What they shoulda done with the PvP system atleast, is make it 'Galactic' wide.
What that means, basically, is make it Game-Based and not Server-Based. People from my server (Port Nowhere) could end up in Warzones with people from Fatman, etc.
This solves the one problem of low-pop servers not being able to do Warzones.
It does little to solve the issue with dead planets/dead world PvP.
My thing is, why didn't they do it by channels and not servers?
Rather than have 35 East servers, have 1 server, and have it run on channels per planet.
IE: Nar Shaddaa has 10 channels with a capacity of 100. Once Channel 1 reaches 100 players, the next players get shifted to channel 2, etc. You can queue to join a full channel, or choose to join a channel that isn't full, etc.
This rids the problem of low-pop servers completely, and I think it goes with the spirit of Star Wars IE huge Galaxy, by letting everyone play with everyone.
The only spilt I would do is English/French/German/Spanish etc.
This way, you don't have dead planets, you don't have dead world PvP, you don't have any issues like that.
And then, people who don't want to partake in PvP at all, have an option for them called "Role-Playing" or something. They can't be attacked, or attack a Player Character, nor can they heal one of their own faction. Make the default option be PvP on. So then you have a place for PvE only players, and PvPers alike.
Or hell, spilt it by just being English (PvE)/ English(PvP). That's solved.
It's easier to add 'channels" than it is entire servers. For the simple fact that, once you have dead servers, you have to close them down, which ends up looking bad for the game (So the theory goes).
Maybe this idea isn't feasible, I don't know. Pretty sure I played a game that did this about 5 years ago, though.
