  1. I tell you I always use this spec!
  2. Well, that's actually the most hilarious thing I've heard about TOR pvp
  3. One of the biggest "facepalm" moments was when i played recently a voidstar in lowbie bracket: We're attacking and have just breached the first door set. I've come 1st to right side of the bridge and started capping, positioned myself behind the column, so that defenders running from left door wouldn't be able to interrupt me straight away. When i'm at 4.0s of cap "helper" comes and starts capping while standing in open space. Sure 1-2s later the jugg-defender has come from left side, leaped to him, and smashed interrupting my cap at 7.8-7.9s. Add 4k+ damage to this, and I'm completely frustrated.
  4. you don't need valor to use any currently available gear.
  5. In general it's wrong impression. Although it's often the most effective way to respec to tank/healer for defense in voidstar. If the opponent does this, then your attack is going to be difficult, but even if both weren't able to breach through the first door -> the winner will be defined by kills count, so dps actually matters. And yep, people in worse gear will die much more then geared fellows. The only wz that doesn't really need good dps is huttball. The rest wzs need dps, ninja caps work only occasionally against completely unorganised group.
  6. Sure. But still it's rough estimate. I can't count how many times i was disappointed after inspecting 20k players. Of course if you see 15k player there is no way he's WH geared so he's whether recruit or even worse, but 19-20k does not yet mean that you see a WH-EWH geared player (it might be full pve which is worse then 15k pvp geared player imo).
  7. so the solution is matchmaking system. it can be whatever, not just separation of pugs and premades. Add rating system and 2-3 min delay to make a better balanced wz (no matter pugs or premades are queued) -> bam, and you get more or less equal match. The problem of intentional rating lowering will be existent, but i believe any matchmaking system is going to have its cons, so this particular one is more or less acceptable.
  8. Once they eliminate group vs solo matching, pugs will keep being roflsmomped by other pugs. Lots of people (maybe including OP) will find another reason to complain about.
  9. so 8 tanks in tank gear should probably faceroll everyone?
  10. The least are defo marauder and pt The most are those whom i don't see EDIT: on a serious note though... none should scare since the guard always should report inc. any class can win any duel by luck or by skill, so it's really difficult to compare anything here.
  11. It's more then 50% wins on imp side if you happen to be in group with me It's less then 50% wins if you happen to be in group against me Big joke with a small shade of truth Anyway, the point is although one person cannot win the game they can do big job for it. The worst is getting full random pug against 1-2 premades of good pvp guilds, but no one can assure this won't happen Have fun!
  12. Well, this is not so good as it seems to be. The point is that you can't use seethe on move between nodes. While in pvp sorcs have quite a few possibilities to use consumption during the battle
  13. The problem is completely different actually. They earn medals? I'm glad that they can earn 3-4 medals, while everyone else could already have around 12-14 medals. The real problem is that they do not contribute anything to the team and even more -> if one of those is left to guard a side node, this node is going to be ninjacapped once a stealther notices that stupid guard.
  14. it's one of possible solutions though. Not really bad one for my taste.
  15. Sorcerers sacrifice hp to gain force, hence the point: some would like to avoid using it since it negatively reflects on their score board. Quite stupid, i agree, but if there are plenty of people using self-heal->heal thing instead of fighting, there will be a lot of those who will never use hp sacrifice, thus they will prefer running without force
  16. I see, you disagree to understand my point. Learn to comprehend, none here said that sorc = skill
  17. You say taunt is OP, and it really is decent underused utility. But give it to sorc (lol) and it won't change a lot. Let's just put reasons aside. The most important is the fact that for some classes it's reasonably easier to achieve necessary efficiency
  18. Yes, but all you listed for good pt is almost "everything from the class" with exception of few really easy things to do. I understand that you tried to avoid undervaluation of skill first when you listed "good pt contribution", and personally i too wouldn't dare to give definition of "great sorc contribution" even though i'm probably good one (so i know my mistakes, and I can imagine a perfect sorc contribution, but i admit that my image of perfect sorc can be deficient). I feel i'm lost now time to get back to the point. My question wasn't out of nowhere - things you listed for "good pt" already sound like "great pt" with few made up additions like respecing and stealth scan (things are useful indeed, but not difficult actually). At current state of game i guess many ranked teams will accept a pyro pt simply delivering tons of damage along with grapple uses without smart taunts or anything else. It's still very difficult to fit good ranked team requirements as a dps sorc or merc.
  19. So you switch the guard being a pyro pt, really? As it was already mentioned: playing great is difficult on every class, but playing good is different for all classes. It's comparingly easier to achieve some grade of efficiency on pyro pt and rage warrior then on other classes/specs.
  20. Ok let's try, mister-playing-a-complicated-spec. You've listed 9 skills (lol, you also included 1min cd aoe even though you protest against listing them ). Here are attacks used by madness sorc: 1. affliction 2. creeping terror 3. force lightning 4. death field 5. crushing darkness 6. lightning strike 7. force storm 8. shock Oh my god, it's only 8 attacks. Although you have generously listed things like Yeah, according to your previous commentary you interrupt caping in every battle. So i feel free to add to my list 9. force slow 10. interrupt since they are on 35m range with stalker set bonus. And the last, but not least... Playing sorc is not like your colleague said above ("stand still and force lightning for all eternity"). There are some additional skills sorc have to use all the fight to stay alive: 1. overload 2. static barrier (aka bubble) 3. force speed 4. unnatural preservation Add cleanse, which is sometimes used on 5s cd. I didn't list any 60s+ cd as you asked. And of course i listed only those skills that i and all capable madness sorcs use. There are also a few 60s+ cd skills to use (like friendly pull, without mentioning stun and mezz). I agree that pyro pt can use more then 2 buttons to be more effective, and of course should use. But still if we'll restrict all specs to 2 skills + normal attack -> only pyro pt/assault vg will still be effective. Try to play sorc with 2 buttons and compare.
  21. Yeah-yeah, "force lightning over and over and over again" is exactly "how to play sorc right" lfmao Other stuff is also funny, almost all of these looks funny to me.
