  1. folks, this is NOT a client side issue or if it is, it's because of some bad coding going on. It is happening in WZ's and worse yet, in instanced FP's and Ops whereby there is rubber banding as the server catches up, powers that are not triggering for 1/2 second after click which can throw your timing right off and other problems...there's something not right. I don't think this is a 1.3 thing versus server merges but it IS happening. It is not the client computer unless you can claim that 1) all 8 people in the ops experience the same problem on their clients at same time 2) a 12 CPU with 12Gb memory and the top end PC graphics card/dual DVI with 100Mb/s internet connection can't keep up with the game p.
  2. Ya, this is my problem with this. I rarely have that many Mobs around me since the Ranged mobs will NOT be in range to be affected by this. Honestly. If they were that close anyway, they are being AoE'd to death by my ranged DPS team mates....and very rarely would I be instructing anyone to stun/hold a mob that close to where I am jumping in anyway versus someone on the fringes. I don't see how this really provides much tanking value to 'avoid' mobs that would break on damage I would rather get the damage bonuses to cyclone and sweep by putting my points in the other trees than guardian
  3. posting this here just to hope someone from BW sees this. War leader columni set bonus is broken. It does NOT give the +2 seconds to warding call. This is a pretty serious bug given that +2 seconds of 40% damage reduction is a pretty significant bonus, PLEASE FIX
  4. okay, now I'm really confused. Can someone (again?) explain this. I have asked elsewhere but no-one seems to have an anwer 1) how can the parser show an attack of X damage with the shield absorbing X damage if shield chance is only Y %. Someone suggested this is 'other skills or powers' that are doing the absorb and not the shield to account for the 100% absorb...is this accurate? I am not aware that the log actually shows any of the power/skill mitigated numbers (which is annoying) and only the 'end result' of the attack (after armour, powers, skills, accuracy etc. etc. are taken into affect). So 796 kinetic.....796 absorb makes no sense. 2) What exactly IS glance. Parry will show a clear miss (0 damage). glance will sometimes show NO additional information which assumes the entire attack damage hit...but now I see in my log '38 energy....-glance.....38 absorb). so i'm now really confused what glance represents
  5. that's a good point... but this is being tested with just me and my ranged companion so that is not it. I'm pretty sure that the combat log uses absorbed for shield - anything else doesn't make sense at all
  6. Is anyone else using the relic with shield amplification? I can't seem to get anyone to explain this relic to determine if it is bugged or just a 200 comm useless purchase? I like that it is an auto-proc (6 seconds no more than once every 20 seconds) increasing absorb by 405. However, in the combat log, I see shield amplification turn on - but NO subsequent absorb stats prior to it turning off. (this is often the case in the log) Now this doesn't make sense to me at all. It should only turn on IF an attack is eligible to be shielded....and IF it is eligible to be shielded, then it should ABSORB something I'm having other concerns as well since I don't seem to be understanding teh mechanics of the shield. If you have a 40% chance to shield (for example) with a 45% absorb, then why does the combat log often show the entire attack being absorbed when shielded....what's actually happening in the calculations!?
  7. is it not odd that you can't see at all what your armour is doing for you OR your damage reduction skills (from what I can see). So there is really no way to tell how effective your entire package is doing across armour, skills, powers, defense, shield, absorption. Everything is about DPS I'd like to see what that sucker WAS going to hit me from at the very start of any calculation, figure out my avoidance %, figure out my reduction, figure out my mitigation
  8. wow. it's nice to know that the same people who call people morons in the WZ's try to defend this kind of action in the forums. There is NO excuse for being a nasty a.. on chat channel. It shows your immaturity, and complete lack of any social skills. I'm sure you all learned how to play your computer games as experts from the womb, never ever did anything wrong, and have some huge feeling of entitlement. There's a name for you all: it's called a bully. Anyone with a bit of class will educate someone...'hey look at the colors on the ceiling if you are confused' in huttball. or 'did you know you can buy recruit gear for credits - please check it out'.....or as ops leader, send some simple instructions before the match starts for noobs while you twiddle your thumbs waiting for it to start. Some people spam chat so much that they cannot be doing much good themselves in the wz. Seriously, do you really think that your intimidation is actually going to help this person in any way? No, you just want to be a jerk to put someone down because you can Only approach to this is that anyone calilng someone a moron or stupid or other similar commentary can and should be told to get his sippy cup from his mommy and come back to the game after they have calmed down. (just to see them burst a blood vessel) but probably best to just ignore.

