  1. 100% agree. Great change with season 3. That is the perfect amount. Yes, we should match that with the PvP weekly. And as stated abovr the season is too short. It's not possible for a casual player to hit it. You really have to grind. God forbid you miss a week or two. Please make this change to 17 weeks. That is about 412 points per week without missing a week, which is about 3 of 4 of the weekly objectives. Said this is more fair. Too hardcore right now.
  2. I'm pretty happy with virulence in PvE. However, I agree 100% in terms of PvP. No way the sniper is viable in PvP. Damage is decent, but not great. Losing the heals made no sense. It was enough to keep you in a fight long enough to survive and have a fighting chance but was in no way OP. Please return the roll, in cover, and ballistic shield heals.
  3. Exactly. I would love to see something along those lines. Outside of that problem, I find the class very survivable, great for kiting and handling objectives. Some defensive oriented set bonuses/tact items could make the class a bit more viable in ranked.
  4. From a PvP standpoint one of the biggest limitations is the susceptibility to burst damage when stunlocked. I did a recent WZ where I followed the common logic of waiting until white barred to use Escape. I got hit by two assassins and was brought from 100% down to 5% before I broke stun lock. Other classes such as sorcs and BHs have defensive abilities that can be used when stunned. What about adding a tactical or set bonus where Evasion or Shield Probe can be used when stunned? Or decreasing the cooldown of them when stunned. Might be overpowered but worth a discussion.
  5. Its not terrible, but I personally don't think its the most useful choice. Having a knockback is very helpful, but its also very situational. I find Revitalizers is necessary for its healing and damage reduction and Curative Agent once again for its healing. You live longer, you do more damage. And you always need that.
  6. If I didn't know QP, I'd say there had to be a hack going on here. I love my lethality op and really think it is the most underrated spec in the game. 1v1 I always believe that I can hold my own against any class. When you play it smart with the hit and run, you can do really well. But when I see you go 1v2 and your health bar is barely moving, I have to wonder how you are mitigating all that damage? Shield Probe and Evasion are good, but not THAT good and the class is squishy once those are on CDs. What's your secret?
  7. Here's a crazy idea to add some chaos and unpredictability: let a second Huttball spawn randomly. Teams would have to strategically hold back some players to defend.
  8. As snave and the others said, play what you enjoy. Then again, for snave, Conc > Everyone. I play Lethality because I just love the play style better than Concealment, despite its limitations. In regs you can easily find a good role and contribute to the group. Lethality just lacks the burst that is necessary in certain situations. But if you play it smart, its one of the most survivable specs in the game, if you like the hit and runaway / kiting style of playing. Check out this thread for some good comments: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=923445
  9. Amen! Well said QP!! Balancing the Lethality dps output for Operations is all well and good, but the problem is PvP because by its very nature, it is very burst oriented. Yes I have topped the leaderboards in damage. But also I've been middle of the pack. Lethality is situationally good. It is fine if you run around like a jackrabbit and spread some DoTs (and that needs a lot of love in and of itself because of the constant target switching). When you can hit and run you do well. Defending a node by kiting is just fine. But if you get single targeted, it takes way too long to ramp up the damage to be viable in a 1v1 setting or any small scale skirmish. I just did a WZ where my biggest hit was 8800 and all the mercs were doing around 30k on their hits. In PvP, you are being hit for way more damage in 4 to 5 GCDs before you even begin to do any real damage. So every fight you start way in the hole. And god forbid you are stunned like QP said, half your health or more is gone before you even break stun lock with no real way or preventing it. We don't have a single ability that ignores it. Then you have to turn tail and run like Brave Sir Robin just to survive. Whether you tweak the damage output 5% either way I don't think makes a huge difference, but we really need some serious love to the utilities on DCDs or passives to be able to handle all the burst that comes our way. The self heals are decent. With utilities, Countermeasures, Stim Boost and Kolto Probe can heal you approximately 75% of total health - over 15 seconds all while your enemy is beating you over the head. Additionally, that takes 3 full GCDs with another two if you want to roll and use Kolto Infusion. So 5 full GCDs where your opponent is laying into you and you do no damage at all except your 2 DoTs which frankly most classes can passively self heal through. So all you can do is runaway and scream like my 7 year old daughter, allow your heals to work and kite your opponent around. There are not many classes/specs where a Lethality op can stand toe to toe with and just trade punches and hope to survive. Not because of the damage output, but because of mitigation. You have to actively stop DPSing and actively start healing just to survive simply because of the headstart burst or quasi-burst classes have and the nature of ramp up of Lethality. Shield probe and evasion need some serious help. Here are just some ideas of how you could pull a couple of levers to balance the passives that will help mitigation/survivability: 1. Make Med Shield increase the amount absorbed from medium to large and when the shield collapses, increase amount healed from 5% to 10%. That will at least make you think of taking it. 2. Evasive Imperative - increase the duration of Evasion by 2 seconds 3. Fortified Kolto - increase DR to 5% per stack. 4. Revitalizers - decreases CD of Stim Boost by 15 seconds. I agree we don't want to overbuff defenses like was done to Mercs/mandos. We just knew they were going to be OP once those changes were announced. But I think these kinds of changes are a nudge in the right direction without overbuffing.
