  1. Agree with you on the separation issue. If anything, this game needs more community building and less separation.
  2. Cool. Pyth is good dude that was always helpful to our guild. Liked the way he would PvP on either side depending on who needed people.
  3. You've got to be kidding... If anything, PvP rewards should only be cosmetic. Gear progression already gives people too much of an advantage.
  4. Why even play other classes? Check the leaderboards in almost every warzone if you want to laugh at imbalance. Imps know. They have at least 3-5 in every warzone. lol It's stupid.
  5. Warzone PvP - All of the warzones are fun. They are good maps with fun objectives. More of these warzones would be a great addition to the PvP in SWTOR. I look forward to the one on test center as well as future zones. I also hope for different versions of the ones we have like Huttball and Voidstar. Current Issues with PvP – I have no problem with players. There will always be the serious players with amazing PvP skill, and there will always be the casual players who are not so skilled, but play more for the fun (like me). What I do have issue with is the matching system or lack thereof. I also have issue with the gear gap caused by the 3 levels, and now it seems the 4th is on its way. Proposed Matching system - in regular warzones we have no real matching system. I think that there should be a matching system that puts the ranked players against similar ranked players, AND/OR use the expertise/gear level as a matching stat as well. Too many times do we get high ranked premades of 4 destroying newer/less geared level 50s. This only destroys fun. And for the serious pvper, I don’t think playing with the “bads,”as they are called, is fun for them either. I also don’t think they like facing “bads” as much as they have to. Personally, I don’t mind facing people better than me (which are a lot of people by the way. Lol), because I like the challenge, but I think we lose a lot of the fun factor for a lot of the casual players. We want people to love PvP and keep subscribing. So many guilds that are still around are shadows of their original selves because of the lack of the focus on keeping it fun. Proposed Gear Solution – All you have to do with this is keep it simple. Make the gear differences VERY slight. Make the reward for PvP more cosmetic after Warhero. Give the people who grind the comms more cosmetic rewards to show off their hard work instead of gear that gives them too much of an advantage. Gear should never be the Win factor in PvP. PvP should be the main factor. I think expertise would be the only stat that would need to be tweaked. STOP NERFING CLASSES – People work hard on their classes and never want to be nerfed. Instead buff up the classes and specs that need it. Certain classes need better survivability. Certain classes/specs need better mobility. Certain classes need a damage buff. Obviously if something is done that makes a certain class OP over all others, then they need to be fixed, but otherwise if you keep nerfing classes, you will just cause people to leave the game. World PvP – At the very least, we need an incentive to do this besides the obvious fun. We need this right away. RIGHT AWAY! So many guildies would be playing TOR if this was in game. I was in Outlaw’s Den the other day and I found 2 security chests with warzone comms in them. Why not make kill comms? If you kill other players that are level 50 (if you are 50 or below), or if you kill a non 50 within 5 levels of you (not being level 50 yourself) you should be rewarded these comms, and then use them to buy warzone comms (Gear), and cosmetic stuff only rewarded from kill comms that players can show off. Of course there can be daily quests that can be done too to reward even more comms. To avoid camping players or exploiting, kills won’t count on players that have too recently been killed by the same player. This should not just be done for the PvP zones. This should be ALL World and would help avoid clumping and overly laggy World PvP. These were just a few things that I think would improve the fun factor of the game. I have more, but this is mainly for the PvP part of the game. These tweaks would take no time at all and would improve the game 100% for a lot of people. I KNOW these changes would cause a lot of people to come back and subscribe. Also, don’t make your FTP so restrictive. You want them to be able to taste the game for free. Think like a drug dealer. Give them some really good free stuff, but give them time enough to get hooked. Then they will be more willing to pay for a regular fix.
  6. What's an Outlaw's Den? Did something happen there? <3 Groncho
  7. The only thing that could help Commando is better defenses. Something that would enable them to get off some of those cast specials. I would be doing a lot more damage if I wasn't dying so often. Without healers Commandos are doomed usually. And I wouldn't blame a healer, cause I play a Sage healer, if they avoided wasting heals on me to protect others that have better survivability.
  8. Disney is no longer a film company that just makes films for children. And the last thing they will do is kill their own name by ruining the Star Wars films. I predict that the films will take a darker turn and children will be continue to be entertained by the animated versions. All will be good. I hope they use some of the book stories as a frame of reference to be honest. There are some great stories out there that would translate great to film. They have made some good action movies based on Iron Man, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tron, etc. Should be an interesting marriage if anything. They should ask Peter Jackson to direct.
  9. I think that maybe stuns should be on a slightly longer cooldown or have a slightly shorter duration. Maybe this would force people to use them more strategically and less often. I think all of the CC has a place in the game, but maybe it is just a little overused as of now. Also, maybe other CC (not stuns) should add slightly to resolve as well. I am ok with the present system, but like most systems, there is always room for improvement.
  10. I preferred CU over Pre-CU and NGE. But liked NGE over Pre-CU. CU was cool mainly for the base wars. NGE was cool because the combat was faster. I've tried the SWG-Emu and it is so slow now compared to the NGE. I like TOR's combat system, but wish there was more World PvP. What was your name in BKSN btw?

