  1. just to clear this up. Almost every fight in KP, EV and EC you are going to get hit regardless if your a tank or not. and most people pvp in some form, yes this is a pve guide, and i'm not about to respec. Regardless I'll take my faster centering built over 15% slash crits.
  2. defensive forms isn't even about the damage reduction. everytime your hit you get 2 stacks of centering, can occur every 1.5 seconds. Thats a good bit. For first boss fight in EC...having Transcendence up to pop before the prior one has worn off is excellent for the fight, or healing your group for almost 2k each in a few seconds is clutch in case your healers are having a tough time. If you raid EC, then make sure you are running a Parser or checking out your logs. 1/10th of those attacks should be Slash..Just doesn't seem like a decent way to spend 2 points.
  3. 1. Strength always gives .2 bonus damage to force and melee..I'm at 1804 Strength at the moment and haven't hit a DR. The critical chance you gain from Strength does get reduced as you go up higher. 2. anywhere from 25%-30% melee critical chance is good. Force will be 40% with Juyo, maybe more for those who spec into Insight. 3. anywhere from 70-75% critical multiplier is fine. Your already getting 30% Critical Damage on burns, when thats most of our damage. 4. Stack POWER...Power gives .23 bonus damage. 5. Accuracy in watchman spec should be 98%+ for melee. Despite what some think, having over 100% accuracy doesn't give you armor penetration. It just reduces there chance to deflect, parry, dodge or resist an attack.
  4. actually i disagree..Steadfast is worthy of being used because it allows you to use enhancements without accuracy on them...example...Power/Surge...as watchman force critical isn't really needed. If you have Columi your already at 25% force critical...Through in 15% from juyo form and thats 40%...so going from 40% to 46% is going to be this huge dps gain...Not really! So there is plenty to be said. I personally only have 1 point in steadfast...2 in Defensive Forms for the AoE reduction because of the new Ops. I could take those 3 points and put them into Insight to get 6 extra crits out of 100.. Or I could place them into Steadfast to gain 3% accuracy which free's up 2 possibly 3 enhancements. Maybe if it added the 6% to force and melee there might be a discussion. But honestly..when force crits are already so high, the gain is minimal with the way it is now. Force Crit is 47% with juyo.. Stacked Power all the way..Sitting on 711 (540 Bonus Melee Damage and 880 Bonus Force Damage) Surge is at 74% Accuracy at 99.25% Like i said, you wanna know how to play watchman...Hit me up in game on our server. And watchman is not just a pve spec....I play it very effectively in PvP and theres not one person that will tell you otherwise that plays with me.
  5. my 2 cents. Cauterize should only be used for the last stack of Zen. Pop Zen + Overload Saber...with 100% uptime you will get 1 crit at 1 stack, 1 crit at 2 stacks and 3 crits at 3 stacks. 2 stacks of Overload Saber hit harder than Cauterize. I always wait for the 3rd stacks last tic and then apply cauterize..
  6. 1. nice effort 2. as a watchman your wasting 2 points in swift slash. You shouldn't be using Slash enough for that to even be considered useful. Out of 1000 attacks Slash should make up for no more than 100 of those. 3. Defensive Forms is a must. You get hit plenty in Operations for it to be considered worthy of the 2 points over swift slash. 4. Insight is over-rated. It only increases force critical. That being said, Most End Game wathcman sentinels will already be sitting close to 45% crit rate for your burns with Juyo form. thats my 2 cents...maybe not your play style. Like the guy said above..Placing points into Steadfast gives you the option to use Power/Surge enhancements. In Denova, having 2/2 in Defensive Roll also helps alot since we are speaking about end-game and there are tons of AoE damge in there. And another pointer for a poster. Those 2 points into Master Focus are well worth it. Master Strike should be used as soon as it comes off CD...It should be your 3rd highest DPS contributor when in raid. Burns are about 40% of your damage followed by Merc Slash then Master Strike. It's free damage and it hits like a truck.