  10. Disabling all the Game Mode functions didn't do anything for me. What ultimately worked was going to the launcher file, right clicking and selecting Properties. Then going to the Compatibility tab and selecting "Disable fullscreen optimization".
  11. Great question: How early is "early"? I'd hate to make travel arrangements and spend the money on the hotel just to be turned away because the event full. Any way to reserve a spot?
  12. Thanks for the answer. Is there a source or we just guessing?
  13. While very possible I've missed it in a previous thread, here's my question: When the DvL companion is awarded at the end of the event, who gets it? Just the DvL characters you created or all the characters in your legacy? This is important to me because I'm fine with playing the event to get the companion on the toons I've had for years, but if I'm stuck with my new event companion to only DvL toons, no thanks. Not worth the effort to me.
  14. My quest has to be bugged. I got the 20 pelts and turned them in to get to level 10. Once you do, there really aren't any options to leave the conversation, only turn in the world boss trophies. So I hit escape. Then all pelts are returned to my inventory and I am reduced to level 1. What gives? Anyone else experience this? EDIT: Didn't see the scroll down. Hang on while I reboot the brain.
  15. Thanks for the input. That helps.
  16. Sorry, should have explained that a bit better . I'm not really getting it for gaming per se. I have a gaming rig at home plus a high end gaming laptop. However, I'm getting tired of lugging around that beast. I'm looking to get the surface for work as I need the portability. I just want to know, if I'm on the road, I can fire up TOR if I have the mind to do so. And the only problem with the surface book is the price tag
  17. I am looking to get a Surface Pro 4 but was unsure of which spec to go for. I've seen the previous threads that the game worked decently on the Pro 3, so I'm sure outside of raiding it'll be ok on the 4 with some of the graphics settings turned down. Well, hopefully ok for PvP. My question, however, is which build to get? Is it worth spending the extra $400 to upgrade from the i5 to the i7? 8gb vs. 16gb ram? I'd love to hear your experiences with this. Thanks.
  18. Exactly why we need a gear manager added to this that allows us to swap gear sets with a click of a button. And then dual spec would go nicely with this. Just sayin' Bioware...
  19. For me, I always ran with Scorpio in tank stance and tanking gear. With her, I can solo the champions in the heroic section of Oricon, it just may take a while. For normal mobs, you want her in tank stance to hold aggro and take a beating. Just toss your HoTs on her and then start contributing to dps. You will take mobs down really fast that way. If you put her in dps gear, her dps isn't that spectacular and she won't hold out very long. You'll find yourself healing more and DPSing less. You'd be better off going with Vector at that point.
  20. We were just using each other as target dummies to monitor damage either way. Temple would easily get smoked by another player, but simply would last a bit longer and take a few extra hits with the PvP gear on. Where it makes the difference is when I put her on an enemy's companion. Then she did a lot better.
  21. I tested this out with my companion vs. a guild mate. We both broke out Ensign Temple. I equipped her first with PvE gear (all 168). Then I had her beat on the other Temple until dead. And then beat on the guildmate until defeated. Switched over to her PvP set (all 162) and repeated. Also did reverse: had my guildie and his Temple do the same to my Temple in the different sets. Outcome: After timing all the matches, my Temple lasted longer and took a better beating with the PvP gear and defeated them quicker despite the lower rating. So based on this direct experience, Expertise seems to work in open world PvP.
  22. I have to amend my opinion somewhat on this. What I said was based upon my having Temple duel a friend's HK and just getting her backside handed to her. Since that time, I have gotten Temple fully geared in level 69 gear. Then I went and got vector in full 69 gear. HK still won but it was a lot closer. Much of that is attributed to the fact that HK is in 174 ratingg gear. For single target it really did appear that Victor was every bit as good as HK and frankly superior to Temple. However against trash or in situations where AoE is important Temple may be a better option. I'd like to run similar tests between Scorpio and kaliyo but I really cannot do that right now give in the gear discrepancy. Scorpio is in her for 174 rating gear and Kaliyo is in 69s. However based on a direct comparison of raw stats Kaliyo does seem to absorb damage better while Scorpio seems to have better damage output.
  23. Great reply. Thank you! So does sound that Lethality can crank out some good numbers in PvE. How about strategies in PvP? Are they survivable or really rely on others to survive?
  24. I've always wondered about how good lethality really is. You just never see anyone play them. You have to wonder why. Probably because they don't do as much damage and can't take as much damage as other dps classes. So in other words, you pretty much get pwned by all other classes. hence why you don't see them. At least with concealment you get some nice burst out of stealth giving you a chance to bring other people down.
  25. HK is hands down best DPS companion right now for single target for all classes. For the Agent, I personally like Temple because she does do pretty good damage and she's excellent at AoE and taking out trash. And personally i dig her as a brunette. Can't bring myself to using bug boy for the melee but i'm sure he'd do pretty good too. For tanking, I also just can't bring myself to getting an ewok but certainly Scorpio now is the easiest companion to gear with the elite czerka droid parts. For about a 1.5 million credits or less you can have her equipped in full 174 armor rating gear. She definitely can hold her own against any mobs. I've even used her for some bosses that don't require a specific tanking mechanism. And she is deliciously wicked.
