  1. In my humble opinion, there are certain things that this game needs to survive, retain and build its player base. Most of what I am about to say is being developed and on the way, but it will be key as to how things are introduced as well as when. 1.) Server Transfers – Server transfers are coming and very soon and should be done first before anything else. More subscriptions are being cancelled due to players being bored on dead servers every day. How this is done is important as well. In my opinion, all of the servers that reach standard levels of population should be listed as destination servers from the low population servers. This gives people a choice of where to move to until Super Servers happen. Obviously, this should be free. 2.) Rated Warzones – PvPers really want this and have been waiting for it for months. This alone will be effective in retaining players and bringing PvPers back. It will ONLY be effective if players can play on populated servers. I also believe that they should be released ASAP even with some bugs as long as they are fun. So I disagree with including them in 1.3 but leaving them disabled. Bugs can be worked out within the Pre-Season of Rated Warzones, and once they are, start the regular season and make them cross-server. 3.) 1.3 - Release it with minimal bugs and with strong promotion and please include Rated Warzones that are enabled. 4.) Server Specific Forums – To build community and have a place to chat about server issues, plan raids, plan events, taunt the enemy, all so it makes it feel like you are on a server that feels like a home. 5.) New PvE Endgame content - Now this means many things to me. A new Raid, some new flashpoints that are relatively bug free, the ability to scale certain lower level instanced heroics to level 50 to do them again (not sure, but this should be possible.), more daily quest options, and Nightmare Mode for Raids/Flashpoints. I will add that all of this doesn’t have to be done right away, but some of it added a bit at a time reasonably soon would be nice. Any expansions should be held off until these things are added. 6.) World PvP – SWTOR lost a lot of players to the bad implementation of this. So, they need to come up with a system that makes this fun and engaging. Some sort of system where factions can fight over areas, bragging rights, bases, key strategic places would be fun. It would also be fun if this was spread over a few planets instead of just Ilum to spread things out a bit and give certain guilds/groups areas to call their turf. Rewards for World PvP should be separate from Ranked Warzone/Regular Warzone rewards. So individuals would get titles, maybe random shinies, and comms from achieving World PvP battle wins/kills/holding areas from the other factions. Make the comms usable for purchasing bragging items for individual players or guilds like speeders, pets, ship gear, housing, Guild Bases and Guild Capital Ships (I also believe that achievements in PvE Raids should give tokens towards PvE versions of these rewards). In this area I know many have plenty of ideas so I would love to hear them. Again, all of this can be implemented a little at a time. First and foremost, we need a reward system for World PvP and very soon. (Gabe Amatangelo said this was coming first for World PvP and I think this is a smart move.) 7.) Live Events - the Rakghoul event was great. It gave people something to achieve as well as an area to fight over. It was good PvE content as well as a great excuse for World PvP. Very well done and these should continue as much as possible. 8.) Free to Play - AFTER the transfers/addition of Super Servers, Rated Warzones, 1.3, and some additional endgame PvE and World PvP content is added, they should do, AT LEAST, a 1 month “free to play” promotion to bring people back to SWTOR, and I mean promote it HEAVILY. This will give people incentive to check out the new stuff while playing on populated servers. I predict if all done well, we would see a lot of people return as well as more new subscribers. Well all of this is my opinion, but I think it is what this game needs to recover and do well. I would love for people to build on these ideas as well as introduce some of their own. Another idea for the forums is to have a specific forum for people to register complaints so as they don’t clog up the rest of the forums with tired negative posts that accomplish nothing. Just like you have a suggestion box there should also be a complaint box that moderators can move threads to that are complaints. It is hard to avoid negativity on the internet, but it would be nice to have a place where it could all go. Thanks for reading everyone! And I know TL;DR but it's your loss
  2. Recruit gear can be tough to PvP in. But you do have to earn your stripes in an MMO. Progression is tough and lots of players have been doing warzones for months acquiring the better gear. So you have to do the work to improve your gear and compete. Even losses now reward you with comms and give you credit towards your daily, so it is even easier to get battlemaster gear. It really isn't as bad as you think. You are probably facing a lot of people with almost full War Hero gear. You shouldn't be able to match evenly with them because they have done the work to get it.
