  1. When I landed on Ilum and saw all those level 50 mobs, it totally spoiled me that it was a level 50 planet. I was angry. Mobs shouldn't have levels!
  2. I think one of the problems here is that a simple statement like 'no more class quests!' has severe rumor potential. I don't think this is accurate at all. Makeb is a new planet with an immense amount of content. Ohlen stated that there is enough content on the planet to span the length of a whole GAME. But this is just what they have revealed for the immediate future, and it is wrong to assume that there is not further content planned. It is almost guaranteed that the class quests will continue. I can't see them NOT continuing, in fact. But this is because I can see farther than three seconds into the future and I understand how things are planned. If there is class quest planned but it's not finished and there is no estimated release date, then it won't be revealed. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Laying all your cards on the table when you don't have a solid plan of execution is gaming and artistic suicide. Because some plans start development and then they go nowhere, or they get delayed, or they change. Plus, if you word-vomit all your thoughts into the public the second you have them, people stop looking forward to new things because you don't deliver. In short, wait until you know something is going to happen to talk about it.
  3. I've had no problems at all on Prophecy of the Five.
  4. If a dev is saying that they 'hope' dual spec makes it for the next update, that's a pretty good tell that it's in the works for some point in the future. It's more that the 'we'll look into it' that is normally stated. After all, if it wasn't somewhat close to being implementable, no one working on the game would give any sort of time frame at all.
  5. You can always come up with a new name. And I really, truly understand if you are a roleplayer. It's weird to just change your name, especially if the name means something special to you. But linguistically, adding a special character is changing your name ANYWAY. Why not come up with a different way to spell it with actual letters that people can type? That way, it's still your name, and you're not adding extra hassle to other players. The English language is just chock FULL of weird combinations of letters that make the same sounds! Furlough ---> Furlow, Firlow, Firlough, Ferlough, Pherlouw etc., just as an example. If a name starts with certain letters, you can add a silent H directly after it. Riska ---> Rhiska. Gen ---> Ghen. Or go really crazy and add an H on the end, too! Rhiskah! I'd explore other options before adding umlauts to all your vowels.
  6. Really, the only time you should be using special characters is if they belong in the name. 1. Because special characters don't have the same sound as the letters they look like do. You're completely changing your name. 2. It looks as if your name was taken, and instead of sucking it up and creating a new name, you humped the character map and just went nuts. 3. It makes it impossible for people to contact you or add you to a group without going to the character map themselves, because you cannot copy text in this game. I have one name with an accent on one of the letters (Because that's how it's spelled) But I don't really ever group with him because making people type the name is unfair. So he's my loner.
  7. Still not understanding why people who 'want the game to succeed' are such doomsayers. Is it because if it DOES fail, you want to be able to say 'I called it back in April 2012!!!!' No one cares. The length of your e-peen will not increase if you are right. Of COURSE the game is going to shut down one day. Every single MMO ever made will. In 20 years, there won't even be a WoW anymore. Either enjoy this one while it lasts, or go the hell elsewhere. While you may not be a troll for posting your opinions, it is trollish behavior to post negative opinions as fact, with the goal to get people to believe you through deception. What we know is that BW has the voice actors contracted, which may or may not indicate more material in the future. It's also been stated that there are many more lines recorded that are not in the game. We also know that the new content they spoke about at E3 may either be more free stuff coming our way... or an expansion pack. We know there is no CLASS STORY in this content, but there's a good chunk of additional story on the new planet for everyone, which is probably voice-acted for both your characters and any new characters you run across. Expansion pack or not, there is new content coming. We'll just have to wait and see if it's acted, but it wouldn't quite fit in with the rest of the game if it was all text. So it's pretty safe to assume it will be.
  8. I'm kind of worried that Mind Trick isn't either listed as an origin or destination server. I hope it pops up. The population is usually okay, so here's to hoping it's a destination.
  9. Haha, it blocks the word 'parse' or 'parser,' too, because it contains a word that I guess is a strong curse word in some countries? XD It's probably blocked because of 'turd,' which I can't see being vile enough to block, but that's all I got.
  10. It may 'scream fake,' but this actually went out, and is displayed here out of context. There were about a dozen of these that all went out at the same time, ranging from amazingly impossible like this one (where everything is offered for $10) to super-stingy, such as the one where the only new content is the planet, offered for $34.99. That's why, at the bottom, it asks how likely you are to buy that content pack. Because if someone answered all of them, Bioware would have a good idea of how much they could charge people before people started saying 'okay, the stuff offered just isn't worth it for the cost.' Essentially, the goal of this sheet, is to see (in the unlikely event that this x-pac was offered exactly as written) how likely you would be to buy it. And I think the vast majority of sampled people would be very likely to buy it, as it is a good amount of new stuff for the cost. Soooo, before you all yell about how fake this is and how it can't be real, you might want to do your research and check into how marketing works.
