  1. I bought the hover pod too. I didn't even think of the decorating potential! How cute
  2. I can't drag my character around the screen to reposition the center of focus. When I zoom in I can't shift him to view his helmet or boots. The zoom is also stopping short so I can no longer get tight onto belts or details. This makes working on new outfits extremely difficult.
  3. I didn't realize they broke the preview window too. I foolishly thought since it looked the same, it functioned the same. Most expansions I spend a lot of time taking screenshots of gear for TorFashion, but I can't move my character around the screen to focus on helmets or boots. The zoom doesn't go in far enough to get close to belts. I listed that on the PTS bug thread and mentioned it on other threads.
  4. I haven't done the story yet, but I'm relieved that so far they haven't brought Vaylin back from the dead. I decided to drop down to preferred for awhile. With the massive nerfs to conquest and the activity finder, there is just no need to keep access to all of my alts. Since I need my fluff, I'm planning to get the "CE" package. Oh yay, my sub renewed earlier today. Looks like I'll have 2 months of forum posting. I'll be getting the pod, but I wish there were a hint of something cute in it...
  5. I hadn't tried making a new outfit yet. I was too irritated by being stuck in combat mode to even try. Why did they think people would want to see their outfits while in combat? Are the people who work on this feature even interested in cosmetics?
  6. Don't forget there will be another "story beat" or two before the year's ends. That should add at least another half hour of story for this special 10 year anniversary
  7. I can get used to all of the other changes to the UI. I don't like them, but I will get used to them in time. But I can't stand having my paper doll constantly in combat stance. It is driving me crazy! This one, stupid little change has crushed any desire I have of making new outfits. Please, for all that is holy, add a combat stance toggle to the outfitter when you are adding in weapons.
  8. Damn it! One of the few things I was looking forward to was redoing my butt ugly Nautolan as a Cathar with one of the new styles. There is simply no reason not to give them the new hair!
  9. Yah, they posted a little while ago that the companions that don't have gear slots were intentionally done so because "developer vision". So apparently it is OK for Mandalore to run around in a slave bikini, that's within their vision, but it's not ok for Nikko to take off his hat. Player enjoyment is not a factor in their decisions. And it really, really has nothing to do with them being cheap.
  10. The Korriban armor for Juggernauts was a reskin of what has traditionally been Agent armor. I'm hoping it was a place holder. The leveling planet rewards are being redone, but I don't know what is replacing them yet. The last PTS build was very incomplete. Is this the set? Off hand I don't know any just like them. JackieKo said they were hoping to put these sets on a vendor at some point in the future, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't think Bioware realizes that much of the starter planet gear rewards used unique or rare skins. As for quest rewards, this is what I think is going to happen: Currently on live each "origin" gets a set of gear per planet (2 for the starter planet). I think, to accommodate combat styles, that is going to be cut in half. Each planet will get one force user set and one tech user set per faction. I assume we will get a choice of weapon based on what our combat styles are, much like we currently get a choice between tank & DD. Character creation choices are based on origin story. World drop armor hasn't changed, but the goggles you like aren't world drops.
  11. I've never seen a single person claim the static Onderon gear was BiS. However, I have seen many people claim unoptimized modded set gear is though. And guess what? they were almost always the exact same people who claim getting to BiS was way too fast and are advocates for locking BiS away from casual players. They conveniently ignore two things, even when they are pointed out to them. 1. Unoptimized gear is not BiS and Dxun had exclusive gear. 2. Different playstyles gear up at vastly different speeds. A lot of players "stuck" with unmodded gear because that is as far as they got on the treadmill. You aren't speaking for all raiders. There have been plenty of raiders posting in favor of the 7.0 gear changes who want casual players blocked from BiS gear simply so they can feel exclusive, and that it has noting to do with needing the better gear for the raids themselves. They can only get motivated to raid if they can have exclusive gear for showing off. Blaming RNG on casual players getting access to BiS is just bizarre. The two aren't linked in any way, shape or form. This is another point that many raiders keep twisting around. No, we don't need 306 to COMPLETE heroics, but we do need it to complete them EFICIENTLY. Players are being herded into doing ancient content for the thousandth time and 7.0 doubles down on that. The better the gear, the faster the grind for ALL content. Why should casual/solo players have to take 2x longer grinding heroics than raiders? Also, MM chapters do need top end gear as does soloing MM flashpoints.
  12. My prediction is that it will go live right on schedule. There will be some hideous bug that makes it hard to play or stay connected, yet people will persevere. Before I get home from work the servers will be taken down for a hotfix and won't be back up for at least two days. There will be a roll-back that will only affect players who got something good. I will run out of popcorn.
  13. Dear Bioware, Adding insult to injury shouldn't be seen as a goal. (These changes should have been announced months ago. Waiting for the last second makes it seem like you are being deliberately underhanded. The tacticals that are being removed should be replaced with the new tacticals you are planning on adding. You are planning on giving those classes new tacticals, right? The other items should be compensated for with full purchase price/crafting cost.)