  7. the last 10 pts are personal preference more so. But to me and how I've built my sentinel I use 31/7/3. Combat Tier 1: Duel Wield Mastery 3/3 and Defensive Forms 2/2 <-----A must for max dps Combat Tier 2: Defensive Roll 2/2 For the new Operations..Lots of AoE damage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Focus Tier 1: Master Focus 2/2...Master Strike should be used every time it comes off Cool-down. Period, In watchman spec it counts for a good chunk of your dps and not using it holds you back. and I also place 1 point into Insight. Depending on where I'm at on accuracy, I will swap that point between Steadfast and Insight. Going 7 pts into Focus to get an extra 15% critical chance on Slash may seem like a good idea in thought. In all honesty, its not on paper. Slash should be no more than 1/10th of your attacks. If it is then your missing your other skills that do so much more damage. But for me it doesn't come down to what the 10 points go into. 31/5/2 is needed for watchman. Those last 3 points are the ones that are debatable in my opinion.

  9. Honestly, you realize once a few sent/mara have this they are going to change it. and frankly i'd rather have the weaponmaster 4 pc set bonus over that. That extra 5 meters is clutch if you pay attention to your surroundings like I do. I'll sometimes target over to another person just to use it if I see there health is low enough. The damage is great, maybe not as good as other classes finishers but it gets the job done. Sometimes you have a Sage/Sorc force speed off and that 5 meters comes in handy. again, more thank likely it will be changed so it only applies the affect to guardians and you would of wasted all that time. I would have to say that there are certain War Hero Vindicator pieces that have better mod/enhancement than the weaponmaster equivalent. So I am purchasing certain pieces. Not for the armoring, just the other 2 slots.
  10. also never asked for sympathy. Again, I voiced my opinion. Replying with nothing constructive makes you seem naive and childish..but then again, it's always expected to happen. And who said anything about websites. By Biowares definition of a Standard Population meaning no more than 200 players actively online on a server from both factions then wow. I like the game, enjoy the game and want to play the game but its kinda hard to do so when they don't want to look bad for closing servers. It's going to happen. The faster they do so the quicker the recovery process can start. Is that to hard to understand?
  11. i rolled my Sith Assassin first, got him to 50 and found that que times sucked and guilds were less ambitious...I then re-rolled republic on the same server as a Jedi Sentinel. Population was great when the game was new.. Now that there not living up to expectations people are gone...Populations on all servers are dwindling... There might be 5 servers out of all of them that have a sustaining population..Sorry, I rolled 2 toons to 50...First MMO I've ever ever ever leveled more than 1 toon. I voiced my opinion and yes TROLOLOLERS will Flock in the masses.. But its a fact, servers are bleeding. I'm not saying I don't like the game. I enjoy it, but like MANY MANY MANY MANY others have already stated...This game does not have Massive Multiplayer inteactions. And yes I heard they are going to Implement Server Transfers...hmm, I also heard 1.2 was suppose to have Rated Warzones in it. Hmmm, also heard a lot of other bs that didn't come to light. So i take what they say with a grain of salt.
  12. The title states it all. You still have a Player Base, but daily I see this population shrinking. I play on Elysium and currently we have a Standard Population according to your server status. I have a 50 Jedi Sentinel and 50 Sith Assassin and adding the total amount of players on both faction fleets we don't even have 100 players on. Yes, I know this is just the fleet but I'll take a gamble and say no more than 200 other players both Imp and Pub are leveling. What does this have to do with us helping you? A LOT... So right now I am stuck in Limbo. I enjoy the PvP aspect and the PvE aspect of this game and I would say a lot of other players feel the same way. But you are killing your own game right now in the process refusing to take action and "MERGE" servers. There is no if, and or but about it. This needs to be done. To be honest, within the next week. Most people play MMO's to interact with other players. I know I do, but the way your model is set up is not working. Refusing to accept that your bleeding out is not the way. I wanna play SWTOR. I want to PvP in SWTOR. I want to clear HM EC in SWTOR. I want to fill the other 4 War Hero Pieces I need in SWTOR. And the few remaining PvP'rs want to do Rated Warzones in SWTOR. Give us Transfers or Merge...There is no point in drawing this out any further. I can't play a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE game with no more than a handful of people. The desire to log in has faded.
