Saber Ward, he never used Force Camo, he didn't use his CC break... I have a feeling this wasn't so much a gear issue as it was that the Marauder's defenses were on CD.
  25. Nope. You are trying to give the term "peacekeeper" connotations that the word doesn't have. Here is an example: A war has broken out between party A and party B, party C sends in troops to stop the fighting by using force when needed party C's force is a peacekeeping force. or another example: A war has broken out between party A and party B. Party B is losing the war. Party C sends in troops to ally with party B in securing its own boarders during the conflict which involves engaging and actively fighting the forces of party A. Party C is a peacekeeper. Basically "peacekeeper" means a lot more than you seem to think it means. Also... You don't have to be attacked to offer surrender. Here is a perfect example: The Sith attack the Republic. Start taking Republic worlds. The Jedi send out a TRANSMISSION to the Sith that says, "Emperor of the Sith. Your forces have invaded Republic space. You have 7 hours to withdraw and surrender to be tried for War Crimes. If you don't we will engage any Sith forces that remain." And BAM the Sith had a chance to surrender.
