  1. You mean like Italian, German, French, English, Malay-Indonesian, Turkish, Polish? Yeah arguing will go nowhere though cos I know it's a pretty common misuse, just annoying lol.
  2. The continent is called South America on any map I have seen... I know a little Latin, and it's, ah, it's not Spanish
  3. The Progenitor seems to be the place to be.
  4. Big discussion here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=51444&page=10
  5. I understand what you mean, Someone get's power and then we have a dictatorship chaos on our hands if it all goes wrong. However, i feel that it's better to start something up then just sitting aidle and wait for bioware to do someting they most likley wont do, that's why i started up my forum, i dipped into my christmas bonus to buy a Vbulletin license, a vbulletin skin, have a logo made among more things just to help the community out in the way i can do it. Yeah I see your point but threads for the different servers work just as well really, the thing is when people move away from the official site they will find that less people actually have time to check many different competing (sometimes financially, ick) websites and so advertising for events etc means the majority of people still using the official forums just don't hear about it. And with the nature of them being ran by individuals that have not been vetted in any way, there's simply no way to know who to trust til something bad happens like censoring based on personal opinions, bannings based on guild vendettas, etc - compared to the official ones where there is oversight from the rest of the company on moderator actions and we have avenues of complaint. You sound ok, but all too often they are set up by boys just wanting to have power over people, it's the same mentality as a lot of guild leaders which is why I tend to avoid guild dramas and make lots of friends independently instead. But yeah, that long post I linked is best to read, I'll just end up repeating myself otherwise hehe Yeah, that is really it really. I don't know why they stickied this and it's a bit disappointing...
  6. I am hoping it was just turned down for the opening day, we'll see though I guess - They do actually have one already, just turned off at the moment See my signature for what to put in google to search though, it's a workaround but updates much slower obviously
  7. The Vatican should have a server? The Roman Empire? Italy? It makes me sigh when so many Americans don't even KNOW the real meaning of the word Latin, grr.
  8. Look at how many posted out of how many people are using THESE forums. And yes, it's more than slightly hypocritical to use the mods as your weapon against people who dissent by making false reports for spamming (posting the same reply in DIFFERENT threads is not spamming, in fact it's what the mods do themselves when there's multiple threads on the same issue to try help direct people), then actually going and full-on spamming yourself, not double-posting, but QUADRUPLE-posting? Posting messages for the sole purpose of bumping is also against the board rules - if you were just adding content you could use edit.. You know this, of course, you just deliberately choose to spam to try get more attention because you want people to leave here and join your website and have discussions under your control...
  9. Please stop spamming. The reason no one is registering is because the majority of us are perfectly happy with these forums....
  10. I hope the mods learn how to use the move posts/merge thread option under Thread Tools ather than just close this one with all the replies on it, cuz that would be sad Happy xmas all Check out the thread here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=74625&page=11
  11. Short answer, not really if you want to RP, on PVP servers you pretty much vae to PVP and imagine the RP as you go along because people who stand around talking are the ones who die. I made a big post about this there, there's a whole thread about it http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=51444&page=10
  12. Oh I forgot to mention, yeah, there's the webform, but also usually in the game it's easier to report ingame with the ? button at the top of the screen, to the right end of the topmenu then Create ticket there - that should help people who can't alt-tab, too (with Windows 7 I never have any problem alt-tabbing though it seems like they designed it quite nicely to detect when you are alt tabbing and turn the graphics off too, it does a 2-second refresh thing with a miniloading screen when you alt-tab back in) I took a screenshot before of some aggressive trolls on Progenitor (because I dared mention that it's pointless to have separate RP channels): http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/3568/trolsonrpempire.jpg <-- I highlighted where the ? button is for sending a GM report in Am I just missing how Skysword would violate anyone's idea of a Star Wars appropriate name or did you mean to type something else? That's a sentence not a name, and I guess they mean Skywalker sword, would come under the "You may not use misspellings or alternative spellings of names that violate any of the above rules, e.g. Hamsolo, Yooda, DorthVader." I think?
  13. If you go to http://www.swtor.com/community/profile.php?do=editoptions you can change to "No email notification" which automatically subscribes (bookmarks) a thread when you reply (there's also an option whenever you reply if you want to do it that way too with emails or whatever, just change either how you want, if you scroll all the way down), after that they appear on http://www.swtor.com/community/subscription.php (the speech bubble icon always at the top of the screen on the forums)
  14. I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic hence my emoticons. I think. Probably.
  15. I totally agree, I posted some stuff in the other threads but it was deleted because they apparently don't like duplication, I made a big post here instead: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=67106&page=2
  16. Awwwwh..... That was beautiful. Hope you keep writing, since finding out I couldn't play a Twi'lek it made me interested in why not, I read more about them and then got annoyed! http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=71964 - I'd love to see more stuff, it seems like there's a lot of rich stuff to work with there. They're talking about ideas for Twi'lek names here that would be useful for writing: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=76913 *hugs* Hope maybe the christmas thread will lighten your mood: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=74625&page=11 Seriously - just wonderful.