  14. Their minds are made up, the DvL toggle is leaving. In time you will get used to it being gone. It might take longer to get used to the UI changes... A couple of links to help you avoid mistakes like rebuying Cartel Market items again: SWTORista has great information for new players and old alike. Reddit has information for new players too.
  15. There have been some nice flow charts on Reddit... Since I want my tech fragments to finish collecting gear sets, the only gear I'll get is from the solo drops Bioware was so reluctant to give us I really don't know why they didn't lower the tech frag requirement and up the credit cost instead. You wouldn't know they were trying to reduce inflation the way they ignored a potentially great credit sink.
  16. One thing to consider, some people don't include the combat when they are measuring story content. You seem to be including the combat. That turns the content length discussion into one of apples and oranges. A "story" flashpoint might take 45 minutes to run through, but only have 10 minutes of actual story. So be prepared to see vastly different estimates after it releases to.
  17. More like this: 1. Log in and redo the skill tabs on our characters and figure out a new rotation. Maybe pick a second combat style. If we are lucky loadouts will be working correctly now and we can make a few loadouts. 2. Cosmetic tabs continue to work, just no weapon in them yet. Celebrate Remnant gear unlocking in collections by making a new outfit or two. 3. Most people will do the story before they grind gear, so an hour or two there, with the overused Lana as our forced companion in the flashpoint. 4. Hammerstation will almost assuredly not be on group finder at this time, so many people will figure out which of the few offerings that actually are on group finder is the fastest/easiest and spam that instead. 5. The few weekly offerings on the activity finder will be overcrowded and people will get bchy when they have to wait for respawn and clickies. 6. Review the patch on social media, either yea or nay. Get popcorn, it's going to be intersting!
  18. She didn't say anything about difficulty. Many of us don't enjoy them, even though we are perfectly capable of doing them. Bonus content as an anniversary reward should be fun. Like getting a piece of cake when you go out for your birthday. Not everyone would enjoy getting a free plate of Brussels sprouts for their birthday dinner, even if they still got free cake if they ate a heaping plate of sprouts first.
  19. I find their first picks a little odd. I've seen a couple decent Lana and Satele cosplayers, but there seems to be a lot more interest in Revan and Malgus. I would have thought, given that Malgus is the focus for the whole year, they would have started with him. Missed opportunity for synergy.
  20. I'm a sucker and will probably pony up, but man, this is so tone deaf! "Legacy of the Sith kicks off a year-long celebration full of galactic intrigue, conflict, and mystery, all to commemorate the 10th anniversary of SWTOR!" So, so far, two months into the 10 year anniversary celebration, there has been nothing yet. What is this year long celebration you keep going on about? None of your customers have seen even a whiff of it. Surely the art decos you plan on putting on the vendor are only a tiny part of this vaunted celebration since they aren't more than what has been done for lesser anniversaries? When is it going to start? Is LotS considered the start? If so, some details about the rest of the year are sorely needed for morale. Are you counting this blatant cash grab as part of this mythical "celebration"? Maybe you should try turning around public perception of 7.0 instead of trying to milk it for money at this point. Oh, and are these items going to remain exclusive to those who purchased the pack, or will they be sold on the CM in a few years time, or show up on a future GS vendor? Because, that's your track record now.
  21. I have asked raiders many times why all of the exclusive fluff they get, and increased drops of everything else, aren't enough of a motive to do the content they claim to love doing. They always ignore me. I think all of that fluff that they don't care about should be made available to everyone in the form of random drops. If they get exclusive gear, they shouldn't get exclusive fluff. I see no reason they should get both. If they don't want to give up their fluff to get BiS gear, then that gear should stat cap to be exactly the same as other gear based on content. For example, if they are running heroics, their gear should downgrade to be exactly the same as conquest gear so they get no advantage from it. If conquest gear is "good enough" for solo players doing heroics, then it is "good enough" for NiM raiders doing heroics too. I genuinely think many raiders just don't realize how slow and unrewarding a lot of content is, but they also don't want to know either. It's a "let them eat cake" situation. They don't see the privileges they already have, only the one they don't have. (Dxun sets don't count as exclusive gear for some reason even though it has unique graphics too. Maybe because there is a miniscule change of scrubs getting it in Kai's random box of randomness?) Much like they simply don't see why other play styles would even want BiS, because they don't acknowledge that nearly every player wants the 1000th heroic they do to be as fast as possible, and BiS very definitely makes old, worn out content faster.
  22. You are the only respondent who hit the nail on the head. The changes, as seen on the PTS, greatly affect time to kill. While fights might not be any harder than now, they definitely take longer. The longer a mob takes to kill, the more buttons that have to be mashed. The more buttons that have to be mashed, the more stress there is on arthritic hands. 7.0 might not make the game unplayable for the OP, it will make it more painful.
  23. We might get more original outfits, as opposed to dozens of reskins, if they did