    PvP stats

    Bioware....what exactly were you thinking with the PvP stats. Number of wins but no total number of games? numbers do not equal metrics. How about some useful stats like % won average medals per match average kills, average deaths Total # of matches by WZ type I can think of a whole lot of nice information that you obviously have....has someone created a real list yet of what 'should' be on the stats page?
  10. can anyone explain the difference between dodge, glance, parry, deflect, and miss? Also, parsing through combat logs, I have a lot of attacks that are absorbed for 100% of the damage indicated...not sure how this works since I thought absorb % was supposed to be how much the shield absorbed if it kicked in and if not, then what is that stat representing - because clearly if there is a signfiicant chance of a much higher absorb than the fixed amount shown, it changes my thoughts on defense versus shield/absorb stat usage! lastly, I have the relic of shield amplication that in the description stats that 'when triggered', increaess absorption by 405 (or something like that). Now, I would have thought that this should be triggered ONLY on a successfull shield and then last for 6 seconds....but as I go through the combat logs there seems to be a lot of occasions where the shield overcharge is activated but here are NO absorption stats before it de-activates. This seems like a bug to me as the proc should be activated ONLY by a shieldable attack and I should always see absorbed damage immediately after the activation.....
  11. this ! It is unfortunate, but TorParse seemed to be the only one so far that created a truly useful parser for a tank that readily demonstrates defense and avoidance statistics :-(
  12. exactly. I use mouse only for movement/rotation and CC break. I use the gaming keypad with a handrest and 14 keybindings in my left so the keys are all nicely at my fingers (row of 5, row of 5, row of 4, + next foe/next ally from thrumb) Is this not very normal to use the mouse left/right 100% for movement/rotation instead of wasd?

We have just as much trouble doing Pub versus Pub..... but I see very few 8 man pre-mades...but it looks like that because there is a core set of 20 or so that randomly get grouped together whenever 'something' pops. So the pre-mades are really a rotating pug group but since we are always playing against each other we certainly get to know how to work together even if it is a virtual pre-made
  14. which is odd considering the twin spears imps NEVER queue for PvP on a PvP server even though you are saying that they typically have twice the load!!?? odd.... or did all the lvl 50 imps jump ship a while ago (we get 1 of 10 pops in WZ's against imps and then they get rolled - we play naked on the rep side). Its unfortunate that torstats really doesn't give any real data for any server that is light and they all are lumped into the same .98 bucket so I always assumed twin would be an origin server (btw: total on at PM hours on twin is typically 70 - 90 on the rep side with about 40% of that being the 50's hanging out on fleet or doing dailies)

  17. can anyone explain to me why the two tank augments use power instead of endurance...these seem like the only two augments that provide a completely useless stat versus non tank who get primary stat + endurance?   18. great info...thanks all ! we certainly did learn about the splash damage the hard way good to know that when the stun droids arrive seems like the time you might as well just burn them down since damage on droid is going way down Definately seems like we need to go in with a more concrete plan and assignments instead of our first take which was just focused on the 'tank move droid' / 'solve puzzle efficiently' - too many other things as well to worry about
  19. the comms are worth it for the rakata pieces and the high end relics. I think everyone is kinda missing the point wrt dailies. I understand they have to be there or there is litterally 'nothing' to do in the game if you are not grouped or are waiting for PvP pop (or don't like it) until BW produces new content. What they SHOULD have done is created a larger set of missions that randomly rotated each day, took longer with higher reward an/ or had something random to the mission reward. BW did this on the cheap and it feels cheap. It is truly a grind doing the same thing over and over and over but thankfully there is NO purpose to doing them after you get the few items from the comms (probably a total of 600 comms?)
  20. do you have the folks up top contribute to the fight or do they concentrate just on getting the puzzle moved as fast as possible? Do you move him as fast as possible or only when you 'need to' to get rid of his buffs? We are using 2 pads now
  21. can someone provide some useful advice for fabricator fight? We are partially geared columni group. 2 healers, smuggler, guardian, sentinel, shadow, commando, trooper. We put the commando, smuggler, 1 healer on the consoles we have completed EV, no problems with KP until fabricator..... we just can't seem to get anywhere with him. Questioning whether we are doing this right. Is the goal to move him as quickly as possible between furnaces or should the strategy be to hit him with the blast then go all out on him until his buff ticks back to ??? (5? 8? 10?) and THEN move him again? We think we are causing ourselves grief by moving him to often and assume this is what then causes the stun droids again which then distracts us from DPS. We get him down to 40% routinely and then usually something goes wrong like our key healer getting lengthy stun causing our tank to die.... 1.9 Million hit points :-( We get him down to 700K which is depressing. Just curious how many furnace hits we 'should' be doing or 'need' to be doing go ahead...say it.... L2P..... sure....just tell us how :-)
  22. it maxes out at 10000. It's really truly annoying. especially when you need to do light side diplomacy to get your bio supplies if you don't want to wait for a dark mission to cycle or waste credits on companion gift mission to open a mission slot. Not that much of a problem though because unfortunately, there is very little use for being at Dark V since once you level up, the dark V relic gets outpaced by other stuff.... the most annoying thing is losing the title temporarily..... at least you can eliminate the light points easy enough by doing a diplomacy mission again
  23. niec to see them add more servers but VERY odd that they have not added in a second PvP server (except for RP). I had sort of assumed that the vast majority of raging was from inability to PvP so would think the would be putting up more PvP servers. Frankly people who are annoyed at not being able to PvP from a non PvP server should be less of a priority! IMHO of course. Still am fascinated on how they are picking and chosing. I was hoping to ensure a move to a high pop server from the start but they already are starting to put people into 0.98 servers according to torstats i think