    Merc is TERRIBLE

Commando/Merc, I agree, needs much better survivability. I will admit I haven't been playing in Ranked Warzones because only about 4 at the most ever sign on in my guild at once. And joining PUG Ranked WZ's is worse than PUG regular most of the time. I wouldn't say Commando/Merc is terrible, but I would say their survivability is less than the other classes. We do depend more on healers and that would take away more heals from classes that can stay up longer and do the same if not more damage. I will also say that MOST of the time, it is the fault of the player and less about the class. Commando/Merc definitely needs some love, but overall it isn't as terrible as a lot of people play it.
  12. I had a feeling since you knew about it.
  13. I agree. The only dev who chimed in for discussion about PvP mechanics was Georg Zoeller and he basically just told us how it was and how it wasn't up for any discussion. And even he is gone....so Be nice to hear from today's devs.
  14. There was a time when we would see more developer involvement in PvP discussions. Beyond metrics when the devs get involved they might get a better sense of what the player base is feeling about the game and PvP. I DO know there is a huge number of people, subbed and unsubbed, waiting with baited breath about a new World PvP system. I think this subject needs open discussion about what the player base might want, and what ideas the Devs might be working with now. Please engage us more. You will only create a more loyal player base this way, a better PvP game, and certainly more subs than you have now.
  15. Yeah we have a root with our Stock Strike, but our KB snare is useless against classes that can jump right back to us. Personally, I would trade the snare in KB, with the root in Stock Strike. The reason being, in order to keep melee off me, after I KB, I also have to use my stun, or my mezz if I don't hit them, to keep them there. We also have a snare in our full-auto if you put points into that. I mainly use that in WZ's like Voidstar and Huttball to slow them down. Putting the root in KB and the snare in Stock Strike would suit me better, but I work with what I have,

    Merc is TERRIBLE

My only assumption is that you don't like that class. I have played the other classes too. I like Commando because it fits me and my play style. I think it is good for its role. It is not good for 1 v 1 and for me that is a challenge. But I am not a dueler or solo player. For me the team aspect is what makes PvP fun.

No I am not agreeing with you. If you know your role and know how to play it, then you do fine. If you don't, then Commando/Merc is not for you. Maybe a one-time AC switch should be made available to you at level 50 or at least as a Legacy perk. Just because you don't like the class or play it poorly, does not mean others experience the same thing. Sure it might need some tweaks, but it isn't TERRIBLE overall.

Also, only use your casting specials when you have the space and time to use them. If you rely on them too much, you will just get stunned, interrupted, etc. repeatedly. No need to stack tracer missle or grav round. Get what you can off on someone, but use your instant casts more. Spam your regular shot while moving, it actually does more damage than you think. And don't waste specials on people with bubbles on them. Just my thoughts. I am sure many know better than I, but I think with those basic approaches you can do better with your class. There is always a way to do better at your class no matter what it is. Or you could just play FOTM classes like a lot of the haters on here.

I agree with this. On a good team, Commando (Merc mirror) does very well. I am usually among the top DPS in the stats list. Commando is more of a team DPS class. Commando is not as good in a 1 v 1 fight. And if you are trying to play it as a 1 v 1 class, that is where you fail. If healers keep commandos alive, they can be very dangerous.
  21. Hey! I was on Chilly from 2007 - 2011. Many others here as well.
  22. Bioware wants subs/f2p players to increase? Implement this and you will get the World PvPers back and keep the ones you have.
  23. 1. How do you think your Commando spec is perceived by other classes? I play the Gunnery spec and I think my spec is perceived as an easy kill in PvP, but can do some heavy damage if left alone to cast it's hard hitting specials. In PvE, I believe everything is fine. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? I feel the same way. In PvP, I can hurt people if left alone, but can be shut down and killed easily with interrupts and stuns. Gunnery needs some kind of escape like the other DPS classes have. Knockback should have a root to keep melee from leaping right back to you after being knockedback or an interrupt /stun immunity special like some other classes have.
  24. I'm on Port Nowhere and I hope all East Coast PvP servers are going to Fatman. My reasoning is that many of the people that played on Fatman before Free Transfers were people from other servers leveling up toons there because their original servers were slow. So a lot of the people that will be transferring there were already there on their alts.
