  1. Yeah, it's totally not fair that I can see that guy so far away while I'm defending a door. I'm going to stand by the door all game, no matter what happens. Me seeing him so far away isn't going to change the fact that the point of the game is for me to stand by the door, so obviously I'm going to be smart about it and stand by the door. But it's not fair that I can see the guy even though it will not change the fact that I have to defend a door and need to stay by it.
  2. So if I use marks to teach my lesser skilled teammates which targets they should be picking, they're doing what you yourself have just said they "should" do. I'm teaching a man to fish, I'm not just giving him the fish. And what you're asking for will make it easier for you, essentially lowering the skill cap required for you to be successful. So in fact you're asking for the game to be made easier for you, at the expense of others. Maybe it's time you put in a little effort, and asked your team mates to help you out and protect you.
  3. By playing more WZs then me. You know, sort of like how the people ahead of you played more WZs then you did.
  4. Negative. You're using the wrong attacks. Stick to TECH and FORCE, neither is affected by armor and defense.
  5. Well you're the one who says they suck. So you really shouldn't be afraid of dieing to them. I'm saying they do indeed NEED the markers because it does indeed HELP them play better as a team. Considering how many threads are out there complaining about premades, it's sad that someone is trying to take away one of the tools that puts a PUG on a more equal footing with a premade.
  6. Wait what? So if I mark targets for my lesser skilled team mates, it's a bad thing? The fact that I'm helping them play better and be more successful, is bad? When some of my team mates fail to understand the basic objectives of a game, it's pretty clear they need to be lead and NEED markers above targets. Oh right, it's only bad if it makes you (my opponent) lose. How is you having to deal with a greater challenge lowering the level of play? You have to work harder as a healer and your team mates have to work to protect you... how is that a lower level of play again?
  7. Oh, you mean the marker their own OPS leader placed above their head, but then their team mates ignored? So when 3 guys where trying to kill the healer, their team mates completely ignored the healer because they where to busy tunneling some other target?
  8. Still doesn't change the fact that you've contradicted yourself. You've essentially shown that Operatives already do tons of damage, in a thread in which you're complaining they don't do enough. Thanks again for showing Operatives are fine.
  9. We all understand you don't like dieing to the enemy team, it's clear enough by now. Dieing to enemy players is a normal part of PvP. If you don't like dieing to other players, perhaps PvP is not for you. Taken from dictionary.com co·or·di·na·tion    [koh-awr-dn-ey-shuhn] Show IPA noun 1. the act or state of coordinating or of being coordinated. 2. proper order or relationship. 3. harmonious combination or interaction, as of functions or parts. To put a mark on an enemy player, regardless of class, does indeed facilitate the coordination necessary to kill a particular target. The ones that benefit most from these markers are pug groups, as they lack coordination via 3rd party software such as vent, and are essentially relying on the game software as is. So you're trying to gimp disorganized pugs that NEED this game feature, while the organized premades won't lose any sleep over this. Dieing is part of PvP, regardless of how FUN or not FUN it might be for you. I have FUN killing enemy players, but I know that to have this FUN, I must risk dieing myself.
  10. Wait what? You did over 400k damage in a WZ, more then anyone else there, and you're complaining about not doing enough damage? What more can you ask for? The ability to one shot people? Really? ROFL
  11. 7. Everyone, regardless of class should understand they'll die in WZs. To act incensed about it is plain silly.
  12. 1. You can mark enemy healers 2. You can mark friendly healers so team mates can keep them alive 3. This is a team game, if the enemy team is working as a team and killing healers as a group, can't really blame them for good teamwork. You can blame your own team for a lack of teamwork though. 4. Seeing someone far away with a raid marker is a moot point for some maps like Voidstar and Huttball on account of their objectives. If you're not near the doors/ball, you're already doing it wrong. I can see this as being somewhat of an issue in Alderan if the ENTIRE enemy team was marked. 5. Healers can be marked as targets, so can DPS. If you're a healer and keep dieing to a particular player, maybe it's time you mark them so your team can kill them for you. 6. This is a team game. From the sounds of things the OP doesn't like the fact that her opponents worked together as a team and beat her with better teamwork.

    Powertechs

I LOL every time I see your sig, you call people using valid strategies "exploiters". Rail shot and Rocket Punch don't do anywhere close to that much damage.

    Powertechs

    1. Learn to recognize a Powertech/Vanguard 2. Pay attention to your surroundings, and work on your positioning in relation to other players (this can help with other things as well like knockbacks) 3. Make sure you aren't within 30m of a Powertech that is positioned to pull you into a hazard 4. Make sure your CC breaker is on an easy to reach hotkey, so if you feel you need to live because you're holding the ball you can do so
  15. Ok, turn off attack animations as well then. Why should one spec get preferential treatment?
  16. Invest more time then the people ahead of you. Otherwise man up and quite your whining.
  17. Negative. I play an Operative, pretty much stick to PvP almost exclusively, and I don't feel like my damage output is an issue at this point in time. Only issue I see with the class in WZs is the lack of dash/push/pull/leap, as the lack of these gimps us compared to other classes in Huttball.
  18. I play an Operative, got to BM almost exclusively via WZs. Why should a Republic player have to spend less time in WZ to get BM? This is a moot point as Valor gains will soon be getting increased anyways. It's in the next patch. /thread
  19. No they didn't. How do you expect them to force people into rolling Republic? The gear disparity will be fine for ranked WZ, those who invested the most time will benefit from their time investment most. How is it unfair that some people invested more of their time then others? Oh right, it's not. To reward people for choosing one side over the other, that's what would be unfair.
  20. You make no sense. If she can't live for 10 seconds and she's not getting focused, then she's plain terrible. If she's complaining about having to have tons of PvP gear, it's obviously because she IS getting focused. You don't need a premade to protect you. Just like pugs need marks to mark targets, pugs need marks to know who to protect. What I'm saying is the tools people use to kill her, can be used to protect her. Pugs can be fun, they just need to be told what to do. If fail to ask the tanks in your pug to guard you, you only have yourself to blame.
  21. Why are we here? The OP got focused and died. What did the OP blame for getting focused? A mark above her head. Could better team mates have helped to have kept her alive? Yes. Could the OP use marks to help herself out by making it easier for her team mates to know they should keep her alive by placing a marker on her own head? Yes. Who should the OP really be blaming for the fact that she died? Her team. Should anyone expect to live in a 1v8? Nope.
  22. Good positioning and being aware of your surroundings, you know things like acid and fire, is the best way to counter pulls. Pulls counter knockbacks, leaps and movement speed buffs. Pulls are pretty much the ONLY way to kill the ball carrier when facing good premades.
  23. People on my team are the enemy when they're not playing as a team. If the healer is instantly blowing up, it's not just because they're getting focused, it's because they're not getting help from their team. Putting a mark on your own head as a healer, will do the same thing for your team that it's doing for the other team. IT'S LETTING YOUR TEAM KNOW YOU'RE A HEALER AND THEY SHOULD KEEP YOU ALIVE. If you're instantly dieing to enemy dps, gear up and get your team to help you.
  24. The enemy team can put a marker on your head. Your team can ALSO put a marker on your head. So you could ask a tank to put guard on you, and he'd have a marker to see so you wouldn't be too far away from him. In fact, you could as for a marker to be put on the tank as well, so you don't get too far from the tank and know where he is. You could also use chat and ask your team mates to protect you. Did you know tanks can taunt in PvP, debuffing a target's damage for a short period of time? Did you know a tank's guard will transfer half of incoming damage to you, to the tank instead? Did you know this is a team game? You might be there to keep your team alive, but they're there to keep you alive as well.
