  1. Although I agree with you to a point, I think checking DPS is probably more important in a raid situation. Most of the HM Bosses don't have a particularly unforgiving enrage except for the Bonus bosses whick can be a little tighter, but are just bonuses. My concern with in game raid meters is that they could foster a negative atmosphere for DPS who are trying and who just don't quite get it, or people trying to perfect a new class, or would lead to some unecessary elietism and kickings of sufficient, but not max DPS. In the situation that you described the probablem was just as easily discovered by checking the guy's gear, and no meter was really needed.
  2. Yeah, it's a problem with BT. The thing is most people who have done it a thousand times on alts don't want to watch it again. I really don't think it's fair to demand that people skip on story mode though, so if someone wants to watch I normally just remind the other guy that it is SM and that there are new people. People can stay or go as they like, no one is forcing anyone else to stay, and if one or two people drop it's just as easy to complete with companions.
  3. For a little added satisfaction run Scum and Villany and hope that you get sucked into a 'nightmare' and dirty kick him to oblivion. I'm pretty sure that half of my guild mates are rolling female smugglers just for this reason.
  4. I always leave feeling pretty good when something goes wrong, or a non-standard meathod is attempted and we still pull through. Of course the unexpected perfect run can be a nice surprise, but they get boring sometimes. ^^
  5. Ah! Yes that does make a lot of sense then, especially when considering how vain that character is. Oddly enough, this plot point is why I am convinced that the SI is also a human.
  6. Another small companion one from the consular/ trooper line
  7. I played a female inquisitor right to the end and I can't remember this at all. Could you spoiler tag it for me? Not knowing is really going to bother me!
  8. Yeah that should be the one, but I've never been able to cleanse it. Not that that's a big deal. xD
  9. I don't remember that dot being cleanseable, but that might be a difference with scoundrels and sages. ^^ Normally I just watch the health bars, and precast when I see someone with the debuff. If I'm being dumb or distracted, or if someone is takin unnecessary damage during that time, it can be a surprising pain to recover from.
  10. This one was really disappointing for me. LI was by far my favourite flash point, and I particularly enjoyed pugging and completing it with people who had never finished it before. It was always really nice when those players realised that it wasn't as hard as everyone made it out to be. Seems like a waste of resources now, but maybe one day we can get a scaled to 55 NiM version.
  11. For the first boss it might not have been the healer. That fight can go either way, where it can be solo healed, or if the rest of the party is consistently getting swiped it will become a lot more challenging. Not saying that that was definitely the case, but it is more than possible.
  12. Honestly Slafko, your method is fine for a guild run, or a lucky pug run where everyone knows what they're doing. However, if I am with a tank like you I'll start following after you only until I realize that the DPS are being left behind. Once that happens I'm doubling back to help the teammates who might want to work as a group. Obviously you're God's gift to the game and are clearly just being nice by getting everyone else coms and gear. In that case you would be much better off soloing it and not being held back by three other people.
  13. What really bothers me about the SI Tionese/Columi/Rakata stuff is that it is some of the only models that change depending on gender, and I think that the male versions look much more complete, and thought out. There are a few others, some sentinel/Mara pieces and what seems like a ton of SI light armor that does the same thing. I don't mind the mid drift, but I'd really like to be able to get a 'complete' version of these for my SI as well. *sigh*
  14. Not such a big deal/it's kind of nice in HM, though it can be a bit of a pain when I que up for one for something to do, then get tV and skip everything. I'm leveling an alt now though, with a class/roll that I have no experience with. It can be very very frustrating when people insist on skipping everything. Not only do I want the gear to make leveling faster, but I really want the experience with the new class, and learn how to play properly. I mean skipping a few trash packs isn't a big deal but I'd like to at leaf try the harder pulls. Plus there is really no reason to boss skip on sm tV. I mean do you really want those 5 Balmorra coms that badly?!
  15. Thank you Selentar. That was fantastic. I could really hear Ashara's voice while reading that piece! I want to know more about your inquisitor now!
