  1. For sure I didn't factor in the price with my response. If credits are an issue, don't buy 246 stuff. Buying 240 stuff is kinda useless too, you can just run HM KP/EV and get 242 tokens. Leveling CXP is now pretty easy and a good way to get components to upgrade 242 to 248 (even faster if you PVP). IMO it's a lot faster to do this than to try and farm heroics for money.
  2. One day my raid lead asked my co-healer how healing with me was. Can't remember the exact words but it was something around "It's acceptable for now". Thus was born my toon "Acceptable heals", and eventually "Acceptable Player", which I kinda like the sound of. It occasionally makes people laugh when I join groups so there's that.
  3. Answer depends on your role. DPS: 240/242 is enough for most bosses if you are extremely good at your role. Might still be an issue on some apex bosses that require top of the line DPS. If you are asking this question then I guess you aren't the most experienced player (I might be wrong) and as a DPS, I wouldn't recommend anything under 242 armoring with 246 mods with the old purple augments. Healer: 240/242 gear is enough for every healing check in this game.Yes more gear will allow to maybe cover more mistakes done by teammates, but this tier is not very demanding on healers, and gear doesn't affect healing as much as it does DPS. Tank: Considering most tanks run power b mods in mm ops, gear isn't that much a factor. I'm pretty sure you can get enough hp/defense/shield/absorb with 240/242 gear for MM ops, but having better gear will allow you to get more DPS and HP, and that makes bosses easier. TLDR: 240/242 is a bit low for MM ops for DPS. It is enough for healers and tank.
  4. "Forcing" group content is what made me discover group content, then fall in love with it, and the social aspect of it is the only reason I still play this game. This has been the experience of quite a few people I know. "Forcing" group content is a good thing in MMOs. I agree that the Iokath operation mission should be abandonable (like every other op mission) for people that tried group content and didn't like it, and have some kind of OCD that prevents them from just ignoring that one mission you can untrack and kinda forget about, but it is ok (and a good thing) to have operations and flashpoints tie into the story.
  5. While I agree the season is too long, you should tone down your forum screaming a bit. It's been a while since anyone on here took stuff you say seriously considering the amount of weird you posted. Let me prove my point by taking two of your random quotes:
  6. Is there really a debate on whether hacks exist in this game or not? Lmao Position hacks have existed for years now, people glitching themselves outside of maps (I see it especially in ranked arenas) to automatically win. Anyone denying it because "they never saw it" is retarded. A thing that is true though, is a lot of people claim "HACKER OMG OMG OMG!!!!" just because they get outplayed or they don't know about game mechanics. A lot more than half of the hack claims are ******** (I got accused of using speed hacks, aka predation, or chain CC breaking, aka being white barred when they try and stun me).
  7. In a game sense, it's to balance out stuff. Every DPS needs 10% extra accuracy in order to never miss. In a lore sense, I can kinda agree, but if you look at, let's say, the consular. If you want to throw rocks at people, you need some chunk of accuracy. I guess the same could apply for lightning (if you ever played the old Battlefront II, you know you needed to aim your lightning, even though it was easier than a gun, in order to hit enemies and not allies).
  8. I really don't think you're in the minority. A lot more than 50% of the public enjoyed it, but some hardcore SW fans are very vocal. I pretty much agree with your whole post, apart from the Yoda thing (see the post before mine) and one of your flaws. I really didn't like the Leia scene, and the hyperspace jump and Phasma were flaws as you pointed out. What I don't get is the general hate for Kylo Ren (not only yours). He is a very good villain in my opinion. He feels much more real than the classic super villains that want to kill everyone for no apparent reason, and never seem to doubt themselves. You can understand how he works and see his struggles. I know this is controversial but whatever, I think he's a good character (along with Rey and Finn, I like this new trio).
  9. Even though the content is the same, the style is different so my money is on no. @OP They are not, you just have to learn to deal with them. Yes they are very good at stalling and 1v1 (probably the best class at it), but they have huge weaknesses: arguably the easiest class the burst down in 1 hard stun and their damage is not that good in most situations. Everyone at some point has been terrorized in PVP by a very good operatives. You just have to learn how to counter them.
