  1. Just a random thought on the subject; I don't think the game developers need to know players input on data parses, or combat logs to make balance changes, when they have all the data they need right in front of them behind the scenes. I mean, sure.. player input can help a little, but... >.> My only real concern is this: people playing these classes getting constantly adjusted don't usually enjoy being on the nerf/buff roller coaster ride, so I hope they find some sort of "sweet spot" sooner, rather than later.
  2. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to agree with this. I hear a lot of people, despite all the usual social avenues available in the game, going on about it being a single player game and how it's so boring. The real reason has nothing at all to do with the game itself and everything to do with the lack of people using the tools allotted to them by the game developer, or even attempting to create a sense of community. It seems that there are too many folks who'd rather argue, or be trollish if they decide to interact with fellow players at all. The forums is a prime example of this. General chat is often another, on a busy server. One can lead the proverbial "horse to water, but you can't make it drink".
  3. I also think "easier leveling" factors into it. Classes like Inquisitor/Consular are pretty easy to level (So is Bounty Hunter, I hear). Not the same could be said for Smugglers/Imperial Agents though.
  4. I imagine a person can choose what to wear, or what not wear on their toon, so it's not much of an issue. More variety in styles accessible to ALL classes and armor types would be nice!
  5. Seriously. Where's some bare midriff for my Imperial Agent? Hook me up!
  6. I dislike the constant giggle spam. I'd prefer a better and more clearly visual way to see a proc occurring.
  7. I can confirm Sorcerer/Sage is pretty easy to level in comparison to other advanced classes. I suspect the same is true for Bounty Hunter, if for no other reason that - their first companion is a healer (though I've heard consistently that the gameplay for both Trooper and BH is pretty easy even without the healer). Oh, about the sorc changes - I didn't get the impression it will change much for DPS sorcerers, as the adjustments seem to be more directed at healers and perhaps hybrids.
  8. By charging exorbitant amounts of money for their content. I was frankly shocked how much my friend and I spent on buying enough "points" just to purchase race/class stuff in DDO. Then you look at how many "points" you need to buy dungeon content. Just... wow. It's expensive and makes 15 dollars a month subscription look cheap by comparison. They give you the option to grind it out in many of these games to get SOME of the content, but let me tell you - "tedious" is putting it mildly doing the grind in those games. The least grindy MMO's I played were subscription based, interestingly.
  9. F2P sucks. You really get what you pay for, or rather, you pay a lot more for what you get, if you want to actually enjoy any content. They will nickle and dime you to death and there is always going to be something more to pay for. I'd much rather pay a base rate and get it all, thanks.
  10. I had an issue seeing Force Lightning and holo-images during cut scenes when my anti-aliasing was turned on at "High" setting. I'm not sure if its related but it could be the graphics settings, or the graphics card not displaying right. I turned anti-aliasing off to fix my issue.
  11. Think I managed to get some screens finally. A couple of images of my sniper guy: http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/5963/zura1.jpg http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/6786/zura3.jpg
  12. I guess it matters whether you are Heal spec, DPS spec... generally I found that the DPS (as a sniper) I was doing was substantial enough - any contribution a DPS companion made was negligible in killing speed over all. (I could kill an entire group of mobs while they killed the one.) So then it became a choice of - "Do I want to muck about with regenerating my companions health all the time?" or, "Do I want to level without much delay between monster groups?" It was an easy choice then - I use Doctor Lokin for as little pause between groups as possible. The only reason I'd use any other companion with my DPS spec is merely because I like the companion and don't care about leveling efficiency. Another thing to note: Lokin can use all your gear hand-me-downs once you get an upgrade for a slot and don't need it anymore. I think Temple is the same, so it makes gearing these companions pretty easy.
  13. For Imperial Agents, from an RP perspective... morality should be irrelevant when they are commited to doing their jobs, imo. At least that's how I played mine and ended up neutral with a Dark leaning.
  14. As soon as I figure out how to find my screenshots, I might post some. Tried repeatedly to take screens in the past and I never find the screenshot folder with the images where they are "supposed" to be. Great looks though, people.
  15. My favorite class stories: Imperial Agent, Sith Warrior, and Jedi Knight. The rest I've played are kinda meh to me (Consular, Smuggler and Inquisitor). Didn't try Trooper or Bounty Hunter because the class and story didn't sound like it suits my tastes at all.
  16. I judge this one by playing both. In my experience, mobs die faster with my Marauder, than my DPS spec Juggernaut. This experience has been consistent throughout the levels.
  17. Yup. Least played on my server, and it's a very well populated server (usually reads "Heavy" population during peak hours). Sniper is especially unpopular. I did a "who" test for each spec on a number of occasions and got similar results every time during peak hours.
  18. I wish some of my companions would be GONE. Ahem. Did you try to relog? I think I had a similar issue and restarting the game/relogging fixed it.
  19. Keybinds are only "faster" if you remember them all and can press them (instead of an adjacent key) 100% of the time without loosing your place on the keyboard. I have really small hands (smaller than my 13 year old kid) that can't reach very far on my keyboard and I still have to periodically glance at the keys after all these years to even type a paragraph like this, or else I lose my "default" place and start hitting the wrong keys. (Surely people know how typos are born...?) So, rather than be concerned about learning to perform finger gymnastics "without looking" just to play; I found the most effective way for me is a combination of mouse clicking and keybinds (for the most used stuff). I've never found it to be much of a hindrance to my fun in any game I play, no matter what aspect of it I'm involved in.
