  1. I agree about the mob density. Makes Makeb a particularly unwelcome grind-fest. Maybe higher mob densities is what BioWare means by "added content."
  2. Cartel packs are like a lottery. Lotteries are nothing more than a tax on stupid people who can't math.
  3. Yeah, I'm starting to see this, too.
  4. Play it like a real sniper would. Move for cover. Attack. Leave the position if things start getting tough for you and fall back. Use the high spots and towers when you can. Believe it or not you can jump on a lot of stuff in this game and run up it to work from a height. In Void Star one of my best positions is on top of the shuttle wing. It gives me good sight lines and coverage. There are lots of other places on the other battle grounds as well. Huttballl for example. You have no reason to be anywhere other than the top ramps as a sniper. This also allows you to move from one side of the field to the other while maintaining a decent position. You are a sniper. You work the edges. You have no business being in the middle of fighting mosh pits, haha. Keep playing, fight intelligently, keep yourself geared up, and you are going to see those numbers get better, I promise.
  5. Anyone else getting this message? It said to check the forums but I have found no mention that this particular server might be down. Anyone else having trouble with Harbinger?
  6. It has happened to a lot of people. Check out the Customer Service forums. The community has been stellar in this regard. They have come up with workarounds that sometimes (but not always) work. A lot of people are angry and frustrated and, to one one's surprise, Bioware has been pretty quiet on the issue. But, thanks to the community, they are still trying to find workarounds to help people play. Meanwhile, Bioware has yet to admit they even broke the game with their last patch, and are now down to hoping that 2.0 will correct the fault. So in other words they themselves don't even know how they broke the game, and are hoping that 2.0 will alleviate the problem. Which in itself is not only problematic, but pretty scary and illuminates their incompetence.
  7. I don't like it so I don't play on the weekends. My little boys do, however, so that's when they get to play. I do agree there should be a button so a player can choose whether or not he wants to participate. Some people only get to play on the weekends.
  8. It's not necessarily you, OP. The launcher has been broken for many people since the last patch. Bioware isn't interested in releasing a fix or doing a roll back. They're gambling that when 2.0 is released that will fix the problem. So in other words they broke the game and they don't know how or why, or how to fix it. There are many hints and suggestions in the Customer Service forums, mostly from the community which has been stellar in this regard, while Bioware flounders like a drowning man clutching at a razor blade. Hope you get your game to working. It's a fun game if you can get it to work. We can't, I'm afraid. Some solutions work for some people, some don't work at all. Wish I had better news. All we hear from Bioware is crickets.
  9. Can't log into the game, either since the last patch. None of the fixes work for me. But I can sleep well at night knowing my game is secure.
  10. Gonna be a lot less, I'm afraid, if they can't fix the launcher issue. It might even get down to about two or three players.
  11. Same thing here. Nothing works. Looks like Bioware is hoping that 2.0 can fix a game they broke and don't know how to repair. In other words, business as usual. Meanwhile, they are really up against the wall in losing a lot of justifiably angry and frustrated players. But, meh, they don't care. Their silence on the issue speaks volumes.
  12. Pull your head out of the sand, ostrich. This is more than a minor problem among a minority of the player population. Even Bioware has admitted this is a worrisome problem they can't get a handle on yet, and from their statements I haven't seen ANYTHING coming from them that resembles your "they'll fix it when they fix it" lackadaisical attitude. Even Bioware isn't taking that Laissez faire tack with the launcher problem. It's one thing to defend the game. I defend the game. I like the game. There is a lot to like about it and a lot to defend from irrational haters. There is, however, also a line between defending the game and ignoring verifiable evidence. The game launcher is broken and has been broken since the last patch, and Bioware knows it because they've admitted as much. So the question is, why don't you?
  13. Tote me up on the Hate Board for this clumsiness on Bioware's part as well. Oh, and while I'm at it, can I please ask you guys not to look at my Display Name? 'Cuz that's 50% of my login information right there......
  14. Yes, it's a problem that has been going on since Tuesday, OP. It's not you, it's the broken launcher and so far it appears Bioware has no idea what is causing the problem for so many players. Last I heard posted it seems they are just going to wait for the release of 2.0 to alleviate the problem and there isn't going to be an interim fix. Because, when you get right down to it, it looks as if they really don't mind leaving players who bought and came to the game in good faith twisting in the wind.
  15. So how's that shiny new display name only launcher working out for ya, Bioware?
  16. Anonymity bolsters the courage of computer commandos, OP. It is ever thus with MMOs.
  17. I play male and female characters in all my RPG, OP. No one bugs me about it. It's your game, play it any way you want.
  18. Yup, about two days total now. It's pretty bad and a lot of people are frustrated and angry.
  19. It's a continuing problem. They are supposed to be "working" on it. Bioware. When you absolutely positively need a broken launcher.
  20. Were people who played SWG able to log in? That alone would have put it head and shoulders above this game.
  21. It's almost like he pulled those numbers out of a dark orifice or something.
  22. Welcome to Bioware. When you absolutely positively need a "patch" to break your game...a patch you didn't ask for or want in the first place. Bioware. Their motto is: EXCELLENCE.
  23. Well, it looks like the capability for many players just to log in has been initiated with this newest patch. Heaven knows what we can expect from this top notch organization when 2.0 pops.
  24. How about we make it possible for players to actually log into the game since the patch? That would be a nice start.