  3. I agree that it should be a choice. If you want to risk your rating by joining PUGS for rated warzones that is your choice, and if you only want to Q for Rated Warzones in an 8 man premade, that should be your choice too. After pre-season and working out the kinks of the system, they should allow cross server Q'ing for Ranked Warzones. And make it premade vs. premade or PUG vs PUG that match up for a Q, or nothing at all. Never have it be premade vs. PUG. And keep regular Warzones available for people who want to PvP in PUGS or groups of 4 like it is now to fill time and acquire gear, but keep 8-man premades out of these. For all WZ's after the move to Super Servers, don't have the Q pop unless the groups are filled on both sides.
  4. Is this your plan for release? 1.) Free transfers to Super Servers, then 2.) Release of 1.3 including the addition of Ranked Warzones. 3.) introduction of a new World PvP system (a couple months? 6 months? a year?) Some kind of ETA would make a lot of players happy. And one suggestion would be to make fun PvP areas on multiple planets to mix things up and keep it interesting. Also, once we are in Super Servers, will you have server specific forums? It would help to build community as well.
  5. They have shards in place already to alleviate lag and overcrowding. This is the only way they can do these super servers. I am all for it. I would rather have a little lag than an empty server.
  6. Battles and their variations. Sure you might be out-numbered one night, but you also can win out-numbered if your strategy is better than your enemy. You can run into 1 v 1's, 2 v2's, 2 v 1's, 1 v 2's, 40 v 50, etc. It VARIES. Unlike WZ's which get stale and repetitive. Nothing like steamrolling the enemy faction that had more numbers than you or winning relatively even battles too. Also, it can happen that you are winning and all of the sudden you get flanked by a different group and get flattened. I just love the variations of things that can happen.
  7. No doubt Pistols. I just disagree with the ones who want to be competitive right out of the box, which 10-49 WZ's really kind of provide as you can level with PvP. Gear definitely is not the only thing that will keep people around obviously. Without an engaging, meaningful World PvP system, which I know you enjoy as do I and many of our friends, and the team competition of Ranked Warzones, as well as server specific forums, the PvP community will get smaller and smaller as they move on to other games that satisfy their needs.
  8. I agree. FPS online games should be "just get in there and start PvPing." MMO's are usually progression themed to keep the interest, compare/share gear ideas with friends, gear status showing off how far you've progressed in the game. I believe most of the people who complain about any kind of grind are people with short attention spans that go from game to game anyway no matter what a developer does. I also believe that gear should only give a slight edge. As it is now, the edge seems a little bit much. Of course that can vary class to class, spec to spec, and player to player.
  9. Seriously though. Warzones should not begin unless there are 8 people in Q per side. Otherwise you are just giving the win to the side with more people. No way to cover the objectives without the full group. FIX THIS PLEASE!
  10. Averaging less than 200k damage in every warzone as a DPS Gunnery commando. My survivability is next to nill unless guarded and healed a lot. My shield is crap. Knockbacks work, but if it is a Powertech or Assasin they can just pull me to them right away or a Warrior can just jump to me right away. Was averaging 200 -300k before 1.2 and this is mainly because I could stay up longer just like everyone else. Something is amiss. I blame expertise ratios.
  11. 1.) This one was stated with the fact that I was being focused by at least 2 melee ( and stunned) and possibly others, BUT that used to happen before and it would take a little more time and I would have a way to adjust my or their position and possibly survive. Also, it seems less people are playing healers and guards because they feel their healing or support got nerfed too much. So that is a factor too. I am adjusting the best way I can, but dying faster is harder on classes/builds that depend more on casting abilities, especially when you throw less healing/guarding and a few stuns interrupts in there.
  12. Fixed...although it is the Sith Empire
  13. 1.) Tweak damage down a tad in relation to mitigation. Either that or give us more Endurance. (Ex. I have up to 1.5 to 2 sec cast times on most of my commando abiliites. So dying in 2 seconds makes it hard to accomplish much.) 2.) Rated Warzones 3.) Fun Open World PvP. R v R areas. 4.) Allow character server transfers and maybe merge some of the lower pop servers to create servers that are more fun to play/PvP on. 5.) A reward system to encourage players to participate in Open World PvP. 6.) Give people a reason to want to play Republic vs. Empire. Thanks for listening!! If you did all of these things well, you would see a lot of people return and wanting to give you their money.
