  1. Currently we have Ilum, Belsavis and Corelia with mostly Solo quests and a few heroics 2's and 4's mixed in.

I think it would be cool if you made a planet / zone for lvl 50 daily's that every quest was a hero 2 or hero 4.

It can be a pain to put together a 4 man team just to do 1 daily quest, once the team is together it would be nice to have multiple to tackle in the same location.

  2. Problem is the objective points aren't highest for those stopping turret caps and ball carriers as they are usually actively running around responding to this turret under fire and that one...the guy that stands at the turret from the start, never fights a single player will have higher objective points often times.

I play objectives, don't get me wrong, but their is plenty of times i have had 12k+ objective points and did nothing and plenty of times i had 4k objective points but was the deciding factor stopping a cap at a decisive time. ( i did have a 17k voidstar once cause i planted all the bombs, and got the datacore then we pitched a shutout on D tho, so sometimes the objective points do reflect what happened.)

MVP votes are subjective, myself i try to think of that match and how it went....last night i was playing a healer...the MVP vote in match 1 went to a guy who died a bunch of times....I couldn't keep him alive because i was being focused, while the rest of our team was afraid to push for the objective and hung back in the fields away from the turret trying not to die, this guy actually tried to take the turrets and i tried to heal him.

next match MVP went to a tank who was not just guarding me, but moving his guard around to diff players as they got focused...HE was the reason i was alive to be able to get off my heals and keep others alive....

Next match it went to a player who helped me 2 man defend a node from multiple odd man attacks....

end of the day, MVP is meaningless anyways, I know when i played poorly and when i made decisive plays in a match that helped maintain a lead or spark a comeback.

  3. I would hate to be a dev at Bioware. No matter what they do there will always be complaints about it. This was a good and much needed move that will help out with imbalance some servers. Yes there are plenty of dead servers and that issue going to be handled (not soon enough).

This is a step in the right direction.

    ^^^^^ this

  4. What are you talking about? I love facing equally geared + skilled players. Some of my most memorable matches were prem vs prem.

The problem with the system before was the entire emphasis was around winning, not participation. Game going downhill? Leave and make it someone else's problem. It was the root cause of people leaving matches.

well then you are in luck, now it will be more likely to face equally geared players. Win / win no?

  5. What frightens you that gear is the only edge you can get and is more effective than skill?

I'm think using the old LotRO idea may have been best, mitigate through difference in valour ranks instead of gear, if you kill someone with a higher valour rank than you you get an extra multiplier on your reward, if you kill someone with a lower rank you get a negative multiplier on your reward.

I like to play for a challenge, fighting an ungeared inexperienced player is like playing a 6 year old a chess. Quick and boring.

^^^ This person has it right.

  6. 50 Merc <--3rd server

    50 Commando <--2nd Server

    37 Vanguard <--1st Server

    33 Operative <--3rd server

    27 Shadow <--2nd server

    21 Sorc <--3rd server

    21 Sniper <--3rd server

    18 Sent <--1st server

    17 Sent <--2nd server

    17 Shadow <--1st server

    14 Jugg <---3rd server

    12 Assasin <--3rd server

    11 Scoundrel <--2nd server

    11 Scoundrel <---3rd server

1 Marauder <---3rd server (created last night!)

Obviously you can see why i do not wish to reroll anymore times after trying 3 servers now...

  7. 1. Server merges

I place this at the top because it would solve the most problems in one fell swoop. There are too few players spread out over too many servers, this means that the 4 mans and raid instances get very little use compared to what they deserve. By merging servers the population would be much denser which means higher possibility of grouping and a better hive society where the auction houses, crafters, raiders, hardcore gamers and casuals would thrive due to the increased collection of resources spread out on each server.

    2. Server transfers

Server transfers could potentially help band-aiding the lack of players on each server, but it is not a viable solution over the long term. Personally, it would increase my chances of re-subscribing and I know that is how many people feel. It would also help in bringing players that know each other together instead of having to constantly reroll because some people wanted to try a higher population server (this is only being strengthened by the low-population-too-many-servers ratio).

    3. Improved LFG tool

I have been playing MMOs for almost 10 years. I have played World of Warcraft, Rift, Aion, Guild Wars, Age of Conan, and many more. I have been there since the moment those games came online and I have suffered through months (for some even years) of playing through their baby-period, but at this point it shouldn't feel as bad as a game launched 10 years ago. Over the past 10 years MMOs have grown incredibly with server transfer, server merges, more and more intricate LFG tools, browser purchases of in-game items, cross-server systems, hot fix systems etc. Because of all these advancements I can't bring myself to justify it anymore that a game requires several years to get out, what is now, very basic services and systems.

I am strongly against WoW's LFD and LFR because of the inherent social a**hattery that comes along with it (over-entitlement, ninja looting, no reprecussions, will never see the other players again, and the like), however, right now I have to agree with the pro-LFDers that this is the best course of action for this game. WoW made the mistake of introducing LFD when it was at it's peak of 12 million players, when they should have put it in if they landed on 2-3 million and below. Cross-server systems for grouping only works properly when there are too many servers with too few players, just like how SWTOR is now. I am proud of BioWare for sticking to their guns to keep a decent enough environment and not make the mistake WoW did by introducing this, but that doesn't work with so few players (the need for such a system is substantially increased when there is no server merges, at least as far as we have been told about the things to come in the future).