  10. Yes, even though it's not as OP as it was, they are still very popular in HM/NiM. Kinda true but also not at all. Your numbers seem slightly off. Also in an actual raid encounter, carnage is still in a decent place. It also performs pretty good in PVP if your group has some kind of cohesion. https://imgur.com/gallery/9nohQh4
  11. I thought your joke was funny too. Tbh I didn't read past Grim's first paragraph, he always writes posts so big that could often be said in 5-10 lines (and that huge answer to Syroman's post was absurd, and even though once again I didn't read it all, I didn't see ruthless agressor in the DCD list and all of it really started badly with "what do heals have to do with DCDs"). Anyway people complaining about other DPS classes having heals or taunt/guard are getting old (and have been for a few years now). Even though guard might be op in PVP (is it really? I'll let more avid PVPers than myself discuss that), it's a good thing different classes have different strengths. Classes are what makes this game fun. On another note, the only two classes that don't have heals (outside of utilities) or guard are snipers/slingers and maras/sents, and they both are in a very good place both in PVP and PVE (top 3 DPS classes in both cases). So in the words of best poet in the galaxy, Dread Master Raptus: Noobness is a prison, let skill release you
  12. WOW... Did anyone point out how stupid this sentence is? I'm all for using hyperbole and stuff, but "true suffering"? Really? From what I read here, you are still an "ungrateful spoiled brat" if the fact that you didn't like a movie, which is made for general entertainment, makes you truly suffer. Not liking, or even hating the movie is one thing. It can make you sad, but, once again, "true suffering"? Being a big fan of a universe is fun, but sounds like you're taking all this way too seriously. PS: "true suffering" lmao
  13. It was a wild guess lol. Well I have never heard of the issue. Is it still happening? Maybe upload a combat log? Kinda hard to help you without it
  14. From this sentence it kinda looks like you're confusing railshot with shoulder canon. I might be wrong, but the wording "unlaod my rail shots one by one" kinda sounds more like shoulder canon. That would explain, since it's a confusion of ability names...
  15. On that note, look at any other class subforum. It's about the same everywhere. It's not a sorc issue, it's a game issue. Community is not as big as it was...
  16. This thread is sad and retarded. I really hope it doesn't prevent new players from playing sorcs. Are sorc DPS is a great place DPS wise? Not really. Are they 15% behind everyone else? Not at all. I know this is a year old thread but by bumping it yourself you kinda make it as if it was still relevant (not that it ever really was, but yeah there was a time where sorc DPS was lower comparatively, but then everything got nerfed...) I see a few people on forums saying they can't get into groups because they DPS on a sorc. This is bullsh*t. Most of the time you guys are talking about story mode, in which class balance it not relevant at all, because the DPS checks could be done with a group of 6 tanks 2 healers. 95% of the people that run story modes don't play their class optimally at all, which is ok, that's what SM is for. I have never seen anyone refused a group spot because of class. It may have happened to you, but it's probably not because for your class and for other reasons. I mean a lvl 55 sorc in 198 gear rating can do the SM DPS checks and survive cause of bolster. If this is about harder content (HM/NiM), then it's a L2P issue. Is playing a sorc in NiM slightly harder than, let's say a sniper? Yes. Do you have to be the best sorc in the world to pull your weight? No. Yes madness could use a small buff to get closer to merc IO and viru sniper, but in no way this class is unable to compete.
  17. I agree some of the achievements are dumb. You need some special kind of match/retarded opposition to get 10 solo kills even if you are the best player to have ever played the game. I'd be curious to meet anyone who got the 10 solo kills for - is it 20 matches to get all the cheevos? - in all the warzones without using any kind of pre-planned strategy that goes against the spirit of PVP (multiboxing, farming friends/guildies). Even the 55 kills and 20 killing blows ones can be pretty rare now with all the healers and DCDs, and people used to farm them in lowbies, which don,t pop all that much anymore. Still, even though I think they are a bit overtuned, I don't really mind them, it's just the 10 solo kills that is really out of place.
  18. I might just be projecting too much lol. Maybe most players don't interrupt that much. I just know that when I play a mara or something else with a low interrupt CD, I find shutting down mando/merc healers to be very easy if they don't have interrupt immunity. Them running around doesn't change anything, they are slower than me (predation and crippling too stronk). On another note, use your net on annoying melee (or to help your team securing an important kill, but that requires more awareness), best way to shut them down and I see a bunch of healers that seem allergic to using anything that isn't green. Yeah decently balanced voidstars are the best kind of matches. Also glad to see you're enjoying yourself and testing stuff, it's what warzones are for, you kinda make me want to test the butt-charge again...
  19. Yeah it's quite good too. For me though, this new one is only second too: "I deal less then 3K FAST and ALOT" (talking about DPS output, the whole comment makes it better, but as a small quote it's still pretty good).
