  1. Humanity is made up of individuals, each with their own set of desires, needs, faults, and foibles. That's all. And the reason people are upset with this delay is because this is a delay since, roughly last year when they consolidated servers and said paid transfers would be coming 'soon.' And then we waited, and waited, and waited. And then, yay! 2.2 transfers are coming! And then just before, nope, sorry, you have to wait weeks more. Not a day or so, but weeks. It's...frustrating to say the least. I get why they're not releasing it, and I'd prefer it to be working smoothly before deployment, but the delay is just kind of mind-boggling at this point.
  2. An in-game guild calendar would be really helpful. In-game tools, in general, would be helpful. Yes, there are many guilds who have gone the extra mile and made use of out of game tools, but there are others who do not for any number of reasons.
  3. The better shot?? Zenith. Hands down. Cool, deadly, and ruthless...and dat voice *faints* (Why he is not a romance option for female consulars is one of the great mysteries of the Star Wars universe.) However, in a question of who is more likely to survive? Gault. Absolutely. Man has nine lives and he'd find some way to swindle a tenth.
  4. I don't roll my eyes often but (not at you, to be clear, at BW). Honest to Pete, a minor boost to reputation and xp gains (which are already easy to get) and nim modes do not consitute a guild-focused update. I'd hope there was more to it than that, but 2.1 was a clear lesson in the way they twist words.
  5. Dulfy is the best! http://dulfy.net/2013/06/10/swtor-patch-2-2-developer-livestream-notes/ Edit: Not sure how 2.2 is about guilds when I see nothing guild-related there. Maybe I'm just missing stuff. No more rakghoul event is disappointing, but a new event is good. Other than a small update on the /stuck issue in wzs there really was nothing else of interest here. Why go to the bother of having a livestream if you're not going to say anything?
  6. Does anyone have a link to a transcript of the LiveStream? Or a summary of what was asked and answered...er, responded to?
  7. Disappointing, very disappointing, but, as I said in a prior post, not unexpected. This is par for course.
  8. This delay really couldn't have been surprising to anyone...could it?? They've been very clear that the release dates are TARGET dates, as in not carved into stone and dropped from on high. I get that it's inconvienent to have taken off work in order to enjoy a new patch, but delays of new patches happen so often in mmos, in general, and swtor, in particular, that this cannot be a surprising situation. I'm glad that 1) they're being clear about the delay and why and 2) that they're not releasing an unstable patch in order to hit an arbitrary date. I'd take this experience to heart and plan for there to be delays the next major patch as well - this is pretty much par for course.
  9. Wow, these look awesome! I really love the Sith one. You've developed so wonderfully as an artist!
  10. That's pretty much it. Makeb has very limited replayability. And for 5 levels that's fine...it'll get old after awhile, but you can hold your nose and get through 5 levels. But if that's all that's coming...well, that's just really really sad.
  11. I always love when people try to justify behavior like this. It shows their nature quite well.
  12. Overall, the communication has much improved and, even more important in my view, has stayed improved, since the CM team overhaul. We'd seen spikes and then barren stretches of silence. It's better. It may not always be what we want to hear, but communication is better than silence.
  13. Class stories are more gameplay for almost every player. Plus as one other poster mentioned, there are so many of those class stories that are unfinished with loose ends and unanswered questions. I want to see what happens!
  14. Finishing the stories and running in groups with guildies is why I stay. This game heavily pushes alts. The legacy system is designed around them. To say, hey, level all these alts, they have great stories, and look how you can build your own story around them, and then drop the class stories without so much as a whimper at 50 is...sad (I'm being kind and deleted a number of words before settling on that one). I'm noticing a lot of dev posts today...a dev statement on the status of class stories would be appreciated.
  15. It would be nice if this thread didn't disintegrate into a pve vs. pvp argument. Both require skill. They're merely different skill sets. I'll also say that the time (albeit limited) that I've spent healing in pvp has made me a better healer in pve.
  16. Thank you for the link. As someone who loves the class stories, the comments from Hickman are extremely disheartening. (I'm being kind, there are much worse words running through my head right now.)
  17. I don't recall seeing this. Would you be able to point me in the direction of this statement?
  18. That's the way I remember it as well. Class stories and the immersion they bring is what makes this game distinctive among mmos. Would really like to hear from the team on what the status is with class stories.
  19. Well, we're a few months out of RotHC. It sounds, from the various bits and pieces around, like it was pretty successful for BW. I'm *hoping* it was successful enough that the dedication to story will remain and that next up on the list of story expansions is new chapters in the class stories. Any chance we could get some information on class stories, Eric? To be honest, a simple confirmation that honest to goodness class stories (as opposed to faction-based stories) are being developed would go a long way. Any other information (for example, if companion stories are being expanded) would be icing.
  20. Just wanted to say this is an awesome description. I'm now recalling the days when tumbleweeds populated Fleet
  21. I think you may have misunderstood the context there. I was referring to stuns in pve.
  22. I see what you're saying. My opinion is that making an encounter easier by making it easier to escape a stun isn't necessarily a positive. I like a challenge
  23. Hey TUXs, I just wanted to address this point, and I think sometimes the serious pvp'ers who don't pve much may miss how many tools we use in pve. Changes to resolve aren't an issue, but the cc break, taking less damage while cc'd - yeah, those absolutely will affect pve. There are plenty of times when you get stunned in pve and have to judge when or if to use your stun break and mitigate taking damage while stunned (bonus boss in Hammer Station is an easy example). Ccs, both casting and breaking, are absolutely a part of pve, and if they're going to make a general change to them it will affect pve. Now, if you were going to say take less damage *from players* while stunned then I could see that one not affecting pve. Just my two cents, and I'll leave the advanced pvp strategizing to the experts
