Those Zakuulan Captains do hit hard, plus, level 15 Influence is pretty low for Master mode, so you ought to consider buying some gifts to level him up. That is the way to level up his stats. Otherwise, they shouldn't be any lower than any other companion at the same rank. The T7 vs Arcann fight isn't an apples vs apples comparison.

There is no "aiming" for the bullseye. It is completely RNG, and any notions that you can time it for a better result is just placebo.

A piece of advice I would offer, related to 'Feeding', is that if you're undergeared and/or aren't very skilled, then at least make the enemy work for the kill! Instead of futilely flying straight at an enemy battlescout trying to hit it with your unmodded Light/Rapid Fire Lasers, make them waste their time chasing you. You can practice zig-zagging around, hugging asteroids, and maybe even bait them into getting lined up for a friendly gunship to take them out. And if you can keep the enemy distracted off your team's heavy hitters, or overextended, so much the better. While you may not rack up great numbers doing this, believe me, it will be a great help to your team in a way that the scoreboard won't directly show.

Regarding the lack of need for 110% Accuracy in PVP: Just put all your Accuracy Enhancements and Augments in just enough of your gear items so that you only need to swap out a couple pieces of gear for your super-optimized PVP setup. For example, run Initiative ear and implants, with Accuracy augments, but then have a set of crit/alacrity ear and implants you can swap to for PVP. That sure beats having to swap every single piece of gear with the old Expertise system!

The Overcharged tuning, and Light / Dark tunings have flamey effects. The Light and Dark tunings have blue and red flamey effects, respectively, while the Overcharged tuning flame effect is the color of the crystal you have in the item.

"EMP" has nothing to do with gravity. An EMP is a disruption effect, not a tractor beam. If anything, an Interdiction drone might be more appropriate since that casts a kind of slowing tractor beam.