  13. meh, Tera seems lame. I'm waiting for Wildstar. With a trailer better than most Disney movies I'm def willing to give it a shot. swtor isnt failing. Yes the game is losing some population, but for the ones who are staying it would be best suited for server merges. Every server should have at least 100 players on the Fleets, but that's not the case. On Elysium we barely touch 50 during prime hours. PvP ques aren't popping until 5pm eastern and its getting old real fast. Come on BW and merge some servers, I'm on a medium Population server and we are feeling the effects
  14. I utilize my keyboard in a different way than most people do...I'm not a wasd mover...I use arrow keys and Holding down both mouse buttons when in pvp combat. My bindings are: 1. Force Leap 2. Strike 3. Slash 4. Cauterize 5. Merc Slash 6. Overload Saber 7. Zen 8. Transcendence then I move down a row for more bindings. Q. Zealous Strike W. Master Strike E. Force Sweep R. Blade Storm and also have Dispatch binded to my Middle Mouse Button. other than that..With my relics, adrenals, defensive cooldowns, interupt, Force Camo and Resolute I usually click on those. Don't have them bound to anything.
  15. Operatives/Scoundrel dps are a one trick pony...If your a sent/mara you shouldn't be losing to them. They have 4 seconds basically of taking away 5-6k hp, and that's only if you don't have your CD's up...we have so many abilities to negate what there trying to accomplish. After there stun is up its game over...Even if they catch you with both stuns you should have 40% health left plus the extra 5 seconds from Guarded. 19 seconds is def not some burst damage..I can burn tank'rs down faster than that. The real story was you got out played by a better player. Sorry things didn't work out for ya. All these NERF *Insert Class Here* forum post are all bs. Learn to counter, play smarter. But then again, not all sent/mara have the awareness to maximize ones burst. I find that there healing capabilities are more annoying than there dps.
  16. the extra hits from ataru proc is nowhere near as effective as dots, maybe cauterize but Overload Saber crushes. Zen + Overload Saber is nasty... First stack crits for 650ish...2nd stack crits for for 1300, then Merc Slash the 3rd stack on the target and we are talking about 3 tics of 2k+ damage...That just puts people to sleep. Watchman are better at killing healers than combat, and the tank spec'd assassin/shadow with dps gear is ez picknz. Just because they can remove your dots one time doesn't mean much. When they pop there def cooldown, Force Stasis them...When they try hitting you with 3 stacks of HD to get the heal, Force Camo, Awe. Being self aware gets you a long ways in swtor pvp. well having a Conq Jedi Sentinel and a BM Sith Assassin I kinda have a feel for it. I will admit, they are the harder class to 1v1...but the Sentinel should come out on top..Well if your playing Watchman sentinel...Combat probably not a chance.