  17. I hope the wikis all work together and stop competing, unfortunately it seems money has started to enter the equation with people selling ads They are doing this, including some rather unethical big companies like ZAM which allows goldfarmer ads, and companies and individuals still are doing this despite the fact that fragmenting the community for profit not actually being very profitable, look at Wikia, it's a failure commercially - the only reason Jimmy Wales is rich is because of his speaking hires. Personally I think http://www.evil-wizards.org/swtor-wiki -- http://www.torwiki.com -- http://tor.zam.com/wiki -- http://www.wikiswtor.com -- http://swtor.wikia.com ------ > to ------ > http://www.torwiki.org ideally, but other than them owning a more convenient domain name for people, the problem is the whole ownership thing and money being involved due to the owners running ads things are icky and conflicts of interest have started happening - people running many different websites don't really want what's best for the community.
  18. O_o -.- *that moment when you try think of the most inappopriate ship* Vette/Jack from mass effect 2? I think they woud annoy each other to death it'd be so cute.

I hope Bioware sets up an official wiki that is RP-friendly, please?
  20. I'm not even christian, but it's nice to see The Other Other C-word in the post, it makes me think of Father Christmas rather than Santa Coca-Cola And A Christmas Carol. I think it's gone beyond religion. (I have to admit being from the UK it's probably a cultural thing though that "happy holidays" seems a bit Stepford Wives forced) Merry Christmas, Solstice and Yuletide to us all, every one.   And try help others less fortunate than you if you can! Thank you Bioware for the lovely story stuff in the game it's really refreshing and I hope it carries on being more friendly to social players than other games! An improvement in the chat system making it more usable less clutter and chat between servers and less segregation with instances instead of servers would be a great present for all more social players :)
  21. I don't consider the "That Which Has No Life" (nearly always a) guys that has spent a bazillion hours and a gazillion cash (not even bought from goldfarmers, also often the type that actually cares more about numbers than playing the game) deserving of having any kind of reputation other than well, somewhat sad. I don't want to be in that kind of community where the people that do the best are those that have spent the most time than anything else. :/ Maybe this comes from having started off in things like Quake 3 and Savage the Battle for Newerth when I was little though (used to be in one of those notorious girl gaming clans ) as well as the stuff mentiond previously above... I just don't really find fights that are about "ganking" people with less stuff than you fun. "I want to feel adrenaline coming out of my ears and your blood on my lips..." (In RP, In RP, i swear) If there was an option as described in my previous post above to enable more consensual RP, with the option to handicap or boost individuals and arrange fights between people, it would be much more fun (and also much more RP friendly when people are not the same amount of level etc as they would be in their RP - as long as it's all consensual between people agreeing to fight, why not?). I'd love to see an option that equalised skills and gear so that it's more like the kind of actiony fun in DC online's Legends mode where no one has any advantages, it's about being better with what is available. And I think "PVE" servers are best suited for this. I think the idea of there being a huge separation with ALWAYS pvp or NO pvp to be a stupid and outdated one that seems like it was copied straight from Warcrap without trying to innovate!
  22. I do love the idea of more people trying to play together on one server (at least for US and EU/other timezones, though only because of the unavoidable issue of 5-9 hours being a big timezone difference for playing sadly). I said this on another post (linked below)! I really hope people do not move to hide away on fan-sites and let the community become more cliquish and less open. We have a very nice RP forum here, as well as an IC forum even (TWO! rp forums!) with at least 20 paid moderators - something a lot of people in other games would kill for. Use this and the IC one inside this forum, or lose them!
  23. Global channels Get rid of multiple servers and use the servers to have switchable instances of zones instead Less number and names and arcade-ish green bars etc spam • Chat bubbles so it becomes more feasible to close more of the number-focused spam-windows: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=15839
  24. I really hope they bring official server forums (and hopefully a wiki) here, I have posted a big reply on these issues here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=67106&page=2 - Much better would be less separation between players so there would not be a need to segregate and fragment the community in the first place, but til then yes, official server forums are really needed so people running fansites don't destroy the community by pulling people away!
