  2. I ran a spec like this for a long time. It's a good spec. I think Oozo ran a spec like this a while ago as well.
  3. For me, it's the survivability cooldowns and buffs - for a DPS class. I don't mind them doing good damage but it is the combination overall.
  4. It gives you the ability to use crit crafted gear in 5 slots, provided you reach the valor pre-req. Same as the WH set. However, the set bonus on BM doesn't transfer. So... in an endgame sense, it really gives you the BM appearance with aug slots however slotting in WH armoring, in an ideal world. Some people, for example, like the Trooper Supercommando appearance.
  5. A rolling set of frequently available defensive abilities allow the fight to be extended. One of the abilities allows the fight to be extended a long time even under focus. When seconds matter in WZ, it's all too much. They also have good group buffs. If Sent/Mara hit like a wet noodle, you'd say that's fine bc they had the defensive abilities. But they hit hard. So it's a highly survivable high DPS class with utility, hence the calls for nerfs.
  6. I like it because it almost never gets outdated and it creates a desire to play WZ again and again.

Just curious whether or not some additional competitive style stats will be recorded on your PVP character window and coming from Rated in 1.3: Win/Loss Ratio Website rankings for most wins, highest win/loss ratio Highest hit/heal Highest aggregate damage/healing/protection Fastest winning time in each WZ Most decisive win in each WZ where relevant (e.g. 600-0 Civil War) Highest number of scores in Huttball Highest medals in a match Highest MVP votes in a match Win 100 matches in each WZ etc I think these would add some enduring competition and depth to RWZ. You can also add titles and achievements to hitting certain triggers. That can include item unlocks as well. Longer term achievements were a fun part of Rift and unlocked titles. Cheers
  8. IMO Sab Charge is best saved in PVP for burst, although used as often as you can do so effectively.

  13. AVG/Pyro is a melee range class. You need to be able to reproc HIB and that can only happen with abilities with 4/10m ranges. The damage at 30m is very mediocre in all specs. So this thread comes down to: - Gunnery Commando - Assault Commando - Gunslinger - Sage
  14. I think that some more gunslinger abilities should be tech, yes. Whether this is the justification or not is moot. Separately, I would still like the KB ability to work on a miss.

  16. This in particular, plus other CDs, plus strong buffs, are too much given the high dmg output.
  17. No, just a normal WZ. The poster apparently has to use a cooldown to get 'a kill' if you read his comment (which he qualifies by when focused, which is nice because at least Marauders cooldowns allow them to survive when focused as opposed to everyone else who just die outright). Here's 640k damage, 0 deaths 59 kills. Obviously had a lot of cooldowns. PS. Quite a lot of archtypes cannot get the 5k hit medal.

  19. Did everyone get dismissed at BW Austin or something? Where's 1.3 on PTS?
  20. I've been levelling a marauder for the buff for my other toons. The damage and utility of this toon is becoming ludicrous. It's clearly headed for a nerf - although how to do it seems delicate as it would be easy to go too far and/or you would need to remove some of their cooldowns/buffs.
  21. People are rolling new alts to take advantage of the chapter 2 finish buffs. As one of the least played classes, they are ones that people really need to roll an alt on.
  22. I would have undying rage reduce damage done by the same 99% amount. It's then a time issue and not an I WIN issue.