  20. Yes Wow. So because I have an opinion which is different to yours I don't know how to play mando... I have no idea how you can keep up good APM if you never use basic heal. Advising people to not use it is wrong. You run out of energy so quickly. Also good players don't need green beam to know you're a healer, you'l just get marked and at this point beam or no beam you will be spotted. Bad players might not notice, but let's be fair, if they can't notice you're casting green abilities, the DPS they do on you most likely won't be an issue... While I understand your point, I still prefer the other way round (I knew I'd get heat for that lol). Sticking to my logic that bad players will be bad and don't matter that much, you need to be able to react to good players. Good players interrupt a lot. You can't outrun a good melee DPS, and they won't even be phased by you running around. Also with the amount of roots there are in this game, when I'm on a merc/mando, I sometimes prefer face tanking a bit with cooldowns, and then use pushbacks/stuns/rocket out (propulsion)/Hydraulics(HtL). Progressive on the move helps LoSing range, but to be honest progressive isn't used all that much (like twice every 45s to apply buff to as many people as possible). The mobility difference between taking it and not taking it is not that big. Since I can use bomb, basic heal, insta heal + proc and power surge to heal while moving, I think I have a good balance of movement. With good positioning, that is enough. Progressive in not that great a single target heal and should never be used as a survival tool; you are better off casting a few heals than running around. These are all arguments on paper though, and what holds true or not on the field is different for everyone. Using your 8s interrupt immunity optimally can be hard (ish), and it might not help at all someone who doesn't know how to use it, while extra mobility helps everyone. I shared what I thought was optimal in stressful healing situations. Is it optimal for every situation? No. But from playing around with both utilities, I found that I preferred the interrupt + more healing received and HP more often than the other way round, and that's what it comes down too. Try both, and go for whatever you want. Change it around when you feel like it, it's what utilities are for. Wannabe Op healers?
  21. Gear wise what Vissionary said is good. As for tricks for numbers, it's kinda weird cause PVP is very situational. Let's say you are in a classic battle for south in novare, and the other team has a lot of DPS, then numbers will be high. If you are fighting a 2v2 for a node, or you have to run around a lot (like in odessen) then numbers will be low. In a high pressure healing context, it's also hard to give recommendations as we don't know what you do right now. Here are a few things (that you might or might not know): - Keeping trauma probes/shells on everyone is necessary if damage is spread. Keeping good track of the stacks is hard, but will make your numbers go up if you refresh everytime someone has 0-1 stack left. - Getting your ten stacks quickly is key, as it allows your healing output to go up for a short time. - Low APM is something I notice a lot with mando/merc healers. Be sure to chain your abilities by using your action queue so you don't waste 0.1s or more in between every ability. - Use kolto shot after most big heals to keep energy in check. Always stay in high energy regen zone unless you have a CD to get you back in a good position. - Kolto bomb on CD if 3-4 people are getting hit and are close together. - Progressive scan (casted AOE heal, not sure of the repside name) is good but has very high energy requirements. Use it carefully. - Utility wise you have a lot to choose from. I personally find that (in legendary) the interrupt immunity + 3% more healing received can be more useful than progressive scan on the move. In heroic, even though trauma regulators (shield heal) is a go to for a lot of people, I find that being immune to interrupts is sometimes a lot better (that along with shield CD reduce). In a situation where you are getting hit a lot, you have a very high uptime with shield, and when you have shield up you receive 20% more healing and can't be interrupted. For the lower tiers I think everyone agrees on the 5% DR, improved vent heat and getting energy back when knocked or stunned. The last one can be pyro shield or reduce your stun breaker cooldown, which can be pretty good.
  22. Since the nerfed cross mechanic UL is a lot easier in pugs. Master/Blaster still has weird tuning. The healing required in the second phase isn't close to anything in another SM. Master hits too hard, and blaster keeps on hitting decently hard. Every healer that hasn't seen HMs (apart form EV and KP, where healing is still kind of a joke) isn't ready for the pressure that comes with phase 2. The same case can kinda be made in HM, where Master hits harder than pretty much any HM boss. Not really a complaint though, just weird tuning.
  23. This thread is funny and sad at the same time. If Kodrac is indeed right (which looks very likely), someone here should take the game and these forums a lot less seriously. Drama posts attract trolls. Lots of discussions with either account of the OP (once again, assuming Kodrac is right) have a tendency to turn way too personnel, serious and not at all what the game is supposed to be about. It is kinda unhealthy. @OP, you should stay away from forums, the game is very enjoyable without them, and you seem to strongly indicate you don't like them. Just keeping your eyes on the Dev Tracker is more than enough to not miss anything important.
