  1. I despise Theran to the point of not wanting to play my consular anymore, yet he is by far the best companion. It's actually making the game not fun for me to constantly hear his stupid catch phrases over and over. Please, letting us swap companion roles would be awesome. I would rather use someone like Qyzan (for one thing, he doesn't talk during combat) but I am in no need of his skill. I need a healer. Ugh, it looks like I am going to have to reroll, and to choose my class entirely on which companion useful to the class is least irritating. Or just buff our armor/dps by 25% if we are solo with no companions so we don't have to use one.
  2. I always thought the levels shown were friendly suggestions, to help guide new players to the appropriate planets. You know... like in every other game? It's absurd if people are being banned for going there. I'd be inclined not to believe it, but with some of the choices Bio has been making, I wouldn't be surprised.
  3. OMG YES!!!!!!!!! Make the galaxy map accessible in the Starport, with a button to go to your ship included. I am so tired of having to run through tons of loading zones every time I switch planets. More than anything else this is my #1 issue. The game is mostly great otherwise, but this really grinds my gears.
  4. They're going to add it in a few months from now. Would've been nice if it had been in at launch.
  5. I am getting the same issue, and I've no idea why. I always complete the optional objectives, so it can't be that. Sometimes I'll get a few thousand xp and a token, other times practically nothing. The yellow and above quests pretty consistantly give high xp though. I'm always sure to do those once a day.
  6. I want to lean toward this being a troll, if only to retain some faith in humanity.
  7. It's indeed weird that a lot of real names are forbidden considering the star of the movies was named Luke. And I've always imagined Han being short for Henry.
  8. Darkfall had that too, though the game was kinda crap. I'd like a central RP meeting area that is always packed with RPers at all hours of the day, like the prancing pony inn from LOTRO.
  9. And yet where is he referred to as Han Skywalker? Aside from slash fiction, absolutely nowhere. And what about cross faction? Would you consider Boba Fett part of the "Skywalker legacy?" Jabba? Palpatine? The Rancor?
  10. That's because LOTRO and Turbine understand and care about roleplaying. Bioware doesn't seem to have a clue.
  11. There are people who intentionally avoid getting social points? Why? Even if you're not looking to use any of the gear or items, the points don't hurt you. Why would someone actively try to avoid them? Or did you mean they drop group to prevent others from getting them?
  12. This should have been in at release.
  13. I've heard only Empire gets purple through PvP. Republic has to raid. *sighs* I suppose I'm fortunate in that I love my yellow crystal. I love small group missions but I hate raids.
  14. I would imagine the +points are + to your skill level. So if you have, say, 100 archeology and your companion has +15, your mission success rate would be as if you had 115 skill.
  15. Yay, dual specs are confirmed! And the anti-dual spec crowd can just choose not to use it if they don't like it. Adding a feature isn't taking anything away from anyone's gameplay, if you only want 1 spec, only have 1 spec.
  16. There's one piece that vaguely reminds me of Mount & Blade's theme. I can see the Star Trek similarity too. Not a huge problem though, I like how it sounds.
  17. I understand why it's there. I'd like it not to be there. I'm fine with a tank spec in PvP, but I feel for the raid healers who want to dps on occasion. I suspect a lot of people shy away from builds that are not solo or PvP viable for this reason. Having more tanks and healers is a GOOD thing.
  18. Why not? I could in Rift. I could in a lot of other games too. Allowing players to have multiple roles is a good thing, because it allows for diversity in play. I also feel it helps make players better, since if a primary healer gets to play dps too, s/he may come to better understand dps players and how they work. This would certainly be a useful thing to learn for PvP, and probably for PvE as well.