  11. If this goes to live, I will use to no-port-back-to-origin-point as a free fleet pass, just to prove that people can and will.
  12. This is a bug. There's a workaround on the last post of the patch notes thread about a workaround for it. EDIT: Oops, beaten to it.
  13. Yeah, I was a little hot-headed yesterday due to some extreme frustration, and now that I've actually sat and done a couple permutations of the math, you're right. It would only compound things. I've since made another suggestion, perhaps providing an additional daily reward to tanks or healers who queue. (Another commendation or two.)
  14. Yes, I'm aware of that. I would like the link so I can bookmark it. And thank you for posting it. <3
  15. Add checkbox to group finder: "Allow grouping with people outside my level range." Done. NEXT!
  16. I remember a dev post about where server transfer information will ultimately be located (Although right now it gives a 503/access denied error.) I can't find it now. Can someone link me again, 'cuz I'd like to bookmark it.
  17. In a way, I agree with the fact that quests should be given for a flashpoint if you're using the group finder. However, there still needs to be some social aspect to the game, and it's not impossible to go pick up the quests, then plop yourself in the group finder and go do dailies or something. At least you can pick them all up at once, yeah? Even so, for ease of use, I would definitely not complain if I could pick up the quests right from the group finder. I'd kind of like to discuss additional incentives for putting a healer or tank in the queue... An additional commendation, for example, instead of cross-server. Please excuse my insistence on cross-server yesterday. I was severely frustrated. XD
  18. My original post: As I type this, there is someone in general chat on fleet actually COORDINATING the roles for people to select to get a flashpoint on Group Finder to pop. There are not enough healers and tanks. There are NEVER enough healers and tanks. I was actually a supporter of single-server group finder at first, but... Guys, if it's going to be like this, you may as well just not have it. Cross-server queues are needed. Pull DPS from the same server, try to get healers and tanks from the same server, but if not, find them from a different one. No flashpoints below level 50 are popping at all. Please reconsider your decision to not implement cross-server capability before this goes live. Current argument: Adding to the pool of players in the group finder will not fix the problem. (IE: The ratio will be the same.) This is the best argument I've seen against cross-server, however, I disagree. Cross-server will keep the group finder moving. Let's say 7 people are looking for a group on server A. There are two tanks, one healer, and 4 DPS. One group is already formed, and the second just needs a healer. Meanwhile, on sever B, 7 more people are looking for a group. On this one, there are three healers, a tank, and three DPS. One group is formed here, one healer is taken by server A, and leftover is one DPS and one Healer, who are taken by... ...the first group to start on Server C. The ratios on every server are not going to be the same, even with transfers coming. There are 120-some servers, and some of them are going to have 2 healers just hanging out in the group finder for hours, or some where a tank just can't catch a break. Resources from those other servers can and SHOULD be pulled in to help groups form.
  19. The Cathar are supposedly a legacy species, according to the E3 video. idk what that means, but I doubt they'll be playable right off the bat. EDIT: What I meant is, even if you can change species, I don't think you'd be able to change to Cathar.
  20. Why do you feel like you have the right to keep something you aren't paying for?
  21. If you unsub, you are no longer paying Bioware. Logically, they should just be able to delete you, because all your characters are doing at that point is leaching server space. But no game does that, because if they did, no one would ever come back. Of course, if they deleted characters upon unsubbing, maybe more people would work with Bioware to fix problems instead of holding their subscription for ransom until the problem is fixed. If you unsub for WHATEVER reason, you should lose everything you have, including names. I'm unsubbed from WoW. I do not feel entitled regarding my names at all. They're no longer mine; I'm not paying to have them. A happy medium would be to allow people a three or four month grace period. Sure, you unsubbed. If you come back in a month or so, you can keep your names. If not, someone else who's paying to play can take it, and when you come back, your name will be SDGOAAWBXCZGE. I say this while holding the opinion that my server will likely be one of the 'destination' servers. If I stop paying, whether it be because I can no longer afford to play, or I want a break, or I'm trying to force Bioware to cater to me, I should have no right to my name anymore.
  22. When I signed up for character copy, there was no confirmation that I had submitted anything. It just went back to the 'sign up' page. Is that what everyone else got? I didn't want to try again and risk not getting copied over.