    Back to the baby-phase.

Since I have gone through it so many times, I personally feel that I can't go through it again and I have only WoW (and in smaller parts Rift) to thank for this horrible state-of-mind I am currently in. Finding groups with so few players is absolutely agonizing (if I try hard to find a group, I'll get one in 10 minutes, but the days I feel up to that are rare and far apart).

    4. Lack of proper communication

BioWare were very active at the start, but recently there have been less and less of communication about time lines, ideas and plans, or any sign at all that they are actually listening aside from that idiotic bot message that pops up on the forums when they close a thread. This is a minor point, but it is frustrating nonetheless.

SWTOR is an absolutely amazing game, great story, great voice acting, great IP, and an absolutely tremendous potential, however there are those little things that is holding so many people back. These 4 things are the only things BioWare has to do to bring myself and many more players back, most likely new players as well.

Points 1 and 2 pretty much cover it for me...WHEN i have people to play with, i love this game. Not rerolling a 4th time however

  8. Assasins of Sion, EST, PVE, Light, Republic side....10-15 players, fleet

Lord Praven, PST, PVE Medium, Republic side....20-40 players, fleet

Empress Teta, PST, PVE, Medium, Imperial side....10-25 players fleet.

My general play times are 5pm - 10pm MST to take these samples. Some days are better, some are worse. I rarely play on the 1st 2 servers now, so my samples, might be a tad off....but that's approx what it has been the last few weeks.

I should note all these servers were 80-100 at fleet when i started on them. I am done rerolling.

  9. Legacy...

    I really dig 2 features:

    • Fully self-buffed when I hit chapter 2 on 4 classes.
    • Cross-faction mail between my characters.

The rest of it I really don't give a flying banana about, especially the insanely high prices for all of the credit-only unlocks.

Failure? I don't know about that, but it's probably not compelling enough for the effort that went into creating it. Hopefully BioWare has more interesting stuff on the way or they'll get more realistic on the prices.

I am sure others may have more use for Legacy, but for me, this is it, and if / when i hit legacy 25, i will get the neutral GTN in my ship.

Since they can do metrics to determine packs of operatives stunlocking people to cause Un-subs, wonder if they can figure out how many of the population actually bought any of those Legacy unlocks. I know I didn't...yippee 1 minute of quick travel for 100k! make it 5 minutes, or 10 minutes, sure, but 1 minute??

  10. Nope. June-August. Look it up.

The Western definition based on solstice to equinox is more frequently used where a temperature lag of up to half a season is common.[5] In North America, summer is often the period from the summer solstice (usually June 20 or 21 in the Northern Hemisphere) to the autumn equinox.[6][7][8][9] Unofficially, the U.S. summer season is commonly regarded as beginning on Memorial Day weekend (the last weekend in May) and ending on Labor Day weekend (the first weekend in September), more closely in line with the meteorological definition.

^^^ so Bioware can choose whichever definition they want, neither are fast enough. They have had 5 months and it has been 2 months at least since the major drop in pops.

  11. Check out some options here:

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=119938

I haven't handled these things myself, so I can't give you details on how to acquire them.

The C-303 Assault Rifle is short but beefy. Same with the Recon Carbine. My operative uses the Stealth-X Saboteur, but I don't remember where I got it.

^^^ the C-303 is what my Vanguard uses, nice short blaster rifle that seems to make a bit more sense pressed into the chests of your enemy hehe. Can't remember where i got it, might have been a heroic 4 reward, but i know i got it fairly early, so at lvl 26 you should be able to find it.

  12. As a sniper (in 10-49 bracket)

Stay in Cover, Ambush as he runs up to you for knock back, root in place, your crit snipe skill, followed by the snipe, throw in your probe explosive thing at some point, as he should now be getting close to you again, your shiv stun skill (debilating strike i think?)...Maybe get a corrosive darty on him sometime at the front of the sequence to get soem DOT damage rolling.

anyway you get the point....the above is not the precise methodology, just what approx i have been doing with reasonable success on my 20 sniper.

  13. i am currently playing both my ops and my sniper concurrently. The ops is 28 (DPS) and the sniper 20. Love both play styles "now" originally i hated the cover system, but once i got my hotbars set up and used to it, its kind of cool now. I started a Smuggler to try Healing with as well.

Pretty much shelved my 50 Merc and 50 commando to play these alts now.

  14. I would Q for an unrated match, wait for 45 minutes, and then when the system couldn't fill a two team pug match, myself and 4 other puggers would get matched against the *ONE SINGLE 8 MAN RANKED PRE-MADE ON THE SERVER* and proceed to get smashed.

Then I would log out and go play Skyrim.

    lol....sad....and likely true :p
