  1. There is one difference between pvp and pve servers. That on a pvp server you are consenting to being permanently flagged for pvp, that's it. There are no difference in quests or any game content between any of the server designations. Conversely, the only thing different on a PvE server from a pvp server is that in order to participate in open world pvp you have to voluntarily flag yourself in some way of which there are four methods. 1. Toggle the pvp flag by right clicking on your portrait. 2. Run into an opposing faction base area and the game will give you a 10 second warning countdown. 3. Target and attack a flagged player of the opposite faction. 4. Target a flagged player of your own faction and heal them or your companion heal them. How to avoid this if you don't want to pvp, don't toggle flag is obvious, stay away from enemy bases is also obvious, turn off auto target enemies and don't tab target too quickly; lastly, don't group with flagged players.
  2. So I went back and checked the combat log from when I soloed h2 star fortress for all the hidden achievements with a 17 influence lana. Consistently, regardless of boss or trash pull, she performed at 50% ehps meaning only that percentage of her heals were necessary to keep my character alive. My character was in 186 armorings with mix of 198 and 216 everywhere else. Granted, I do have a lot of presence through legacy achievements and datacrons, but even with a 50% nerf to healing I doubt I would have noticed a difference outside of my health being a few percentage points lower prior to receiving a large heal. Bottom line: I would expect that bioware has plenty of data similar to what I found in my combat log, and that they also expect people to not really notice a difference unless someone really messes up in some combat fight. People need to stop over reacting or treating their own opinions as facts prior to actually experiencing the changes. Also the yelling back and forth about vocal minorities is hilariously pointless because everyone contributed to the metrics that lead to these changes.
  3. Why unlock with cc when you can use legacy weapons and valueless in game credits? I guess across multiple servers but even that is get a level 10 with unlocks, transfer between servers and unlock on new server. More time but less cc spent.
  4. The irony of the OP making this thread is hilarious!
  5. When was the last time outside of gas prices was anything marked with more than 2 spots after the decimal? Stock market maybe?
  6. At this point, if you are in for the story, commit to using youtube for 5 minutes at the start of each month when they release a new chapter. Much cheaper.
  7. I did not realize it was possible to be typeless All SM ops bolster people so that gear is not the issue. Absolutely no ground to stand on with that argument anymore. Clearly you are failing mechanics and that in and of itself is impressive and accounts for my previous disbelief. On Draxus you have to interrupt some adds, kill the healer, and not stand in guardian aoes. That is it. Yep, clearly the game is at fault, must be made easier even though they already took the bulwarks out of the draxus fight so people who couldn't understand the concept of "can't do damage through shields" can't screw that up anymore.
  8. Actually the biggest example of this that they have done would be the anniversary info graphic from last year where it said the most used crystal since launch was the yellow black crystal. Now that was probably in fact true because of the number of collectors editions they sold and the fact that the crystals provided through that were easily accessible at each level break and that those original players probably made a lot of characters that could take advantage of that availability in those first few months. It would have been much more informative to say what crystal was more popular since say the Cartel market released but instead they included a large quantity of data which skewed the result to yellow black crystals which are a completely exclusive item to collectors edition owners...
  9. Goes back to the original bad design of 16 man. The devs originally just took everything and doubled it, both mob health and damage output. It made bosses easier because health was calculated for 4 tanks included in raid but it made trash pulls longer because the doubled health wasn't in one focused body.
  10. Bioware has commented on this in the past, was an interview I believe with swtor economics but not going to try finding it on my phone. The interviewee does mention that buying items from sellers that could be fraudulent is something they would prefer players not do because it encourages continued fraud. Maybe I just inferred it from this post that it is also important to not give them credits to sell and combined it with the fact that a bot clearly posts things on different servers guns in quick succession. Anyways! Larger yellow post from this summer http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=8229028&postcount=1
  11. Did you pay attention to why people were dying, a little more info than many wipes nerf please is needed? Typical way for wipes in a pug group is to stand in the lightning field and unfortunately bioware can't upgrade player brainpower.
  12. You have to use character slot unlocks to go above the basic number provided. 40 is just the potential max.
  13. Point of tactical is that there are no role requirements so you don't have to wait long periods for a low population role.
  14. L2p can also include things like "don't stand in red" or "LoS things that hit hard when possible" or "learn kill order" and several other basic things. I was tanking a Flashpoint Sunday and the two dps were trying to kill the gold enemy that doesn't heal which forced me to hold aggro on that plus the two silvers and 4 standard enemies in the mob group. Continuous result was the silvers would soon deal enough damage to me while the standard would make the healers life hell! But darn didn't that gold need to die first. Anyway! Point is that L2p can encompass a lot more for new players than your very narrow definition and this game doesn't teach it outside of one player helping another. Which brings us to Bob's three types of players. The whole mastery Stat change is for type 3 because they can't be bothered and if you get any Flashpoint which includes players of that mindset then you are likely to fail regardless of difficulty level.
  15. It's bugged! But when not bugged it is very convenient.
  16. Every time I see vailyn's name I just want to star chanting, "Valen Dreth! Valen Dreth!"
  17. Harbinger, take your hamsters back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Server crashed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. FYI on Mr. Troll here, he seems to have accumulated 212 posts in the past two weeks and his earlier posts clearly indicate that he is a new player. This makes him a couple of things but one clear one is that he is on a crusade to either troll or belittle anyone who insults the new found shiny and has really no reference for how the game was actually before 4.0 as it would appear he only started playing 3-5 days before the new expansion hit live servers for early access. AKA, as he has dismissed so many others opinions, you are probably safe to dismiss his and not get into an insult contest which it seems is what this individual is constantly aiming for.
  20. Bosses in SV are also dropping incorrect loot pieces and sometimes only one piece.
  21. Welcome back thoughtful wall-o-text! And yes bio ware continues to have issues with this.
  22. Dirty secret about war zone pvp, if you buy 208 gear or less with basic comms then you will be playing skill vs skill. Minor difference will be set bonuses. Expertise only truly makes a difference in open world.
  23. Fixed it for you. There was a tank/healer population problem leading to long queues for dps. The removed part you added on your own.