  14. I feel a compromise between pre 1.2 and post 1.2 is needed. It is too fast right now, but a minor tweak to reduce damage would be better. Ranged classes can be burned down a bit too fast as it is now. Playing a Gunnery commando, I can barely get my casting abilities off before I am dead at times. For melee I am sure this is a dream come true.
  15. Server consolidation needs to happen. They opened more servers for all the people at launch, but now they need to consolidate to make up for all the people who left.
  16. Warzone kills counting towards dailies is bad for World PvP. Bioware is so creative in so many ways, I don't get how they can't seem to be creative with World PvP. 1.) Make the zone handle mass PvP. 2.) Make the Ilum zone actually mean something to a faction. 3.) Reward PvP in NON-Ilum areas. 4.) Make controlling other planet areas mean something. 5.) Reward tokens for PvP gear instead of this daily bag system. 6.) Tokens/valor bonuses can be rewarded to groups/players for controlling opposition areas as well as kills. 7.) DO SOMETHING! Jeeezus! Losing faith, Dalevan

    PvP wish list

I agree with making CC less abundant or have CC cause more resolve or have stuns just fill the bar. Long stuns should definitely fill the bar. The game shouldn't be STUN WARS. It should be more about fighting or at least being able to fight.

1.) Fix Ilum: Maybe introduce a faction cap for each instance of Ilum so faction balance is less of a problem. Or make it so the bases are fortified with killable (high hitpoints) nasty turrets and a lot harder to camp. 2.) Huttball: No class should be able to Sprint, leap to enemy, jump to friendly, with the ball and all classes should take the same damage from obstacles with or without shields. 3.) Fix the bug that allows people to overload WZ's. 4.) Make all healing trees equally as good. 5.) Make World PvP actually worth something besides a gear grind. 6.) High damage specials shouldn't be spammable, and if they are, make them cost more so they are harder to spam.
  19. MMO's have this wacky ability to be tweaked. When your class/huttball is tweaked to make a little bit of sense, you probably actually will be sorry. lol Until then, enjoy making boss threads like this.
  20. In a competitive Warzone or World PvP, as a Commando, I cannot sit there and spam Grav round. You have to be selective as to when you can fire them because if an IO or melee class catches you sitting still, you are usually going to die. MOST of the time in a competitive warzone or even World PvP, I have to use the shots I can fire on the move. If you are dying to a Grav round/tracer missile spammer, then you should learn to LOS, interrupt, stun, etc. The only nerf I would want is in Huttball. No class should be able to leap or sprint with the ball. All hazards should ignore shields/sprints and defense/armor. Because right now, the side with the most Sages/Sorcs or even any type of force user for that matter, wins the game.
  21. At some point in an MMO, you are responsible for creating your own fun. The developers can only lead you around so much. Create your fun. This game is a baby. Give it a chance to grow and develop. Otherwise take a break and play the game that suits you.
  22. Please enact a faction player limit instead of a player limit per instance on Ilum. Total player limits make the imbalance worse. Faction number limits allow for more balance. If the total player limit is 100, and the imperials have 75, Ilum will only let in 25 republic. If it is done by faction, and each side has a limit of 50, then 50 Republic can get it in if 50 Imperials are in. Also, the bases need to be harder to attack and capture on both sides to prevent camping. Thank you for your time.
  23. It may have been Bioware's mistake. But to think for one moment that anyone actually earned that extra Valor would be a joke in most reasonable people's eyes. For all the babies that are quitting, good riddance.
  24. Thanks Bioware! And btw, please lose the player location spam on Ilum too. That's just unnecessary. Talk about letting the other faction know where to camp! Plus it can't be helping the lag situation. And the ops group bug (where the leader is spammed with the message that his companion had to be stored) REALLY blows! OPS groups are lag groups atm as well. Don't know if that bug is a part of it or not.