  17. you can't go wrong with watchman.. you have these Combat fanboys and it's the same people over and over again who play a spec that can't sustain its damage, and is vulnerable to everything any class throws at it. You fail at Watchman if you can't pull more dps than combat. Plain and Simple!!! Watchman is far superior and has been proven over and over in PvE but it's okay...choose what you wanna play. Whatever comes naturally. I play on Elysium, and out of all the sent/mara's...I know of only 2 who play Combat, and they barely do anything. So many CC's to minimize the Precision Slash buff. It's pointless. and btw, watchman heals aren't over-rated. Every burn crit is healing me for 359...And having 50% chance to crit makes it very valuable. Say what you want..In the end, watchman>combat

I would have to disagree that bads play Focus spec'd sents...I play both Focus and Watchman..depending on the mood I'm in and I do very well with both trees...I don't touch Combat, never liked it and never will. On the contrary, I would say I'm one of the top Sentinels on my Server..but I would have to assume our class is a tad over tuned compared to other classes. We didn't really get a buff from 1.2, just mainly fixes that should of been in the game since Launch. However, the dismantling of healing along with the expertise changes have brought the sent/mara AC to the top. Is the class harder to play than others...I wouldn't really say that. Watchman and Focus are easy to play. They have been easy to play since Launch..Maybe it's just me. The poster above is right about us having to Micro-manage to maximize our output, but it comes naturally now after playing so long. So hopefully BW doesn't take to much off the top. I know it's coming, but doesn't matter to me...To many horrible pvp'rs in the game to really have any effect. 2 cents are 2 cents
  19. I always hit Overload Saber and Zen together. By the time overload saber falls off I still have 1 stack of Zen left for Cauterize. Popping it at 3 stacks of overload saber doesn't seem optimal. At 2 stacks, overload saber crits are higher than cauterize. By hitting them at the same time you will get 1 crit from 1 stack, another crit at 2 stacks and 3 crits at 3 stacks leaving 1 left for cauterize. But it's all personal preference.

    I am 3 wins shy of 100 and I already have the Main Hand and 1 Implant...It doesn't take long. Prior to them increasing it might of seemed a bit tedious, but now we are getting 40 ranked comm's for a win basically. That seems pretty legit to me. Put in 10 wins per day and you'll have you gear in no time. Why should gear be handed to you. I had Full Battlemaster in about 10 days besides the relics pre 1.2...That was nothing. IMHO...the way they have it set up now is fine. Once Rated WZ's come to live servers it will get better. But I'll do ya a Favor...Free pvp handouts are catered by Blizzard and Trion...your more than welcome to go that way if your looking for ez pvp gear. Good luck!!!
  21. umm, all melee attacks proc ataru form...the only real reason to use Blade Rush is for the increased chance to proc ataru hits.. Precision Slash >Combat Tranced Blade Storm > Master Strike... is the best dmg you'll get..and the 100% armor pen Master Strike adds about 700 crit dmg to each of the 3 hits compared to a normal Master Strike
  22. how do you get 10 Blade Rush attacks off in 6 seconds..Zen is only reducing the CD by .5 seconds which makes it a 1 second gcd. So in a perfect world with no lag ur getting 6 off...actually take that back..You will probably get 3 off in the amount of time your Precision Slash debuff is up with latency...and again..spam'ing Blade Rush is dumb... wow you live by Combat, but yet I could do it better. And yes I have seen many combat logs... search through my old post...you will see me smashing someone for 36 damage away from 7k in 1 single GCD... 5k medal is ez to get in either watchman or focus.. But yes, the man who can use 10 abilities in 6 seconds knows it all.. lol..what a joke
  23. you can use inspiration.. I have a tendency to hit zen in there, but the debuff fades and I still have time to kill him. Now I move the Zen button to a different place on my action bar so I don't use it anymore.
  24. how are they not good for measuring burst. ACT has a log of the entire encounter, not just dps and the amount of damage you've done. I don't live by Zen heals, and burn crits heal regardless anyways, your opinion is respected..just stating mine.
  25. what, now i need credibility from you? lol. thats funny! maybe if you would of read it right, you might have understood...I'm hitting merc slash faster than a combat spec gets his zen spam... Why would you even use Blade Rush 7-8 times during your armor penetration time with Zen. Again, why do i need cool points from someone who disagrees with me. You can say Combat has better burst all you want. Show hard data on that please. Blade rush barely does anything, Slash hits harder than blade rush..Come on now..your smart. Reducing the gcd by .5 seconds for 2 weak *** abilities..please..Like I said in a previous post...Combat has the 100% armor pen Blade Strom followed by Master Strike...That is it. Half the Combat Sents out there probably aren't even capable of pulling that off Watchmans best 10 seconds vs a Combats best 10 seconds, again...to say the least..Watchman out performs and I would probably bet that Focus has just as much as Combat
