  2. easy question but can't seem to find answer! Does durability affect armor in a constant manner? Do I only need to worry when it shows the armor icon warning me of durabilty issues or does armour value decrease in some calculated way constantly based on durability even if not yet showing the 'damaged' icon?
  3. Thank you. Your point gets to the heart of the matter . These problems have been solved in many games and BW simply has ignored how to implement a game using 'best practices' and seems to have taken a giant leap backwards in game design. CoH autoscaled encounters to group size which was great and didn't implement a meaningless 'lets do it over and over cuz that's what we call gaming' approach to content! Wow, I'm so tired of people who seem to believe that rerunning the same content over and over is called a game. Warhammer had 9-12 warzones....BW: 3 and comes out with a HUGE patch that adds ONE? Entire worlds with 3 people on them....anyone feel insulted when it puts up 'PvP contested zone' on the screen? Very Sad. $200+ Million dollars to develop and such great core elements that gets lost in the bigger set of problems
  4. Thank you for your pointer to changing the party leader. I think you are missing the point re: re-running. To do well in the up-scale hard flashes or in the operations, you need to work your gear up. WIthout getting predictable drops, you are getting blocked from being able to reasonably complete the harder encounters. SO yes casual gamers DO get upset - not a rage, upset. because it means we are stuck on playing the same things because this game is truly oriented around ensuring you have the gear to match the requirement of the encounter you are attempting
  5. 1) There is no dev response. They said they fixed it and then didn't and have acknowledged that it is a bug. This is not a response - its a bug list 2) Seriously, I have been a programmer for 22 years and I can tell you that matching loot to team makeup is not complicated no matter how it might seem in your head but they are simply not doing it because they think for 'some' reason, that it is not important or 'important enough'. Not sure why you reference 1.2? This was broken when the product launched so either someone thought they shouldn't match loot to players or they have programmers that intended to have it work that way, it didn't, and they said they fixed it and it didn't which now points to even bigger problems that include the QA department. People are giving BW way too much slack. I give them kudo's for beautiful graphic design but there is no excuse for the big ticket quality items. They are producing patches that are doing things like 'fixing companion stats' as if it really matters since playing PvE will never win or lose based on your companion stats but having people play for an hour in a hard mode flashpoint to get nothing is a big issue that should have an 'ermergency patch' .
  6. in WHAT way is your post relevant? 1) Majority of gamers do NOT read forums - yes, believe it 2) It has nothing to do with them POSTING that it is a bug....it has to do with the fact that the bug EXISTS and they have taken so long to resolve a basic component of PVE gaming
  7. This is TRULY absurd. This is by far the most basic element of PVE content play and they couldn't figure out 1) create loot list 2) if win, check group makeup 3) random select from table 1 filtered by list 2 It makes the flashpoints meaningless. It's hard enough for casual gamers to coordinate schedules to get 4 people to do the hard mode flashes and then you end up with virtually nothing. What's worse is they come out with an 'emergency' patch today for an economy exploit....thanks for nothing
  8. is the story line different for different subclasses or all knights get same story? And I'm curious how many people played dark jedi? I have to give it a solid 9 end-game story. I wish I could give you some story notes without spoilers but the game reacted extremely well to my fall to the dark side all the way up to the end story and actually beyond into the final cut-scene (oh ya....and sorry about that mixup on voss people...I'm pretty sure he tripped even if you thnk I pushed him) I play with my partner all the time and let's just say that the trooper story is more about becoming a master electrician and disabling bombs and communications arrays throughout the story versus the epic story arc that the knight is part of.
  9. so what's going on? Last patch notes said that they fixed flashpoints so that they dropped group specific gear. Just finished hard mode taral V and got dropped a smuggler drop with a team made up of a guardian, sentinal, sage, and shadow REALLY annoying BW. This is pretty BASIC stuff to get right.
  10. this is not about PvE champions...its about real bosses in flashpoints and/or operations. I agree there is no reason to use them in normal PvE
  11. so I'm doing the opposite so doesn't it seem like they screwed up the appropriate set bonus for the different lines of guardian gear?
  12. I am attempting to play a pure survival tank as I generally play with others. I find that the vindicator set bonus is what I want given the guardian leap capability is extremely useful - especially in PvP to get that healing hit. But the stats of the war leader set is more valuable to me. Anyone else having this issue and ending up buying war leader gear just to spend enormous amounts of credits to remove the mods and put them into the vindicator set?
