  1. And what I and other lvl 50's have said several times is that even if you are lvl 50, there is nothing to buy the GTN is dry when it comes to crafting materials. And yes I have also said that I could send my companions out to get materials wait 1 hour, see that its the wrong kind of material, send them out again wait an hour etc, but thats not really how I would expect crafting to be in a game as new as this, in older games at least you would have some control over what resourses you were gathering and yes you would spend a lot of time on that also but at least you knew what you were getting. I have several lvl 50 friends and they have the excact same problem as me, so I know it has noting to do with my rank. This is one of the hardest MMO's I have played to make credits in and I am a crafter, there is something seriously wrong with that...
  2. I do not want to buy crafting materials from vendors; this would drive the price of crafted items down even more. What the game needs is to rewards players more cash for doing missions so they can afford to buy the crafted items from the exchange, and stop rewarding them with all the gear they need as they level up so that the gear on the GTN don’t lose their value. The game should also be easier to gather resources from so that more players will post crafting resources on the GTN for sale driving prices down to a reasonable price. Another thing that is wrong with the GTN is that it recommends a set value for an item no matter what price the players on that server sells them for, it should at least be the median of the last week or months sale prices of such items. I really wish it was true what you said about lvl 50's alts buying low lvl stuff because I have tried to sell everything from low lvl chars like green and blue droid gear, potions and buffs, purple ear pieces, armour, weapons, etc and I sell 5-10% of what I make the rest I end up selling to a vendor or scrapping for parts...
  3. You mention the speeders no longer being bind on pickup. Yes this is true but as I pointed out a bit earlier the lvl 25 bike costs about 20k to craft if you buy the materials, at the vendor the same bike costs 8k. The purple lvl 50 bike costs 145k to craft if you buy the materials, and actually sells for 225 if im not mistaken from the vendor so here you have a chance to make a bit of profit if you could sell it for 150-200k, but others on the server sells them for 140k thus they loose 5k per sale. Yes it would be cheaper to go gather the materials yourself but if you want to make any profit as a crafter you need to be able to buy the materials for less then what you can sell the item for. There is to little materials to buy and to many selling cheap stuff.
  4. All i took from that post was you calling me dumb for playing the game my way.
  5. Well I'm sure that you might get a few items at lvl 50 that I can't get at lvl 35, but thats not really the point. There is no one selling crafting materials on the server I am on, and there is no one buying the items I am selling, yes I am crafting lvl 50 purple gear with augment slots but they just expire and expire day after day even thogh I try to sell them for just 10-20k more then what it costs to craft the item... Crafting in one way or another should be worth while, and I have several guild mates with lvl 50 chars that is struggeling with the same problem I am. There is just no one buying the items we craft and there is no profit in it to support us continuging to do it.
  6. Very good points you have, this would really help the crafters, and we could maybe go back to making a few credits again instead of wasting our time on stuff everyone already know how to do. I love crafting more then grinding a char, and if it was really hard and took a long time i'd much rather do that then know how to make everything and not make a profit like it is now.
  7. This is actually a pretty good idea And they could use the same prinsipple for bikes, guns, etc...
  8. I have no problem with gathering my own materials its almost the only way I am able to craft. But its a very slow process and it does not change the fact that there is no profit in it. I look at the prices of an object by what the GTN users have put them up for when there is actually any materials on the GTN, but there is almost no materials there anymore. And I never said I wanted to do what a lvl 50 can do, all I want is to be able to make crafting pay off somehow so I can hand out freebees to my guild mates without having to worry about not having enough credits left to be able to send my companions out on a gathering mission...
  9. I had 10 items expire yesterday that had the Augment Slot available to them, and they were all priced around 20 - 40k each... so whoever said that I could sell armour and equipment with augment slots for several hundred thousand I would really like to know what server you guys are on... Not that I'm going to actually use that server as I have all my friends on my current one but I'm curious where you guys are that people have so much more EC then what we do...
  10. I play on a PvE server, I don't want to PvP to get gear, so I did not understand what this had to do with the original post?
  11. The fact that my highest lvl char is only 35 should not have anything to do with not being able to make a profit off crafting. I have no problem making lvl 50 gear as my crafters are maxed out at 400, yes they can’t make everything purple yet, but I can make a fear bit of purple items... I have crafted purple lvl 50 gear and what it costs me in crafting materials is more than what they sell for on the market. because there is no crafting mats to find in the market and people selling the same gear in the market are selling the same items for less than what you buy the materials for once you find them. Purple items (implants, earpieces, droid upgrades, bikes, armor with augment slots, etc) expire on the market before they sell making me have to repost them 2-3 times before I give up trying to sell that item. I have also made a lot of buffs and potions for all levels and noting sells even at market suggested prices... The only thing i can think of that also is a reason for stuff not selling is that the quest rewards and drops are not that great when it comes to credits. People just cant afford to buy anything at a low lvl. And the fact that we have to pay 600k, 1 mill, 2 mill etc for guild bank tabs is really discouraging when you make 10-20k off a sale on a good day. No other MMO I have ever played has paid off so little for the crafters.
  12. I'm glad to see that some of you agree with me. I don't really see how the ones that think I should find another game is helping, by not addressing this issue you are shooting yourself in the foot, so to speak. If the crafting system is not improved, less people will bother with crafting and you get less of the nice gear you all want so badly. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get some really nice crafted gear for your chars and companions as you level up and not just at lvl 50, and some really nice buffs and potions to go with it? Yes they made the speeder bikes not bind on pickup now, but why should i craft one that costs me 12600 in materials when they sell the same in the store for 8000?
  13. First of all I play on a PvE server. I also spend most of my time crafting instead of leveling, I got the game when it came out and my highest level character is 35. The change that has been done lately to the game has seriously nerfed the crafting of the game. Since the PvP gear is better than the crafting gear, players strip the PvP gear down and take what they need and sell the rest. Crafted gear should always be better than PvP gear especially on a PvE server... I have 5 different chars doing crafting and I am making little to no profit from it, on other games I have played I would craft and be able to hand out crafted items to guild members without worrying about being able to afford sending my companions out for more crafting materials. Also the time something stays on the GTN is not enough to sell the items, there is also no crafting material to be found on the GTN as the number of players have dropped on the servers. Also I have a crafter doing Biochem, what reason do I have to make potions and buffs when no one can use them except the persons that already have biochem? I also hear from the higher levels that they get better equipment from doing Flashpoints, PvP & PvE that what is craftable, is this true? What is the point of doing crafting in this game?