  16. I play as a sawbones so I might be able to help you out with at leat some of your questions. First, I don't think that it's fair to say that scoundrels don't compare to sages. Sages tend to be preferable to taking care of raid wide damage due to their freaking awesome aoe heal, but scoundls are more mobile which can be useful in some fights, and do well as a single target healer. Any of the three classes can do pretty well at any of the jobs though. I don't know much about hybrid specs since the only time I use them are when I'm farming low level WB to gear out alts, or in the occasional wz. With pvp I might spec far enough to get the medpac mastery skill (to help proc upper hand), but I wouldn't recommend healing end game as a hybrid. :-/ I dunno, emergency medpac is probably one of my favourite things in the world, and while the aoe isn't strictly necessary it can be very useful. When a group is easy to heal, and I feel like dpsing I do find that it's easier to do so at melee range (as a fully specced sawbones)since I normally just cycle through back blast, blaster whip and the occasional sabotage charge or flyby. If you do like more ranged or dot based attacks you might be able to come up with a cool sawbones/dirty fighting hybrid. Again I don't know how useful it would be for end game healing. I do find dpsing as a scoundrel can be kind of clunky... That might just be me not knowing what I'm doing though. Honestly I think that if you're interested in range dps/healing, a sage may be the way to go. They are a fully ranged class, whereas a scoundrel is very melee based, and from what I hear can switch back and forth pretty easily! That said healing as a scoundrel is crazy fun, so if you want to do pure healing is recommend it whole heatedly!
  17. Yeah, a part of me would really like to see them added. Then I remember that it's hard enough to get a groupbthat can work well enough together to pug LI... Trying to get lucky with a group of 8 for EC would probably lead to more frustration than anything else.
  18. I don't know if that's the right attitude. Tanks already seem to think that they can get away with whatever they want just because they're tanks. Sometimes people need to tell them that they're wrong too...
  19. Is it possible that you were not at full health' either due to the wipe or because someone cast the endurance buff? If that were the case and the healer was actually healing something and not just using the attack I think that it would pull aggro. At least I feel like I've accidentally pulled that way before xD.
  20. It really depends on the group, and the content, and the level of skill of the new player. Maybe in a full out pug group where nobody is really sure of one anothers' skill it would make sense to be hesitant about taking someone who is clearly under geared. A more confidant, over geared, guild group, filling a few spots might be more willing to give it a go. I can understand not wanting to take someone in 40 greens or whatever (recruit+ tionese is free and as far as I know the recruit gear can be equipped by f2p players playing with artifact equipment restrictions), but someone in their tionese gear at Lear knows where to start, and could potentially be a fresh alt of a really good player. I mean I've been (and on some stuff still am) pulled through content that I wouldn't have had the chance to experience otherwise, and now that I have better gear and a stronger understanding of the fights I don't mind returning the favor and doing the pulling. I think that it's at least partially helpful to the community, and increases the pool of players who will be able to activley complete content later on (but only of there is some teaching involved at the same time). That said I can sympathize with the people who don't appreciate the expectation that they have to do just that. It is group content and its not really fair to hinder the other people by expecting them to pull you if you're not at least trying your best.
  21. I find EV and KP SM the easiest; they drop columi gear and can be a good way to get used to the larger groups. EV/KP HM are the second easiest. I find that they can be easily pugged, but still might pose some problems to an untrained group. They drop Rakata. Either EC or TFB would be the next step up. Although they drop the same gear as EV and KP HM, they are more mechanics heavy and would require better coordination. These would probably be the best ones to start with. EC HM drops campaign, and TFB HM drop Dreadguard, but I wouldn't recommend these until you have better gear, and more experience.
  22. I dunno, I've had a few marauders force leap just as he was going over the edge. They've assured me that he is in fact dead.
  23. It counts for the daily hard mode quest, but not the weekly.
  24. It's your run and you can take whomever you like, but honestly 1800 seems a little high. I mean TFB/EC SM shouldn't need BH gear to accomplish. I've seen people with 1200 mainstat pull off some crazy dps, and honestly a person with lesser gear who knows the fights would probably be preferable . Plus if you guys are geared for the HMs anyhow:o, bringing a slightly lesser geared player shouldn't be a problem as long as he isn't hindering the group in any way.
  25. If you are basing it on companions, the inquisitor also gets Ashara who only seems to fit with a light sided master. As for the consular, Qyzen likes to fight, but he seems to be more honorable and doesn't really approve of hunting weak prey either.