  13. let's face it. Most people raging are immature and waste more time yelling than playing. I'm pretty fed up with the guy on our server that yells at everyone 'i carried this whole WZ' and points to his uber damage scores ignoring completely that damage dealt is a pretty useless indicator of his contribution given the objective based games. I have seen him running around spamming people with AoE whenever he can and then moving on for damage ticks and ignoring the game. From what i can see, there is just a subset of people who are plain nasty and mean. The so called 'success' they have is because of endless hours of playing to gear up to overpowering gear to others in the WZ. Not some magical 'L2P' capability. Teamwork is meaningless to them except for their small set of Vent buddies and eveyrone is supposed to magically guess what their strategy is because they won't tell you in chat - they'd rather yell at us when we can't just guess. Unfortunately, it is very sad that these gamers are simply not worth the time playing with - even if you win because they are just plain unpleasant. If they haven't done this (I don't think they have), they should ensure that IGNORE ensures you don't get queued into the same WZ anymore becuase I have seen some new lvl 50's yelled at from the moment the queue pops based on previous WZ's they have been in and different 'perform' well enough. so the first 5 minutes of the WZ is ending up watching a pissing match in chat between two people you really don't care about
  14. seems to usually happen when zoning but once you get them going it seems okay. timer between simliar relics is 30 seconds and cooldown on individual is 120 seconds
  15. I'm thinking more about just putting more credits in since that is what the stuff gets translated into. It's just kind of annoying setting the loot roll to ensure there is equity in case of a really good drop having to roll on this stuff (maybe I need to look at options) versus credits that split automatically in group. I get your point re: companions but they get enough hand-me-downs as is without me thinking that I'll 'find' something for them!
  16. why exactly do almost all the daillies drop lvl 50 green and possibly blue gear....what's the point? Is ANYONE actually using this stuff (seriously, if you have made it to lvl 50, you are using some combination of orange gear PVE or PvP gear). Just seems like this stuff is actually junk and we should be able to have our companions sell it as such. IS there actually a segment of the playing base who would go 'wow...that green item is GREAT!' past about lvl 20?

  18. ya, i'm trying to figure out what I'm doing/stat that is driving each of these different 'type' of misses and I 'think' it has to do with melee versus ranged or something?
  19. can anyone explain the difference between dodge, glance, parry, deflect, and miss? Also, parsing through combat logs, I have a lot of attacks that are absorbed for 100% of the damage indicated...not sure how this works since I thought absorb % was supposed to be how much the shield absorbed if it kicked in and if not, then what is that stat representing - because clearly if there is a signfiicant chance of a much higher absorb than the fixed amount shown, it changes my thoughts on defense versus shield/absorb stat usage!
  20. ah. I see the defense stats in TorParse but am a bit confused...can anyone clarify miss versus dodge versus glance versus parry versus deflect? And also, while the absorb number is shown, how does this directly translate into how often or % that shield is kicking in? does it correspond to one of the items in the previous sentence? It would be nice to compare to 'shield chnace' stat

I've looked at a few of these and I can't seem to find one that actually documents defense information: I'd really like to know how many attacks are being parried, deflected, shielded by me and how much damage was absorbed - which I think is all available in the logs - or am I just not reading the information properly? or can someone point me to a parser that does show this? Anyway to calculate how long you are stunned, immobilized etc.?
  22. YES there are full war-hero sets out there....just inspect some people in your WZ's? Give up everyone on the REROLL suggestions or SWITCH servers. Some of us CASUAL gamers took 4 months to get to lvl 50 just to have the experience become incredibly frustrating because of gear - not because we can't play the role we selected. Ya think we are going to do it all over again? Let's just get used to the fact that Uber players like stomping less fortunate. It's not an L2P issue or a competitive game they want...they just want to win through gear...remember everyone crying when they created a separate tier for lvl 50 - wow...the fact that people complained says it all. The only solution is to put in ranked WZ's so the people who are geared out and vented together can actually run into some real competition and let us 50 pugs happily have fun playing (badly apparently) and not getting yelled at. Now, that being said....the comm's are back to pre-1.2. Lost a civil war match with 8 medals and got 70 comms....fine with me! I don't mind taking weeks to get geared up piece by piece....it was just silly to make it months because the gear itself was over powering
  23. can someone clarify this for me: "Campaign Relic of the Kinetic Tempest" +84 Endurance. Equip: Damaging attacks have a 30% to deal 246 additional Kinetic damage to the target. This effect can only occur once every 4.5 seconds, and shares this limit with similar damage-dealing effects. does this mean that the datacron is turned on (or passive) without a global countdown or it still has a 20s activation time (during which it may hit a maximum of 4 times), then a further 70s cooldown like most other relics?
  24. good idea: Second, its entirely inconsistent with the plotline they've written up. Both the republic and empire are issuing strict instructions to limit the plague. Perhaps if they'd assigned (heavy) light and dark side values to infecting others/not trying to curb the infection, it would make more sense. As it is, everyone is being encouraged to disobey their faction. I like the event...at least it's got some dynamic interaction...but the idea above is a REALLY good idea. Should have made it so light people tried to cure people and dark infected people or did nothing and let infection happen
