  1. Did they not plan that all active accounts on origin servers would move to the predetermined destination servers? They already stated that if half of a guild moved, don't worry the rest would be allowed to move later, so they must plan on keeping the current pairs opened for some length of time. Seems like they could do the math on the remaining servers and make the call on whether to open new servers or not. I work in SQL every day. Data mining is relatively straightforward.

  3. There have been many posts about this subject even since launch, but it might bear repeating with the server transfers going on currently. The old answer was an easy one: roll 8 on one server and the other 8 on a different server. Many people took this approach, and all was well...until both of the servers they split their toons up on became part of the same origin/destination server pair. Now they have 8 toons each on 2 different 'dying' servers and only one 8-slot home for all 16 of them. If for no other reason than this, please, please, please allow us to buy/unlock/whatever more character slots.

  5. They said they transferring characters would not be available for play during the transfer, which should take "a few hours", though based on customer volume they can't guarantee that. This seems fairly typical of other MMO character transfers that I've seen. I'd imagine we'll log into the transfer webpage, select our character(s) for transfer, and then in-game they will appear as "locked" or something to that effect until the transfer is complete. Also, I've seen it in other games where the transfer will not even start if you are logged into your account, which I hope will not be the case here,
  6. As much I really, really want to know the server list as well, I can see why they are not releasing the list early. As soon as they did I would go park all the names I wanted on the destination server, and if everyone else did this too, it could add more work/potential issues with name resolutions, etc.

  8. Purple might be much rarer in Mace's time, which is 3000 years give or take from TOR's current time.
  9. I really doubt lvl 53 greens are going to be better than BH gear. If you go by current rankings, I'd say rakata is like lvl 53 gear and campaign is lvl 55 roughly. So if you want lvl 60 equivalent gear (the new ops tier gear), then yes, you'll have to go out and work for it, which will be required for the highest level of operations/nightmare modes I'd imagine.
  10. They will also have to increase the number of character slots if they are going to merge servers. If you have five 50's on two servers being merged, they cannot just force you to choose which 2 will be deleted (well, of course they can, but the interwebz might explode). Some altoholics like myself might even have more than that. Granted, I'd much rather have all of my toons on one server anyways for the legacy perks, etc.
  11. These are still all great ideas, and would be wonderful improvements to helping control and utilize companion abilities.

  16. Thank you for asking for more feedback on this subject. Here are my thoughts on useful additions to the current UI customizability, more or less in order (for my playstyle at any rate): 1) Display accurate keybind text on quick bar slots. Currently [alt+1] and [alt+numpad 1] both display as " a+1 ". I would much rather see the [alt+numpad 1] display as " a+Num1 " or " a+N1 ". 2) More quickbars (already in the works it seems...THANK YOU). Adding a few more would be fantastic. 3) Ability to move/scale buffs and debuffs separately. 4) The ability to display quickbars with more than 12 slots. Reducing slots on one bar to add the 'extra' ones to another would be acceptable, i.e. 5 bars laid out in a 6x2/14x1/14x1/1x10/1x10 configuration. 5) The ability to move/scale/turn off the portraits and/or disconnect them from the health bars, etc. 6) Allow the scaling/moving of other UI elements such as chat window(s), map, etc. 7) Allow multiple selections to be moved in the UI editor at the same time ala holding down shift/ctrl or dragging a selection area with the mouse. 8) Provide some form of snap-to or grid alignment mechanism for UI element placement. Being able to adjust elements with arrow keys 1px at a time would be great too. 9) Allow for scaling amounts greater than 1.25 in the UI editor. These values can be currently set larger via editing the xml files, but it would be useful to make these adjustments in game. 10) Make the Cover bar its own UI element / keybindings. 11) Ability to change the skill slot assignment/keybinding for both the companion bar and for the space mission bar. 12) Please, Please, please provide some way to associate keybind profiles with UI layouts and/or provide a way to save/import them from one layout/character to another. 13) Allow the UI elements to be skinned with custom gfx/fonts via xml or some other way.
  17. It is extremely hard to browse the GTN at the moment. If you select something like Category=Armor, Subcategory=Heavy Armor, the search button will not illuminate and become clickable. Changing level range does not change this. It seems like the only things that will let you use the Search button is by specifying a partial name, or a rarity level (other than 'any'). I can only assume it has something to do with this morning's patch note:
  18. Sounds like a bug to me. I'd do an in-game ticket and have them explain it to you. All I can say is that for all of the cubes I've made, order did not make a difference, at least pre-1.2. Plus they are not identified as "station #1", etc., so how could you possibly know where to start?
  19. Wait, do you mean BW is going to do the same thing as Blizzard? But so many people in this thread are complaining that BW needs to wake up an do what Blizzard does....you can't possibly be right... /endsarcasm
  20. They would have to increase character slots before they can even think about server merges. People's heads will explode if they are forced to decide which 8 toons to keep and which 8 to delete (assuming you had 8 toons each on both servers that were being merged).
  21. Yup, a brief extension would be great in my book. To keep it still special I would not extend it for more than a week, though.

  23. yup, aug-slotted orange items are selling for ridiculous amounts on the GTN, at least on my server. I've also never had any trouble making money off of my artifice and synthweaving crafting even before the 1.2 RE buff. Not tons of crazy profit, but a nice steady stream to make it worthwhile. I also find a good market for low & mid-range blues, purples, and oranges that many folks don't seem to bother with.
  24. You need to finish your class story first. Just follow all the class missions and you will be sent to the right NPCs.
