  3. Most often, this happens when the other team has scored and several of their players are fighting in our end zone. I slip out one side of the spawn and head through the corner of the pit and up the ramp. It's actually a good thing that their players are out of the action. I'm quite happy to sprint around and get on a ramp for a pass or do whatever needs to be done while they are wasting time in the end zone.

    Quitting warzones

    I don't quit matches, but I understand the reasons why others do. I'm wearing a mix of Champ/Cent armor/weapons with purple mods in every slot in my remaining 50 orange gear, so I'm not the stereotypical guy in greens that is so often discussed. While I understand the reasons given for leaving, it seems like many of the problems are dumped on those of us who don't quit matches. The quitting by other players is demoralizing, and leaving matches isn't the answer for me. I fight for objectives, so the rewards are generally a bit less than if I were focused on doing damage. Many of my matches begin with 6-7 people on the team after people see that it's Huttball and quit the queue. I understand that there are bad players in the game. Believe me... I get that and agree that there are many people in PvP without a clue. On my server, we play against some very good Republic teams. On average, 2 others will leave as soon as the match starts. Some replacements will arrive, but we start with a disadvantage because it takes time to feed in new players. As soon as the opponents capitalize on this and score/cap, another two teammates leave. This has created a cycle of defeat, and I'm looking for wins too. I care little for losing, even if it comes with rewards. I want to win. I don't like being dumped into losing matches in the final phase as happens so often. With two minutes to play and a score of 5-1, I can't save the match and the other guy that came in with me can't either. As an additional slap, I get crap rewards and lose my queue time when this happens. I hope that the coming changes will improve the situation. Take my comments as a factual history of my matches rather than a judgement against the quitters. There must be a way to satisfy the need for wins while not encouraging players to leave matches.

  6. As a pyro merc (50), I don't use Blizz much. Personality aside, being a DPS spec doesn't lend itself to supporting a tank very well. Blizz dies a lot in combat even though his gear is quite good. Loves me some Mako heals. I've been thinking of switching out gear to give Torian a go to see if he would work better. I've been using Blizz to get his affection up because I'm an armormech and the little guy has skills in that profession. Currently, he's halfway to max. I'll shower him with gifts to get that affection up some more and use Torian for a bit.
  7. I love the Republic guys on my server. They have a lot of very talented players, and outstanding teams for warzones. Last night, we had a huge battle on Ilum for two hours that was evenly matched for most of the evening. Unfortunately, it ended when we outnumbered the Republic and they were forced to withdraw. I'd love to see the population more balanced because it would bring a lot more competition into the game.

Distribution of output would be based on the principle of individual contribution. Your post has nothing to do with Socialism.
  9. An Alderaan match last week where half my team gave up immediately and quit early while we were playing a very good Republic team. At the end of the match, my entire team was camping the left turret and complaining about the Republics being OP while I was the only person attacking the enemy. I'll leave it to you to imagine what was said to me after I told them that the Republic isn't OP.

  11. You state your case well. and more people would accept gear progression if if were as you describe. Currently, geared players have been in the zones with lesser geared players, and that's what many of the complaints are about. If it's true gear progression with no going back to lower tiers with higher level gear, this would be met with fewer objections. It is the maintenance of constant advantage by the people who have more time to play that make many players oppose the gear progression that is currently implemented.
  12. That's actually a favorite tactic of mine. At an appropriate time, I'll DOT several opponents or just DFA and attract their attention. Most of the time, this results in immediate attention from several opponents and I can draw attention away from my teammates for a bit. Add a well-timed jet boost to clear another opponent or two from a walk, and we score.
  13. I agree. Having come from games other than The Unnamed Game, playing dress-up has nothing to do with skill in PvP regardless of time spent grinding, luck of the draw, your horoscope, or what the entrails of a sheep tell you.
  14. It's at that point that the logic of the change falls apart for me as well. Just add the new medals, I'm happy. However, I guess that wouldn't really encourage people to support the objectives.

  16. Great job, and thanks for posting the interview. One of the most interesting things that I heard that I haven't seen much discussion of regards the exploits and kill trading. Gabe made it clear that they know who is kill trading and are watching them closely. While there are no bans in place currently, they are paying attention to the issue.

    Great idea. Do a smaller version of Huttball, move some things around, and do 4/4.
  19. I bought a set of the 40 gear and it was ok. However, the bright white BH set made me really stand out as a target. If you have 1000/1000 and your Champ back saved, go for it.
  20. If every time you see a Geico commercial you think.... "Huttball... AGAIN?"
  21. I've found that a really quick click does the trick. If I hold down the button for too long, I won't get the target icon.
  22. /agree. I can see where that would be a huge boon to healers and guards.
  23. I got a laugh from this as it's pretty clever. Think about a game in which you started with good gear. As you "leveled" you lost gear. However, the leveling would be tied to skill/wins rather than time in the game. It would be a badge of honor to be recognized as a top PvPer because the winners would be playing with less, rather than more, gear. It's interesting to think about.
