Bottom line why 5.0 is a slap in the face to PVPers
Dewlmenow replied to FourPawnBenoni's topic in General Discussion
Weird to use JC as one of those dead servers when it's probably tied with Ebon Hawk as the 3rd healthiest server behind Harb and TRE. Other than that, your point stands. -

Whats gonna happen to The Eternal Championship?
Dewlmenow replied to otilane's topic in General Discussion
It will get the GSF treatment just like the rest of the stuff that they made and were abandoned after they weren't as popular as they expected. What a waste of developer resources when they could have made some good repeatable content out of it. -
How about just putting gear back on NM Bosses?
Dewlmenow replied to gabigool's topic in General Discussion
That is the same for anything except PVP, which has battlefront. Having KotOR and KotOR 2 to replay is more than most other sections of the game has for star wars replayability. -
What is going to happen to progression teams?
Dewlmenow replied to nGAGE's topic in General Discussion
If you aren't getting past the Eternal championship and you have better gear than 204, and a decent companion affection, working on improving your knowledge and skills with your class will do more towards helping you than the moderate gear increase will. -

Dewlmenow replied to gabigool's topic in General Discussion
Did you read the context of that reply, because I agree that it's not the best at anything? Dismissing a group completely, even a tiny group like the remaining NIM raiders, is a mistake with the limited population left in this game. -

As I've told PVPers all the time, SWTOR isn't a good PVP game, there are games that specialize in PVP. You can't argue that there are plenty of alternatives to SWTOR that are better regarding PVP. As I've told story players all the time, SWTOR isn't a good story game due to being stuck in an MMO system, there are games that specialize in story that aren't limited by the framework of the game. You can't argue there are plenty of alternatives superior to SWTOR regarding story. -
He doesn't have any idea what he's talking about. You might get turned away from a random pug run if your gear isn't good enough, but if people are trying to fill a team, which happened quite a lot with people leaving over the staleness of operations, gear is considered meaningless because it can easily be grabbed ina short period of time.

Galactic Command loot system means no more Operations
Dewlmenow replied to DarthWoad's topic in General Discussion
PVP servers were dead before KOTFE, but that was it. TFA brought back lots of people, and KOTFE failed to hold them so now practically every server is dead. -
Does KOTET only have nine chapters in total?
Dewlmenow replied to Aowin's topic in General Discussion
He is somebody who has stated that current Blood Hunt HM is harder than any current operation and that NIM EV and KP at their release were the hardest operations ever in SWTOR. I don't think he's actually done any of the harder operations. -
Another thread about NO NEW GROUP CONTENT in KOTET 5.0.

The way you're looking at it, just about anything in this game could be called a treadmill. I don't see raiders as doing anything different than any other section of this game, if anything the story folks are the ones who are most guilty of this. Please tell me more about how playing this game isn't a hobby, and is thus a non sequitur. I personally think that's the most fitting broad category that this falls under. I can't say most people do their hobbies for relaxation, a lot of them enjoy something different than just that. Sports and the team aspect, the thrill of adventurous hobbies like mountain climbing, or just the competition, there are many different reasons people enjoy hobbies instead of just relaxation or e-peen:rolleyes:. But yes, comparing raiding in this game to other hobbies is a false equivalency because? -

Dewlmenow replied to Tanitha's topic in General Discussion
So nothing to address the actual point that calling operations compared to other hobbies a treadmill is meaningless and disingenuous? What a surprise. -

It's sad to see you keep repeating treadmill as if it's some sort of wisdom. Any hobby that can be repeated over a period of time is by this definition a treadmill, so your point is really kind of meaningless. -
It absolutely was better at raiding than it was at being a single player rpg as somebody that has played it for each of those at different times. Shame that they put all their eggs in a basket that can't be anything better than good due to structural limitations.

Yeah, TFA drew in a lot of people and made it seem successful for a while. As somebody else who plays on JC, there really aren't many more people put planets idea than on fleet because there aren't many people on. Outside the starter planets it's lucky if a planet breaks 50 from my checks. Hardly a lot of people out and about.

Based on what? The stellar population?

Uh, back in 2014, the time when this game last saw any raids , roughly 70% of WOW players participated in raids according to MMO Champion. Small percentage indeed. http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/3984-armory-stats-siege-of-orgrimmar-progression-blue-tweets-dlc-439 http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1684581-What-percentage-of-players-complete-raids-at-each-difficulty-level

10%? I remember seeing that 70% had participated in a raid somewhere so I have a hard time believing in 10%. Especially with the success Legion has had.

Announcing Knights of the Eternal Throne
Dewlmenow replied to EricMusco's topic in General Discussion
If it's not at least 8 it's not an op, so your original point was flawed. -
Nah. The reason they are more popular is because they have had more than 1 set of raids released in 3 years.

Raiders are the only people forced to pay... with no new content.
Dewlmenow replied to Vaalin's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, but I'm expecting them to ignore it like the plague, as they've done for anything to do with operations for pretty much the last 3 years outside of the SOR release. -

Dewlmenow replied to Vaalin's topic in General Discussion
I don't think many raiders outside the EV/KP grinders would care if you made the raid gear equivalent to PVP gear, not 190 gear which is ~ 2.X numbers . Tbh though there really is no challenge in the solo game, took me 3 tries to get sprint champion and did the one and only achievement the day it came out in my 198/192 gear, and I'm not even any good. -

Dewlmenow replied to Vaalin's topic in General Discussion
Wow, there's just so much wrong here I don't know where to start. You don't need the best gear for anything that is in solo content, the highest end schematics don't really earn that much outside of the beginning of the expansion when people are in a hurry to gear up quickly. The best way to make a ton of credits in this game require patience and finding some value to gain on buying for less than you can sell it for, not limited to raiding at all. -

Dewlmenow replied to Vaalin's topic in General Discussion
On second thought, disregard my previous message, BW obviously cares about the $ that raiders provide or they would have come out ages ago with the statement that no new raids are coming straight out
